TAP TAP
Phukong tapped the tip of his pen on the food court table, waiting for his cousin.
BEEP
Heart: Sorry, Phukong. I won't be able to come to your faculty.
BEEP
Heart: Come to engineering instead. I'll introduce my boyfriend to you.
Phukong read the messages and took his bag. He then left to reach the engineering faculty.
In fifteen minutes, he was already walking inside the food court of engineering.
"Phukong!" Heart yelled, waving, "Over here!"
Phukong smiled and walked towards Heart's table.
"Gear, that's Phukong, my cousin," Heart introduced, "Phukong, that's Gear, my boyfriend."
Phukong looked at Gear and said, "How did someone so handsome like you end up with my ugly cousin?"
Heart gasped. "Phukong!" He yelled, making both his boyfriend and his cousin laugh.
"Phukong?"
The boy froze, hearing the voice. He turned around and saw Mil with the other engineering students.
"You know him, Ai'Mil?" Forth asked, "Ah, you tutors him, right?"
Mil laughed. "Yeah. Anyways, Phukong, I didn't expect you to have friends in engineering?" He teased.
Heart frowned. "Are you saying my cousin are not capable of making friends?" He asked.
"Chill, Heart," Phukong said, "He is just teasing."
"Alright," Mil said, "I got a match against the engineering. I'll see you after I beat their asses."
Aart smacked Mil on his head. "Dream on!" He said.
"How can he?" Earl asked, "His mind is full of N'Tine."
Phukong's heart dropped at Tine's name.
Mil grinned. "That's right, tho," He said. He then looked at Phukong and said, "It's not my mistake I like your brother's boyfriend."
"Brother? He is Wat's brother?" Forth asked.
"Yes, P'Forth," Phukong said, "I'm P'Wat's brother."
"Looks like the entire family has good genes, huh?" Forth said, winking at Phukong.
He then marched towards Phukong, but before he could do that, Mil grabbed him by his hand.
"Come on, Forth! Half of the uni is crazy about you!" Min whined, "Leave my junior alone."
Phukong laughed. "P'Mil, don't worry. I'm not going to be crazy for him," He said.
Forth warped his hands and said, "And why is that so?"
"Well," Phukong leaned towards Forth and whispered something in his ear.
Forth was frozen, as Phukong leaned off him, grinning. "Beside I got my eyes on someone else," He said, looking at Mil who was busy scrolling through Tine's account.
Earl caught his gaze wondering on a certain guy. His eyes widened as he silently gasped.
Forth looked at Phukong, with eyes full of fear and worry. "Ho...How did you know?" He asked.
"Hm?" Phukong said, smirking, "I got my contacts, Phi. But don't worry, your secret is completely safe with me."
With that, Phukong left the food court without eating.
"Phukong! Your food—"
"Where is Phukong?" Mil asked, noticing Phukong's absence.
"He just left,"
*
Phukong mentally cussed, when he realised that he left his bag in engineering.
Dragging his feet, he went back to the food court.
As soon as he got his back, he decided to take the other path which was basically a short cut.
That's when he noticed Mil playing with the other engineering students in the football.
He, unconsciously, marched towards the field without anyone noticing him.
"I heard that you got a boyfriend, Ai'Mil," One of the engineering guys said.
Mil frowned.
"Ohoho!" Talay exclaimed, "The rumours finally got out!"
"What boyfriend...?" Mil asked, confusingly, "I don't have a boyfriend."
"Really?" The same engineering student asked, "What about that cute, handsome junior of yours? What was his name again? Phi—Pu—Phukong! Yeah, Phukong!"
Mil chuckled. "No, he is not my boyfriend. We are just Phi-Nong," He said.
"That doesn't seem like it," Talay said, "I know you like Tine, but you seem to love Phukong."
Mil looked at his friend, unamused. "Phukong is Sarawat's brother. He is just my junior, nothing more than that," He said.
"So," Forth said, entering the scene at the right time, "If Phukong wasn't Sarawat's brother, then you would date him."
Mil frowned. "Stop with this dating nonsense now," He said, "We are here for a match not for being a matchmaker."
"Wait!" Forth stopped him, "You said that you hate everything that is related to Sarawat. Is Phukong an exception?"
Mil shook his head. "No! He is not! I'm just tutoring him because he is my junior! I admit we do play together but I neither consider him as my friend, nor as a crush," He said.
Phukong watched Mil walking towards the centre of the field. A tear rolled down his cheeks.
*
Phukong went straight to political science. He didn't know where else to go, except for his brother.
"Phukong?" Sarawat said, noticing his brother's presence, "What are you doing here?"
Phukong smiled sadly and said, "Sorry. I shouldn't disturb you. I'm sorry. I'll leave."
"No!" Sarawat grabbed his brother's hand and said, "Now that you are already here, let's go and eat."
Phukong nodded and let his brother drag him to his table.
"What do you want to eat?" Sarawat asked, looking at his brother who was sitting.
Phukong kept his head down and said, "Anything will do."
Sarawat sighed. He sat beside Phukong and asked, "What happened?"
"Phi," Phukong said, "Do you remember when I asked you about love?"
Sarawat nodded.
FLASHBACK
Phukong was lying on his stomach, whereas Sarawat was sitting on the bed.
"You have changed a lot," Phukong said, looking at his brother.
"So?" Sarawat asked, not looking away from his phone.
"It kinda makes me scared," Phukong said, "If I really like someone, will I change too?"
Sarawat looked away in thoughts.
"It is not that scary," Sarawat said, "You will get it when you find the right one."
Phukong smiled shyly as his thoughts kept wondering towards Mil.
END OF FLASHBACK
"It's scary, P'Wat," Phukong said. He scoffed to not break down into tears.
"Phu..." Sarawat said, "What happened?"
"Why did you say it's not scary?" Phukong asked, "It's more scarier when it's just one sided."
Sarawat pulled his brother and hugged him, patting his back.
"It's okay, Phukong," He said, "Maybe he is not the right one for you."
Suddenly Sarawat felt a weight on his chest.
Phukong fainted!
"Phukong! Wake up!" Sarawat tried waking up his brother.
"Man!" He yelled at the person walking inside the food court, "Call for an ambulance! Phukong is not responding!"
Man looked at the two brothers in shock before calling.
*
Sarawat was waiting outside Phukong's room. They were in the hospital, both Sarawat and Man.
Tine arrived at the hospital as soon as he heard about Phukong.
That news was spread everywhere in the Political Science faculty.
"What happened?" Tine asked, worryingly.
Sarawat shrugged. "I don't know," He said.
At the same moment, the doctor came out of the room.
"Doctor! What happened to my brother?" Sarawat asked.
"Don't worry. It's just stress. He must be too overwhelmed by his emotions," The doctor said, before walking away to the next room.
Sarawat clenched his fist in anger.
"Wat," Tine said, "Phukong is fine. Nothing will happen to him."
"It already happened," Sarawat said and went to Phukong's room, leaving Tine confused.
*
The next day, Phukong stayed in the hospital. He had a few tests before he get discharge.
Meanwhile, in the Architecture faculty, everyone was unaware of Phukong's condition.
"Oi! You, Phukong's friend," Mil called a fresher, "Come here!"
"Yes, Phi?" The fresher said, politely.
Mil looked at him and asked, "What's your name?"
"Zin, krap," The fresher said, "Is there anything I can help you with?"
Mil nodded. "Do you know where is Phukong?" He asked.
Zin was puzzled. "You..." He said, "You didn't hear about Phukong, Phi?"
Mil tilted his head. "Is there anything wrong with Phukong?" He asked.
"Phi," Zin was hesitating, "Phukong is in the hospital."
"What? Which hospital?" Mil asked, worryingly.
Zin shook his head, saying, "I don't know, Phi. P'Sarawat might know thou—"
Mil dashed out of the faculty and drove his car to Sarawat's faculty.
In less than fifteen minutes, he reached the faculty.
"Sarawat!" Mil yelled, once he spotted the latter in the hallway.
"Mil," Sarawat hissed, "What do you want?"
"Phukong! Where is he? In which hospital? Which room?" Mil asked, panting.
Boss looked annoyed. "Why should he tell y—"
"Valent hospital, second floor, room number 14," Sarawat said, looking at Mil.
Mil tapped Sarawat's shoulder and said, "Thanks!"
He then drove towards the hospital.
Boss looked at Sarawat with confusion.
"What?" Sarawat asked.
"Why did you tell him that?" Boss asked.
Sarawat smirked and replied, "You won't get it."
"Heh?"
