Her Reply

Chapter 5

Ophelia stood speechless. She was in utter shock. For a second she thought of going there and asking him about the situation. But her legs were frozen. Her limbs have become frigid.

With an aching heart, Ophelia ran away from there furiously. Those eyes of her were on the verge of tears. She could feel her throat getting dry.

As she was running blindly, without even looking forward, her body crashed on a person. It made her halt. Lifting those glum eyes up, she found out Ricky was standing in front of her.

“ There you are. I was looking for you.” Giving a bright cheerful smile, Ricky said.

“ What for?” She was not in a mood for any silly conversation. Her heart was in terrible pain. She just wants to go home and lock herself in the room.

“ Woah babe! Can’t I just talk with you casually?” Ricky jokes carelessly. As usual he was flirting with her.

“ Answering a question with question. You sure know how to get me angry. I’m going home. Bye.” Being irritated by his behaviour, Ophelia started to walk away from there. But her hand got caught up in a firm grip.

“ Hey! What’s the rush? You kinda look upset. Mind sharing it with me?” This time his voice sounded sympathetic. Ricky noticed those gloomy eyes drenched in misery. Surprisingly he felt like pursuing her more.

Although the reason was different this time. Usually he would keep on nagging Ophelia. But today he saw that familiar face masked within the crankiness.

“ There’s no need. You won’t understand anyway. Let go off my hand. I just want to go home.” Ophelia got extremely annoyed. Her voice sounded harsh.

“ Ophelia, I have been trying hard to get your attention. Trust me, you can share your problems. I’ll definitely help you out.” Ricky was pleading her. His jawline was beautifully shaped with his gentleness.

“ Why do you even care?“ The question bothered her a lot during these past few days. If it was just some attention seeker, he would have quitted it long time ago.

“ Because I like you. I want to take you on a date and spend time together.” With a soften smile, he said. Ricky was still trying to win her heart. That sweet gesture, those sweet words, they pulled her into the trap.

Ophelia was feeling hurt because of Hugo. However the one who came to put bandaids on her was Ricky. She was bewitched by such affection.

“ Fine.” A word, a reply she would have never given if the recent incident wouldn’t have happened.

“ You seriously saying yes?” Ricky’s eyes widen up with joy.

“ Hmm. If that’s what you want. But don’t expect too much from me. I’ve never been in a relationship.”

“ God! Finally. I’m so happy.” Being extremely excited. Ricky wrapped his arms around Ophelia, hugging her gently.

After that day, Ophelia started to date Ricky. They begun to spend more time. Although their relationship didn’t lasted long. It was never going to work out on the first place.

On the other hand, Hugo was facing some difficulties on his own. Such as, to see the person he liked with somebody else.
