The favor

Walking down the empty hall she starts to wonder what the favor was.

"Seo-Yeon" said a mysterious voice.

"Hye-Suk?" She asked

"Follow me"

Still uncertain, she followed the figure.

"Sir, she's here"

Turn out it was Hye-Suk's assistant. Calmly, she sat down across from him.

"What's the favor that you want me to do for you?" Seo-Yeon ask curiously

"It's a small favor," Hye-Suk smiles "be my fiancé"

"What?" She yelled out still in shock, "You didn't ask me to be your fiancé right? I must've misheard you"

"No, I said be my fiancé"

"But why?" She asked " there are so many women out there, why me?"

"Because you'd be the best fit." Hye-Suk replied instantly. "You have a reputable background." He added "Of course it's fake, it'll be a 5 years agreement. We'll be engaged for 8 months, then we'll get married. We'll be a married couple until the end of the 5 years, then we'll get divorced."

"But why go through all that trouble? It's not like there are any benefit on marrying me."

"Actually, my mom wants me to get married. It's her last wish. She want to see me get married before she... dies. She has cancer and only have a few years left." Hye-Suk said trying his hardest not to cry.

She reaches over to give Hye-Suk a sympathetic pat on the back , "l'm sorry,"She stops for a moment before continuing "I'll do the favor, I want your mom go be happy. Consider this repaying you for helping me today."

"Really? Why?"

"Actually, I have a twin brother. When we were 10, we got in a car accident while on vacation. My dad didn't survive leaving my mom to take care of me and my twin brother. A few days after I turned 19, my mom died from a heart attack..." She said sympathetically.

"I'm sorry"

"It been 7 years already. Time sure past by fast"

"I'll do the favor" she smiled

"Thank you." He smiled "Let's meet tomorrow and go over terms."

As she headed to the door, she waved "Alright, see you then. Good night"

"Goodnight" Hye-Suk stands up to open the door, " Let me walk you out"

"Thank you"

"I'll see then, good night"

"Alright, good night" Seo-Yeon hailed a taxi and left.

The next day, Seo-Yeon arrives at Hye-Suk's office, ten minutes late. "I'm 30 minutes late this is so unprofessional" she thoughts go herself. As she enters the lobby, she could feel all eyes on her.

"What is Seo-Yeon doing here?" Said one

"I have an appointment with Kwon Hye-Suk" Seo-Yeon asked the receptionist.

Still surprised the receptionist ask "Can I have your name?"

"Lee Seo-Yeon"

"I'm sorry, but your name isn't on Mr.Kwon's appointment list. I can't let you meet him according to the company rule." She added "Would you like me to ask Mr.Kwon?"

"Thank you" Seo-Yeon smile

"Mr.Kwon, do you have an appointment with Ms.Lee Seo-Yeon?"

"Yes, could you send her to my office? I forgot to add her to my appointment list." Hye-Suk said over the phone

"Yes Sir" the receptionist replied

Seo-Yeon still standing there waiting anxiously for a response.

"Right this way please" the receptionist step out and guide Seo-Yeon.

"Thank you" Seo-Yeon said as she follows behind.

They went inside the elevator and after what feel like hours, she finally reached the top floor, Hye-Suk's floor.

Knocking on the door, "Mr.Kwon, Ms.Lee is here" The receptionist said then left.

"Hi" Seo-Yeon waved and take a seat across from Hye-Suk, "I'm sorry that I'm late, something came up at home."

"Hi" Hye-Suk waved back, "It's alright, is everything okay now? We could rearrange this meeting if needed. Also, I'm sorry about the trouble, I forgot to tell my assistant about the meeting."

"It's alright, everything is fine now."

"That's good, here's the contract. Please read it carefully and tell me if you have any questions or request."

Carefully, she read through each page of the contract.

"Everything in here is good." She said signing and giving back the contract.

"That's great then." Hye-Suk said taking back the contract," I'll send you a copy, do you have any question?"

"Well since I'm keeping the ring on at all time, will this engagement and marriage be public?"

"Yes, and here's the ring" He said handing her a box.

"Also what's our story?"

"When was the first drama you filmed that's sponsored by Kwon Group?"

"About 6 years ago, the drama that got me best actress. Since then most my dramas are sponsored by Kwon Group."

"Alright then, our story is... We've been dating for 6 years. The first time we met was during that drama, we ran into each other at a restaurant nearby the set. And we've been dating ever since. As for when I proposed to you, it'll be... tomorrow. I'll send someone to pick you up tomorrow, that's when the proposal gonna happens."

"Then when is it gonna be public?"

"After you meet my mom tomorrow. We'll make it public the day after tomorrow."

"Alright then, I guess I'll see you tomorrow." Seo-Yeon stands up

"6pm tomorrow, at your company?"

"Sure, have a good day"

"Alright, have a good day, bye bye"

"Bye bye" Seo-Yeon headed for the door and left. "This is all so sudden, how am I going to tel Yeong-Jin? He'll understand. I'll explain after tomorrow." She thought to herself.

"Hey, Seo-Yeon" Yeong-Jin asked peeking into her room only to realize she wasn't there.

Buzzzzzzz Buzzzzzzz Buzzzzzzz. Seo-Yeon rings.

"Who could it be?" Yeong-Jim reaches over to see the caller ID.
