Episode 2

Hayley's POV

*7 years after*

I am here at NAIA. I just got back from the States. I wanted to go back straight to our house but my family is currently living under the roof of Johnson's family so whether I like it or not, I have to go there.

I am patiently waiting for their new family driver and not so long he arrive and help me with my things.

When I was about to get on the backseat part, I was surprised to see him on the other side.

He grumpily looked at me then divert his gaze on the window.

"Just get in faster. I want to go home and sleep already." He said with a hint of authority.

"A-ah yes. Sorry." I said and nervously get on the car.

Silence envelop us while on our way back to their mansion.

"So you're still alive." He said withouth looking at me. Gone with the playful voice I used to love back then.

I remained silent. I don't want to talk or else I might cry infront of him.

When we arrive, I immediately went out to rush to my parents. My dad is on a wheelchair why my mom is at his back manuevering the wheelchair. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are on the side watching us.

I hug my parents tightly.

"Im sorry you have to come home because of me." My dad said.

"No dad. I'm glad I came home to take care of you."

I look to Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and said my thanks to them.

"Thank you for your kindness in taking care of my father. I can take it from here and take care of them from home."

"No. Please Hayley, let me take care of you dad. He saved me that's why he's in this kind of situation."

"My husband is right, Hay-hay. This is our way of saying thank you. Besides, you'll be busy with work now that you request your transfer here right?"

As a sign of defeat, I sigh and nod when suddenly Ulric passed by.

"Where are you going son?" Asked by his dad.

"Sleep." He just answered and went upstairs. I just look at him from where I stand.

"I'm sorry for his manners. He's really tired. For the past 7 years, he made the empire a lot bigger. He's now venturing on hospitals and oil industries." His mom explain.

"H-he's doing a great job." I said and smile.

I decided to stay in our house because that is near the hospital I am assigned.

In the afternoon I went to the hospital to announce my transfer.

"This is bad. I can't reach him anymore." I sighed.

When I step in the hospital, I saw him. I saw Ulric. I don't know why he's here but that question was answered immediately.

"Daddy!!!!" Shouted by a kid who ran towards him and hug him.

He carry the child with a big smile and not so long, a beautiful lady came towards them. She is beautiful. They look like... They look like a happy family.

I know at that moment, I know something inside me shattered. Perhaps, my heart.

I divert my gaze and run to the nearest comfort room. I let myself cry silently and after that I fixed myself as nothing happened. After I look like nothing happened, I went to the board room. It was located at the top floor of this building.

When I was there, I knocked first and then open the door. I pretend not to get shock when I saw him at the end.

So this hospital belongs to him and I am working under him.

The senior doctors introduced me to everyone. After the short meeting everyone went out immediately to go back to their work stations. While I was left behind to study my work loads.

I was engrossed with the papers I am holding that I didn't noticed that he is standing behind my back.

"Ms. Franco." He said making me startled.

"Y-yes sir?" I said as I look at him.

"I hate incompentent doctors. So if you're planning to disappear again, better resign. Don't mess with my business." He said as he walk towards the door but before he can open it I stop him.

"Can we talk, Mr. Ulric? I'll explain my side."

"I'm busy."

"Later. I'll wait later at 8pm right after my shift here." I said to him with confidence.

He look at me smirking.

"How sure are you that I'm going to meet you later?"

"I'll still wait. In front of that karaoke bar that we went when we were celebrating for our upcoming graduation day. I'll wait."

"Don't wait for me. I'll never come." He said and went out.
