Episode 1

Hayley's POV

After the graduation, Mr. Johnson, his father, offered me a scholarship but I properly decline. I wanted to strive on my own so I applied as scholar to many Universities until I got one.

It's a prestigious university but it is located in the next town. So I had to live my own.

Ulric was sad about my decision but we promised to call each other every night so we can still be intouch.

I didn't asked money to my parents since I am in a boarding school. Aside from that, I am planning to have a part time jobs to earn for myself.

"Why are you doing this?" I remembered my mom asked me.

"I just want to have a nice job in the future mom so that you will not work anymore. Soon enough you'll going to age more and I want you to have the luxury in life. I want it to give what you deserve, mom."

"Are you sure you are doing these things for us?"

"Of course mom."

"What about Ulric? You'll going to leave him."

I just keep silent and never bothered answering her.

At first it was okay. Ulric and I are having our late night talks until we are slowly drifting apart.

There are times when he was calling me but I can't talk to him because it is either I am at work or I am sleeping already due to tiredness.

I wanted to call him back but I am thinking maybe he was busy and I don't want to disturb him.

During special occasions, I can't go home to celebrate, instead I doubled my part time jobs to earn money for the next term.

Until I did not notice that 5 years had already passed. I graduated Magna Cumlaude in BS Biology. Yes. I want to become a doctor.

I went home to tell the good news but nobody was there so I decided to go the the Johnson's mansion only to find out that there is a simple gathering happening right now.

"Hay-Hay! You're back!" He shouted in surprise as he came and hug me tight.

"Ahm. Sorry I disturb your party." I shyly apologized to them.

" No its okay, dear. Its just a small celebration because my son here, Ulric, is now the new CEO of our empire." His dad announce happily.

If anyone notice that I got shock by the news, I don't know.

"Congratulations! You made it! I know you'll handle your empire!" I said with a big smile.

"You think so? Thank you Hay-hay!" He happily said and hug me tight again.

I excused myself to them and went to the bathroom.

"He's still out of my league. No matter what I do, I can't reach him." I cried silently.

The next morning, I was called to join them in their breakfast. My dad was busy attending the car and my mom was not there around so basically I was with the Johnson Family alone.

"So Hayley, what are your plans now?" Asked by his mom.

"I just graduated my 5 year-BS Biology course. So now I'm going to enroll to a med-school for 4 years and then proceed to 3-7 years of residency."

"That's long. So that means I cannot hang out with you again." Ulric said frowning.

Hang out? That's what friends usually do. He really treats me as his best friend.

I smiled at him.

"You will be busy also. Apparently, you have your empire to run Mr. CEO." I said to him.

"Hayley's right son." Said by his father.

"What med-school are you attending?" Ask by Ulric

"Im going to Ateneo de Manila."

"Can I visit you there?" He asked again.

"Of course." I said and smile.

I know he'll never visit me because he'll be busy.
