My name is Yuki, I am 17 year old starting 11th grade today.

(Yuki reaches school, finds her class, sits on her chair and out of nowhere, she pokes the guys shoulder in front of her)

Hi!

(Guy infront) Hi.........

(Yuki) What's your name ?

(Guy infront) Ed Briggs..... (Ed Says his name while turning around)

(They have the same question for each other which was if they have met each other before or not but didn't ask)

(Yuki) Ok ! (while smiling)

(Ed) Ok...... (Weird he thinks)

(Yuki) Want to be friends ?

(Ed) Huh? No !

(Yuki) Why ?

(Ed) why me ? Find someone else , I don't like making friends , I have always been alone in schools

(Yuki) You will be sitting in front of me for this whole year, I thought maybe we could get to know each other better....

(Ed) Whatever... Just forget about making me your friend , you wouldn't want someone like me to be your friend

(Yuki) Why? What wrong with you ?

(Ed) You are better off not knowing it ...

(Yuki) ...............

Later that day when Yuki was going home she saw Ed and was surprised

(Yuki) Ed! (Shouting)

(Ed) $H!T .....

(Yuki) which way's your house?

(Ed) Not telling !

(Yuki) why......

(Ed) You will ask to walk home together everyday or something like that

(Yuki) well that's what friends do !

(Ed) "Friends" I am not your friend, we met hours ago and you are being too Frank, and that's annoying

(Yuki) fine ! Don't tell me , I'll follow you ...

(Ed) get lost, I won't move from here ...

*10 minutes pass*

(Ed) aaaahhhh! Fine it's this way ! Now go mind your own business.

(Yuki)huuh! Mine's that way! Hmph..... And I was hoping to get along....

(Ed) Good for me ! Haha (he runs away)

Yuki reaches home

"I am back"

(Yuki's mom) How was your first day?

(Yuki) fine... I tried making a friend but he ignored me and said I was annoying.....

(Mom) you are probably forcing yourself on him , what's his name ?

(Yuki) Ed Briggs

(Mom) .......amm...... You sure his name's Ed Briggs?

(Yuki) He told me ..... Why ask ?

(Mom) Nothing!.....Go get changed, we will talk about school later.

Yuki goes up stairs to her room

While at Ed's home

Ed enters his home

(Ed's big brother) welcome back! How was the first day of New year at school?

(Ed) Boooring as ever , also very annoying today.

(Brother) why , what happened?

(Ed) this girl who sat behind me wanted to be friends with me ..

(Brother) you know her ?

(Ed) No ! We just met today

(Brother) what was her name ?

(Ed) don't know, didn't ask, Don't care! Anyways, where's mom ?

(Brother) In her room

(Ed) crying ?

(Brother) yes

(Ed) huh.... Again.... Where's Dad ?

(Brother) in his room , probably drinking

(Ed) This happens every time they fight,I am used to it now though....

(Brother)go get changed , I'll put food on the table

Ed goes to his room.

(Yuki) Hi ! (To Ed)

(Ed) ...........

(Yuki) atleat say hi ...

(Ed) aaaahhhh.... I told you , just leave me alone

This continued everyday and eventually Ed got used to her, they didn't become friends but Ed started to talkback atleat , she considered him a friend.

One day, when Ed was going back home, he saw a man sleeping in a park, he locked around and then quietly stole his wallet and ran away, the went to a store and bought something to eat, this was his normal way of living, his parents weren't rich so he never asked for allowance.That day when he got home

(Ed) I am back

(Ed's mom) welcome back .... Where did you get the money to buy juice ??

(Ed) it has nothing to do with you....

(Mom) why do you have to steal , if you want money a--------

(Ed's Dad) how much was in it ?

(Ed) enough to buy two juice cans

(Dad to Mom) See it's not that much ,the guy wouldn't feel bad for that much money

(Mom) stealing is stealing ! and there must be other stuff in that guy's wallet that must be important to him

This conversation continues until it turns into a fight, Ed felt bad for what he did but couldn't help because of his bad habits

Some days later when Yuki was going home, she saw Ed suspiciously following a guy, Yuki found it strange and followed him, then suddenly Ed snitches his wallet and runs away without getting caught by him, Yuki was surprised , so she also started running after him. He stops at a vending machine to drink. Then she comes forward

(Ed) Hey ! what are you doing here? Your house isn't this way...

(Yuki) The wallet......

(Ed) huh... so you saw , damit.....

(Yuki) give me the wallet

(Ed) I Ain't giving the wallet but you can have 40% of his money

(Yuki) IDIOT! , I am not asking about the money ! give it to me, there must be an ID Card in it...

(Ed) don't tell me.... are you going to return it back ?

(Yuki)not me, you . You are returning it back to him, and I'll be coming too, to make sure you don't run away.

(Ed) I am not giving it back, I have never hit a jackpot this big before......

Yuki takes the Wallet by force and finds the ID Card for address

(Yuki) hmmm.... it's not that far from here

Yuki grabs his arm and starts walking to that guys address, Ed didn't hesitate because Yuki's anger reminded him of his mother

when they reach the address , Yuki gives the Wallet back to Ed and rings the bell

(Guy) what it is ?

(Yuki to Ed) give it back

(Ed) you dropped yo------

Yuki slaps his head and says

(Yuki) He stole your wallet ,Ed give it back....

(Ed) here.....

(Guy) Thank God ! and **** you kid....

(Ed)....... sorry....

the guy shuts his door and they start walking back to their homes

(Ed)......um...

(Yuki) hmmmm.....?

(Ed) Thank you !

(Yuki) huh....¿? your welcome..........

(Ed) will you walk home with me everyday so that I won't steal anymore?

(Yuki) haaah!!!! yaaay !!! finally we are friends....

(Ed) not friends , you are just helping me to overcome my bad habits

(Yuki) but you asked to walk home together and that's what friends do !

(Ed) well.... maybe friends ,maybe...

(Yuki) we will eventually become good friends if we stick together

(Ed) not happening !

after that ,they went to their homes and talked to their moms

about each other

----Ed's Home----

(Ed) I am back !

(Mom) welcome back !

(Ed) mom guess what, I made a friend that will help me avoid stealing and stuff

(Mom) that's great ! what's his name ?

(Ed) "Her" , Agata Yuki ......

(Mom) Agata Yuki....... hah ! Ed listen to me carefully , what ever you do , don't meat her outside of school, and be sure not to say that name ever again in this house if your dad finds out , you will be in grave danger....

Dad comes out of his room and mom changes the topic...

Almost the same conversation goes between Yuki and her mom ,the only difference was that she(Yuki's mom) strictly told her to don't even talk to him .

Both confused and don't Know why is this happening... never talked to each other about this in class , they stayed friends afterwards hiding the warning of their parents from each other. this way , they passed the exams and reached the final year of high school ,

------------------------------------12th Grade------------------------------------

There's a New student in class , shinichi , whose name on the his books and class register is written as Shinichi 2 , the whole class finds it strange so they ask him directly, it turn out that he died once in an accident and his parents found a suitable guy to exchange his soul with ,so he was brought back to life and given the name Shinichi 2. After hearing this story, Ed remembered that his father also writes 2 at the end of his name , after school he decides to go and ask his father himself. Yuki was absent that day.

(Ed) Dad ,where are you ?

(Dad) in my room , what is it ?

(Ed) I wanted to ask about the 2 you add at the end of your name ...

Ed's parents had never told him anything about soul call due to curtain circumstances, when he asks about the 2 , his Dad didn't know what to and so he stays quiet.

(Ed) Also , I found out about soul call today, there's a transfer student in class that also has the number "2" at the end of his name. So.... You have died before ?

Dad never wanted him to find the truth so he makes up a story that he died in an accident once. After this Ed heads back to his room to call Yuki and tell about the soul call, as it turns out Yuki didn't know anything about soul call either, again they find it strange because most of the class knew about soul call and just wanted to know how he died or what does it feel like now.

After this they started suspecting their parents that they were hiding something. They decided to ask their parents and talk about it in class

In Class

(Ed) Anything ??

(Yuki) nope.... you?

(Ed) Nothing.... Actually I remember something, when I first told my mom about you, she told me not to say her name in this house, if dad finds out you will be in grave danger....

(Yuki) Seriously!!? My mom said "don't ever talk to that boy even in class"

(Ed) maybe there's a connection between our family, maybe your dad and my dad know each other or maybe my mom-----

(Yuki) I don't have a dad....

(Ed) sorry..... what's happened ?

(Yuki) He died when I was 6 or 7, mom says it was a heart problem

(Ed) Soul call ?

(Yuki) I didn't know about soul call before !

(Ed) oh yeah ! hmm .....

(Yuki) I have a weird question .... Did you feel like we have met before when we first saw each other?

(Ed) Not weird at all .... Because I did feel like we have met before, although I don't remember ,but it feels like a long time ago....

(Yuki) hmmm..... now there's definitely something our parents are hiding

(Ed) Well I think we should keep quiet about this because what if it's something serious we don't want to know about...

(Yuki) you are no fun, I will ask my parents, you don't if you don't want to...

(Ed) Ok ! they will probably lie or change topic or something...

(Yuki) I will try ...

(Ed) call me if you find something new

(Yuki) I will

Yuki goes back home and talks about Ed again, second time since she first told his name ,

(Yuki's mom) so you did talk to him

(Yuki) not talk, we have been friends since ...

Yuki's Mom was confused whether to tell about the past or not, she eventually does tell Yuki the whole story. At first, Yuki was shocked, but then told Mom that he's different from his family, Yuki's mom didn't listen to anything Yuki said after that,

she just told her to completely forget that kid, Yuki goes back to her room decides to keep it a secret from him

-------------------------------Next Day In Class-------------------------------

(Ed) you asked ?

(Yuki) I did ........ but nothing ...

(Ed) well ,I have some news, I asked my big brother about you

(Yuki) what did he say ?

(Ed) At first he spaced out after hearing your name but the he told me that our fathers were brothers but your dad died a long time ago, he told me that we used to play when we were little ,I asked why we haven't meet each other for so long, he said he doesn't know why.... I have an idea , you ask your mom about about your dad's death and why they didn't soul call, I will ask my brother, I am pretty sure the answers will be different

Yuki already knew everything but she doesn't want to ruin the friendship they have right now, so she goes along the conversation .

Ed at home

(Ed to big brother) Do you know how Yuki's dad died ?

(brother) .......yes , it was a car accident

(Ed) why didn't they soul call ?

(brother) If a person dies , you can soul call him within an hour of death, after that it won't work.

(Ed) so they couldn't find out about his death early.

(brother) probably ....

next day in class

(Ed) I asked my brother and he said car accident and the reason of not soul calling was they couldn't find about his death earlier

(Yuki) my mom said it was a heart problem and they couldn't find about his death earlier because he wasn't at home at that time

(Ed) See the cause is different..... how do I ask them about the truth........

(Yuki) um..... (Yuki thinks maybe she should tell him the truth)

(Ed) what?

(Yuki) .... it's nothing , nothing......

The remaining 6 month until their graduation pass , they didn't discuss about each other at homes and just lives their normal school life. On the graduation day Yuki asks Ed to come to that tower they always used to hangout at. After graduation

they both go home, Ed gets changed to meet here at the tower. when he reaches that tower, there she was, still in uniform, standing at the edge of the tower, and said "don't come closer or I will jump".

(Ed) hey!! graduation joke or something, that dangerous you know ....

(Yuki) not a joke ,I am serious, listen to what I have to say ,

(Ed) ...... what

(Yuki) I knew....

(Ed) knew....?

(Yuki) about our past, our parents and why we didn't meet for so long, my mom told me some months ago, hearing all that ,I didn't wanted to tell you because I was afraid it would have affected our friendship

(Ed shock, confused) tell me about our past...

(Yuki) Our father were brothers, yours was the elder one, both were in business, my dad had always been successful in his every decision he made in his work and your dad was jealous of that, because he was a failure as a business man. out of jealousy , your father killed my my and took his business in hand. the reason my mom didn't soul call because your dad hid my dad's body for about an hour, And he couldn't hide his murder for long because he was a dumb person, eventually ended up in court and was sentenced to death, but your dad used my dad's profit to hire someone to exchange his soul with(the guy's family will get the money).your dad had threatened your mom so much to accept the soul call after my death that out of fear she accepts. Because of this, the hatred increased so much that my mom didn't wanted to meet your whole family, thus the reason we didn't meet for so long...

(Ed) ....... so.... that's the reason there's a 2 next to my dad's name ......but that doesn't give you any reason to suicide....

(Yuki) Think about it, this hatred will never end as long as our family lives, we are best friends now, in the future, even if I want to marry you..... we can't, and it would hurt to marry someone else while you're still live, so one of us has to die....

(Ed) This wasn't the great time for proposal but....but listen , how about we talk to our families, it's our decision to get married, not theirs and I am not a bad person anymore, I changed------

(Yuki) my mom doesn't know that you changed, she doesn't believe it either, I told her ,but she just doesn't want to hear about you or your family

(Ed) but-----

(Yuki) listen, this is pointless, I don't want to waste more of your time, we shouldn't have met in the first place, it is my fault that I was Persistent to become friends,I shouldn't have tried to be friends with you,I am sorry but please don't regret anything that happens today, live your life , find someone better than me, and-------

(Ed) what would your mom say if she finds out about your suicide, she's gonna blame it on----

(Yuki) don't worry, I left a suicide note explaining everything and clearing the point that you were not involved in this.

and please don't soul call me...

(Ed) what, why ?

(Yuki) because I will try to suicide again ,there's no point in bringing me back, good bye Ed , good bye....( she jumps....)

(Ed) (As he runs forward to stop her) No .... no.... NOOOOO!!!!!!

(he didn't make it)

at this instant, Ed starts a one hour timer on his phone, goes down to the tower, sees her dead..... picks her up and runs towards her house thinking that he will never let this happen, ever.

35 mins passed he reaches her home, rings the bell , and texts his family that he's at Yuki's house. the door opens...

(Yuki's mom) oh God.... I knew it, the note.... it wasn't a joke,

(Ed walks in the house holding Yuki , drenched in sweat)

mom calls Yuki's little sister to get car keys , they are going to find some for soul exchange

(mom to Ed) how much minutes are left ?

(Ed) around 20 ....

(Mom talking to Yuki's little sister) we have to hurry and find someone fast...

(Ed) listen to me please.....

(Mom) we don't have time to listen to you ....

(Ed) it's about soul call , I will do it....

(Mom confused) what ...

(Ed) I will exchange my soul with hers

(mom) about your family ?

(Ed) I called them, they will be here soon

(mom) you OK with that ?

(Ed) of course, it was my fault that I asked her to walk home with me everyday so I could avoid stealing, if I hadn't asked her , she would be alive now...

his family arives, 15 min are left. His family get in , he explains the situation , his mom tells him to stop this nonsense, his mom and his brother were really really against it, but you need everyones permission in your family to exchange soul with someone ,his dad was quiet , didn't say a word , then suddenly leans down and whispers something in the ears of Ed's mom and brother, telling them to believe him(dad) it's going to be OK, then suddenly everyone agrees, Ed finds it weird and wanted to find out what his dad said but 5 mins were left , he didn't wanted to waste anymore time , so he said goodbye to everyone and held Yuki's hand and counted 10 seconds

10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2...1 ......... he drops dead and Yuki wakes up at the same time, when he died his dad says to start a 1 hour timer and get in the car with Ed's body and heads home, while at Yuki's home

(when a person is soul called, his/ hers broken bones and Minor injuries are healed instantly, only if the brain and heart is still intact with the body)

(Yuki's mum) welcome back ... Yuki 2 !

( Yuki 2 ) huh..... who was that kid over me and why there were so many people and Yuki 2....??? ( a person who dies and is soul called, forgets the reason and people related to his/ her death)

(Yuki's mom) relax, relax , I will tell you everything but first go to your room...

the suicide note Yuki left said to tell me to go to my room when I wake up, she also wrote that Ed will come and tell to exchange his soul for mine but her mom didn't believe that he would ever do that until he actually did it.

at Ed's place (outside)

(Ed's Mom) wait..... you told us to believe in you, I thought we were going to look for someone to soul call, Why did you bring us back here.....

(Ed's Dad) I told you to believe in me.... please still keep doing..... get inside

they all get in with Ed's body

(Ed's Dad) lay him down on the floor, I am exchanging my soul for his ....

To bring back someone through soul call, you should be at that person's house, it can't be done elsewhere.

(Ed's Mom) WHAT!!!! you Know this is your last life, We can't bring you back after this !

(Ed's Dad) I Know! But this is at least I can do for the problems I have caused you for so long. I don't remember anything about me murdering my brother. I only know because you told me, my thirst for Money caused all this, I can't change.... So please let me do this much, he gave his life for someone important to him, I want to do that too

(Ed's Mom) No!... look you have changed, you are trying to sacrifice yourself,we still have 50 min, we can find someone to exchange his soul with...

(Ed's Dad) I regret the number 2, I don't want it anymore, this is the only way, please just let me exchange , please....

(Ed's Mom) what about work , who will work to feed this family-----

(Ed's Dad points at Ed's brother) You ! you will continue my business, there's still enough money if the business doesn't go well, start a job or something, keep supporting this family,

40 min left, Ed's mom agrees to soul call, Ed's Dad holds Ed's hand, 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Goodbye! 0.......

Ed wakes up, his dad fells, Ed asks "Who's this old man?"

Mom realizes that his dad had a big part in his death so obviously he wouldn't remember him

(Ed's mom) get up Ed 2... we will explain everything !....

Ed's mom explains everything, his past , relationship with Yuki, who that guy , what's soul call, Everything. After hearing this Ed's says "I want meet this Yuki person, will you take me to her ?" his mom says "of course!" , Mom gets up, calls Yuki's mother, explains what Happened, and asks if Ed can meet Yuki after Ed's dad's funeral, she happily agrees

Yuki's mom has forgiven Ed's family for saving her daughter's life, And right now Ed and Yuki are alone sitting next to each other

(Yuki) So you must be Ed Briggs....

(Ed) yeah .... and you are Yuki ?

(Yuki) yes.... so..... we have died once....

(Ed) hmmm.... doesn't fell that weird besides my mom told me we were best friends but I don't remember everything!

(Yuki) actually , there's something interesting my previous self left for us...

(Ed) what is it ?

(Yuki) my diary ! there's everything written in it , what we did everyday , how we became friends and also... how you used to steal and I helped you...

(Ed) can I have it I want to know about my previous self more

(Yuki) we can read it together, it will be alot more fun this way

(Ed) yeah, good idea!

(Yuki) Thank You !

(Ed) for what ?

(Yuki) for saving my life, I read the suicide note I left and and the last message I wrote to me ,and it turns out, my past self knew you pretty well, and now that everything's normal between our families, there won't be a problem marrying you. Looks like my suicide wasn't in vain !

(Ed) yeah ! it wasn't .....

after this they read the diary together, found out about many things about each other. Now they live a normal life with no secrets and regrets
