"My lady, the carriage is here." Peizhi bowed. Yingyue stood up and walked to the gates of the Huang Mansion. There, she was greeted by Concubine Lie who was glaring at her intensely. When she neared the carriage, Concubine Lie was quick to fire off her mouth.
"Huang Yingyue! Who gave you the permission to leave this mansion today?" Concubine Lie called out smugly. Yingyue looked at the concubine, agitated. She waved her hand in a disregarding manner and ignored the concubine. Lie reeled in anger. "Why you -!"
Concubine Lie gathered magic in her palm and aimed to slap Yingyue. The said girl caught the concubine's wrist just before it hit her face. Yingyue stared at the concubine coldly before throwing her across the gates. In a steely voice, she seethed, "You know, I planned to ignore the fact that you had someone to drag me all the way to the woods to kill me. But apparently, that wasn't enough for you. You even have the guts to hit me while I am not looking? You must have no more dignity left in that body of yours, Concubine Lie. Now leave, you disgrace of a woman. I have important things to attend to."
Daiyu and Peizhi smirked at the lowly concubine who was struggling to stand, and then looked at their master in awe. Yingyue continued walking to the carriage and got on like nothing ever happened. After everything was done and prepared, the carriage set off to the herbal shop. The herbal shop was currently the nearest shop that was closest to the Huang Mansion. It was open only a few weeks before Yingyue was thrown into the forest. It didn't surprise her that the herbal shop was the one with the most dropping sales. After a few minutes, they had already arrived.
Yingyue got off the carriage, Daiyu and Peizhi immediately stepping forward to assist her in any way. Afterwards, she walked towards the shop, where she found some men talking to the current shop manager. The current shop manager was named Zhang Wei. Zhang Wei was appointed manager by Yingyue when the shop opened. When they neared the shop, Yingyue called out loudly. "What is happening here?"
Zhang Wei caught sight of her and immediately kowtowed. "My lady, please forgive Zhang Wei."
"Rise, tell me what is going on." Yingyue said coldly, staring at the men standing in front of the herbal shop.
"Are you the owner of this shop?" One of the men asked rudely.
"Yes, indeed I am, now I am not going to ask again. What is happening here?" Yingyue repeated. The men scoffed.
"Pay up your debt, sugar plum." A man, who is obviously their leader, replied snarkily at Yingyue.
"How much, Zhang Wei?" Yingyue asked, turning to the manager of the shop.
"100 t-taels of silver, my lady." Zhang Wei stuttered.
"Yeah, but interest exists, idiot." one of the men spat. "It's been a week. It's 200 taels now."
"Daiyu, get 200 taels of silver from the carriage." Yingyue instructed.
"Yes, my lady." Daiyu bowed.
