Episode 4: only one person can drive like this

The two of them passed the speed bumps and their cars flipped over and exploded. “YEAH!” he exclaimed happily. “The show just started! Feng, I’m waiting for you to come.” he said starting the engine and headed to Zone 5.

“Sh*t! Feng, the guy knows the road. Looks like he came prepared, he’s coming to you. I’ll be on my way too!” said Hawk. He took the key for his car and before he left the surveillance room, he took a glance at the coffee on his table. “Nah, it can’t be.” he said and left closing the door after him.

“Who on Earth in this guy and what is he after?” thought Feng driving violently. When he almost reached Zone 5, the man stopped the car. After few seconds he saw Feng’s car in the dusty air few miles away from him. “Feng, you didn’t even change your car. How can you expect to beat me?” he thought. “What is he waiting for? Am I a joke to him?”. He accelerate the car and drove in his direction ready to hit the car. “You want to race? I’ll show you how to race!” said Feng. “Hehe, Feng let me see if you forgot who’s the better racer.” said the man. He took a turn with the car and drove in reverse ready to take the hit. “This move!” thought Feng startled. “Feng, pay attention!” said Hawk through the radio. “There is only one person who can drive like this. Maybe I should have taken the coffee.” he thought and turned off the cameras.

When their cars almost reached each other, both of them pressed the hand break and drifted at a very small distance far from each other avoiding a fatal crush. When their cars stopped drifting, they were facing each other. Feng lowered the window, took out his gun and asked shocked “Who the hell are you?”. The man lowered the window as well and reached out his empty hand instead, showing the numbers 2 and 3 with his fingers.

A flashback passed fast through Feng’s and Hawk’s mind, who has just reached the place. A memory that will never be forgotten, of the old days when they were only 14 and they were driving their cars while Chen was supervising them. She was the best at driving in reverse after Chen, but her drift was never completed. Perhaps she has taken after him, after all as the saying goes, as father as daughter. The image of her energetic and confident smile showing “23” after every improvement, is not something one can forget; her lucky number, her code. “ECLAIR!!” shouted Feng and Hawk. She start reving the engine, removed her hat and her long black hair was waving in the wind.

At only 9 years, Eclair has obtained a Tae Kwon Do black belt, but she used to attend classes even after that, to learn more from the older students. One day she run away from their class saying it was “too boring to beat everyone” and decided to go for a stroll in the neighborhood. Between the buildings she saw a group of 5 boys, close to her age bullying two younger homeless looking kids. Their clothes were all broken and dirty, their faces were dusty with some fresh blood on, from their wounds. They were beaten really bad and could barely stand. One boy from the group got closer to the kids and said “Nobody cares even if you die, you have no family, haha!”. He reached out his hand to punch them again, but Eclair grabbed it and stopped him.

“Didn’t your parents teach you, not to mistreat the weak ones?” she said. “Who dares to stop me? I’ll beat you” said the boy reaching his hand higher to slap her, but Eclair flipped him over and punched him. The other boys got scared and planned to run away, but Eclair went after them and beat them all. The boy on the ground got up saying “I will tell my father about you!” and ran away. “Oh, that’s cute! You think I care? Haha!” she replied laughing. “We’ll see who’s laughing in the end” he said in the distance. “Bla, bla, bla, I’m only afraid of my father. I promised him I won’t punch any guys today” she continued in a lower voice.

“Em, excuse me!” said one of the saved boys. “Um, th-thank you very much! Me and my brother are really grateful to you!” he continued, kneeling in front of her. “Eh? Hey, get up!” said Eclair. “But we don’t have any money or way to repay your kindness, please forgive us!” said the other one. “It’s okay, I don’t need anything. My mother always tells me to not expect anything in return when you do something good. If you expect something, you are doing business not kindness” she continued. The kids were looking at her with admiration. “What’s your name?” she asked. “I’m Feng and this is my brother Hawk” he said.
