We reached the apartment. The balcony of her room was very nice. The summer winds when they hit my face, they brought back memories of my hometown, which I wanted to forget. But I hoped they from that time onwards, I would make new memories with new people, which only brought happiness to my soul when I recalled them. Then we had breakfast And I had something that I never had before in my life. But I wished that I could get used to the new environment as soon as possible. And a little after noon, she took me somewhere. I didn't know where she was taking me. I just followed her because she told me to do so. We reached the bus stop. There she told me to watch for a few minutes and then she left. The streets were full. Cars, bikes, buses, bicycles, they were all moving on at their own pace. The bus stop was getting slightly overcrowded. I thought that maybe a bus was going to stop there soon. I saw an old lady standing near the pole. I called her and gave her my seat. And just after that her bus arrived. She thanked me for offering her seat and left with a smile. My eyes walked along with her and I stopped to see her get up the bus safely as a lot of people were getting down as well. I could see familiar face getting down from that bus. Dreamy eyes, bed hair,..headphones!? 'Oh! It's that guy from yesterday.' I just remembered. Then our eyes met. I wondered if he remember me. But he wasn't alone, I guessed. Girly hands, holding his shirt from behind. I figured out that he must be on a date. I wondered if it was his first time on a date because he didn't seem to take much interest in girl. Or maybe, he's a playboy? And, he left with his girlfriend still clinging to his shirt. I kind of pitied that girl.
Few minutes were long gone, but Alison wasn't back yet. The bus stop became less crowded. My mind wandered off somewhere too. I started thinking, ' What would I be doing if I were still back in my village?' I was gonna doze off, when all of a sudden someone hit my back. It was Alison. 'Hey! Can you not say something when you come? I just freaked out and..who..is..he..?' I was amazed. She again brought some guy with her. Was it her new boyfriend or just a friend? Whoever he was, I felt uneasy from the very beginning because he was smiling. Smiling without any reason. He's been looking at me and smiling for like a minute. 'Hey, hey Tracey...calm down. Don't you freak out. He is my boyfriend's cousin and..' she stopped all of a sudden and looked at him. I was asking Alison in my mind that if he was her boyfriend's cousin, then why bring him along !? Alison continued with a strange look at that guy, 'Hey Alex, stop smiling and staring at her. You are creeping her out, don't you see?'
So his name was Alex. And finally at the call of my Almighty friend, he took his eyes off me. Alison put her arms one around mine and another around Alex and pulled both us to somewhere she called a park. We could not help but follow her. But where we went was according to me, just table with four chairs under an umbrella and some snack bars nearby. 'How can you call this a park. I remember seeing in TVs that parks have swings, see-saws, slides, and many more.' I thought to myself. But that place did not have any one of them. I wondered if city people preferred that kin of parks. However, three of us sat there. And we ordered some light juice to freshen up. Alison was very excited. She told me that that guy was going to be my classmate, as he was also attending the same college, and told him to introduce himself.
He started, ' Hi. I am Alex. I hope we become good friends. I like tomboys with pretty faces, just like you. Nice to meet you...'
