Planar Distortion

Miss Ribbon / Part 1

"Cerulean! Cerulean! Are you ok?!"

A panicked voice called out to her. Despite the fog in her mind she tried her best to answer.

"Cerulean? Who's that?"

"What? That's you. Sweetie please tell me you're not hurt."

"No, I'm not... and who are you?"

She questioned, rubbing her eyes and clearing her vision.

In front of her was a woman, Her eyes were a ruby red that shone brilliantly. She was short with pale white skin and hair. Wearing leather combat garb and a large blue ribbon on her head. She was caked in what looked to be blood, panting and shivering.

"You don't remember me? I'm your wife!"

She held up her right hand showing a crystal ring with a blue and pink butterfly as the centerpiece.

She stopped and looked at her own hands. Blood, and the same ring the other woman was wearing.

What?

"I don't remem- No! I don't know you! Where am I!?"

She looked around trying to take in as much of the surroundings in as she can. A medow covered in ash blue grass, glass like sculptures erupting into the air like lighting, the air smelled like soot and tar. In the near distance she saw two figures hunched over what looked like a body of a wounded animal.

She tried to stand up, but pain shot through her. Looking at her own body she saw multiple slash wounds on her chest and abdomen.

What?

"Slow down, so you are hurt. Do you really not remember me?" The other woman's brow furrowed.

She shook her head as her throat tightened and tears start to well up in her eyes. She's trying her damned hardest to calm her panicking brain, but it's not working.

"Even if you don't reme- I mean, know me, can i please patch you up, i swear it won't hurt"

"Ok..."

The other woman waved her right hand, drawing complex runes in the air. The area glowed as a neddle materialized between her fingers, already threaded with a golden fiber.

She pushed the neddle through one of the slash wound and started sowing the skin back together. It didn't hurt that much, suprisingly.

"So, what's your name?"

The woman flinched, she wasn't expecting that question.

"...Vixi, it's Vixi."

"My name's Lavinia. Sorry, I didn't tell you earlier."

"No, It's fine, I already knew that."

"Then, why did you call me Cerulean?"

"It's your codename, mine is Ribbon. Those two," She shook her head to the direction of the two figures in the distance "Are Tide and Seraph respectively."

"Then, what happened to me? How did i get here?"

Vixi stopped, she sighed.

"We were assigned a mission to stop a rampaging Shifter. We got ambushed, but fought him off. In the fray you saved me from a curse and ended up here. No need for more details."

"Ah, ok."

They both stayed quiet after that. There are still so many questions in her head; "What are Shifters? Who are those two people? Ambushed? Mission? And... wife?" She looked at her blood soaked hands and the ring. But there wasn't enough energy between the two of them to keep the conversation going.

It was a long, confusing day. And she'd be sure there would be more questions tomorrow, but now it's time to rest.
