chapter 1:The curse is back

Kyla POV;

When I got up from my bed I felt cold tears coming from my eyes.

'Is it a dream or a reality? I asked in my mind.

I nervously ask myself a question mixed with bitterness, pain, and agony.

'Am I gonna be the next?'

'Will I be able to keep my promise to my father and mother?'

'There are so many people in the world why me?'

"Who am I? What am I?"

Those are the questions in my mind with no answers.

I looked around

A mirror on the side of the bed, a closet near the dressing room, a table full of food and flowers in the middle of the room ... a simple lifestyle that I want to stay with for the rest of my life ..but why does my conscience keep hunting me ... hate and anger is in the flesh of my heart.

'My papa, why must it be you?'

I smiled bitterly as I remembered what had happened three years ago.

I was back in reality when I heard someone call my name.

"KYLA COME DOWN, WE SHOULD GO ON THE MARKET NOW OR ELSE THERE WILL BE NO PLACES FOR US TO STAY IN WITH "

I smiled when I heard her voice, She is Unice..the woman that I considered my sister, In her house,I temporarily lived and worked.

I immediately got up and hurried to wash and get dressed, I tied my hair in a knot.

When I got down, I immediately picked up the loads and carried them to the carriage ... now we live in the village and we are going straight to town to sell, the transportation takes five hours in the carriage and 2 minutes using teleportation magic but we only have a carriage so we will leave at two in the morning.

When we arrived in town, we were going to be separated.

"Kyla the prices per kilo remember it okay!"

"Yes," I replied to my sister Unice.

"I'm going north while Maria is in the east, Carlos is in the southeast and Hans is in the squatter side in the far west," said brother Nelson, brother of sister Unice.

"Okay, I'll just go to the west," said Unice

"All right, then ill be in the southwest, I'll be stationed near the dark alley, Unice you go first, you'll walk a long way"

"All right, goodbye Kyla and brother Nelson," said Unice.

Brother Nelson replied with a smile.

"Kyla, go stay right in the middle of the market you'll see Mika there and I'll make sure you're safe there since there are a lot of people in that place and there aren't too many soldiers as long as you don't act suspicious, it's hard especially since the law is useless nowadays, go ahead and be careful "older brother Nelson reminded and patted my arm at the same time. I smiled and nodded in response.

When my older brother Nelson and I deviated to go in my direction, I suddenly felt the pain in my head again, so much pain that I could hardly describe it. It was as if my head was split in two while someone was whispering to me.

"Death for life, night for light, the punishment shall be granted to mankind in order to survive good will die evil will celebrate his another year of time"

"Arrrgggghhhhhhh"

It lingers to my ear

I close my eyes because of the pain.

When I opened my eyes I saw a scene that was unbelievable to the eye.

A man was been beheaded by a person wrapped in black but suddenly it just disappear like ash

"B-Bro-Brother Nelson?" I said while my tears were dripping.

'The curse is back! Why now? why? I thought it was gone a year ago '-I said in my mind.

My eyesight darkened and I seemed to have carried myself out of my mind when I was seven years old.

An old woman was standing in front of our little house. I stopped closing the window when I noticed that the old woman was acting strangely as if she was waiting for someone . I looked up when I saw soldiers approaching the woman, they are talking but a minute later I notice that it was not a simple conversation because the woman and the soldiers raise their voices. it seems they have been arguing about something. Moments later the soldiers left and the woman followed while looking left and right

"Kyla, it's time to eat dinner!"

My papa called me for dinner when I accidentally have eye contact with the woman, because of shock I quickly close the window.

"Yes father be right there"

I was about to stand up but I suddenly felt dizzy and felt a pain in my head.

'Why? Why? What's going on? What's happening ?it hurts, please stop it, that's what I said in my mind when I called my papa.

I heard a faint whisper but I understood nothing of what it wore except for the word "justice for the dead and the living"

I was distracted by the shout.

"Kyla !!"

Little by little I could see the world again.

"Mika" I gasped calling his name.

"Oh what? Are you okay?"

I nodded in response.

I slowly stood up while Mika helped me.

"I'll take care of it," he said while grabbing my things.

As we walk to our seats I notice the new paper on the bulletin board . I stop and stare at it for a long time

Witness: either died from poison or suicide

"Death cases?" I asked myself

"Kyla ,lets go" Mika calls me

I quickly complied and prepared the goods

"Hey,  miss did you hear the news?" A lady said

I guess she in her mid 30s

"Oh my gosh, are you gossiping again?" A saleswoman said after hearing what the lady said in front of our stall

"Hey no, it's about the reported dead cases it said that someone murder them," said the lady

"Murder?" I asked

"Yeah, haven't you heard?" Said the lady

I shook in denial

"Hays fine I'll tell you, my son has a friend that happened to be a soldier who said that the corpses found were beheaded and the bodies divided in the middle they no longer have lungs and the wonder is why the kind ones are killed, " the lady said

"Woah really," said the shocked buyer

"Ah you remember Kiko the dumb kind gardener who always gives flowers to the elderly and food to the beggar and money to the orphanage" -lady

"Ah, the handsome gardener, what's wrong with him," Mika asked

"She is also one of the victims of the murder and the strange thing here is that all the victims are not only kind. They also look beautiful and handsome. People with beautiful faces are targeted by the killer, rich or poor the killer keeps killing. It's getting dangerous especially at night since it's dark and people are asleep so For now just sleep at Lavender Spring Inn first. tomorrow, you can go home, maybe you'll be the next target " the lady said

When we finished cleaning, and we said goodbye to each other

"It's a serious conversation, I guess it's just coincidence," I said

"But there's no such thing as conscience," I said

"Who do you think the killer is?" I added

While walking I said something I wish I never did

"Mika, you're weird. You've been quiet for a while. Are you the killer hahaha" I joked

he stared at me for 2 minutes and I could see his glaring eyes ... but why Mika's aura is like that ... it's different from the Mika that I know ...

For a while, my head hurt again

"MIKA" I called hisn ame

He stared at me without emotion in his eyes but after a while, he helped me

"Oh, Kyla you alright?" Mika said

Remembering the old day's he's Different from the Mira that I know

The Mika who always makes me laugh even when he's feeling body pain the more he will keep nagging me and tell jokes and stories just to make me laugh ... he is not the Mika I met

"W-who are you?" I ask

"Huh what are you saying Kyla?"

"I said who are you !!" I shouted in response

He walked closer to me, closer and closer, slowly I noticed his change

I ran and ran even if I did have a direction where could I go? I don't know anyone I don't care anymore I just ran with my feet I don't care where my body is taking me

Why? Why is it happening to me it's impossible .I'm out of my mind I don't think I can survive this
