RYAN'S POV

I drove her off to her house as she got down the car and then turned around and smiled at me

Rose

Thanks for dropping me!

She said

Well... All that is fine but I don't know how am I going to drive back home... It's snowing all around the roads are covered with snow.

Ryan

I guess I'll have to wait! Ugh, so annoying!

I banged my fist irritated at the steering as she looked at me for a while and then suggested

Rose

You know, if you feel it's okay... You can maybe come in and wait for the storm to stop in my house?

Rose

I'll make some coffee for you, decaff. As you like it?

Ryan

Em.. Well...

I sort of gave it a thought when my cellphone jingled and it was Ruth calling me

Ryan

📱Hey babe?

I answered the call.

Ruth

📱It's snowing so heavily, where are you? Stuck at work?

Ryan

📱Actually.. I'm stuck on my way.. The roads are pretty ugly with the snow all over

Ruth

📱Oh... Umm... So, what are you gonna do?

Ryan

📱Where are you, at work?

Ruth

📱No, I reached home before the storm got ugly. I'm with Irene. I just called to say that stay where you are and wait till the storm dies. You don't have to risk your life coming back home in a weather like this, okay?

Ryan

📱Uhh.. Okay! Well... I'm at...

I looked at Rose and weirdly she gestured me to lie to her about me being at Rose's place.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I don't understand but I decided to play along

Ryan

📱I'm at Nicole's bar. I guess I'll wait here till the storm dies down

Ruth

📱Alright!

Ruth

📱Call me when you drive back home, okay?

Ruth

📱stay safe!

Ryan

📱Yep, you too, take care of Irene...bye!

And I disconnected the call and looked at Rose

Ryan

Why did you make me lie to her? I could have told her the truth!

Rose

I don't know... I just don't feel comfortable about your wife knowing about you and me!

Ryan

Well she doesn't know anything about our past, I haven't told her anything.

She looked at me surprised as I got off the car and we both walked inside her house

For the time there, I sat down on her couch in the living room switching on the tv set, watching the news of storm while she was making us two cups of coffee

Where's your husband by the way?

I asked her while she were bringing the coffee mugs

Rose

We got divorced. It's been a long time!

She said handing me the cup

Ryan

Oh, umm.. I didn't know that...

I grind my jaw embarrassed about not knowing the marital status of my own secretary.

Rose

*chuckles* I guess you were too busy with your own married life, you seem very happy living with Ruth?
