The Visit

Skylar ran back to the school building. She found that Ama and Kyria managed to safe their classmates and other kids. They all gathered in the school’s first gym.

“Skylar! Thank God, you’re okay,” Ama quickly pulled her friend into a hug. She received a hug back.

“I’m perfectly fine, how’s the other?” Skylar asked as she pulled away from the hug.

“It seems like they got some mental shock,” Kyria walked up. She just finished checking some kids’ condition.

Skylar nodded. She threw her attention to people inside the gym. All of them had a face full of fear and shock. Not a little of them could hold their tears back. She just let out a sigh.

“Attention, please!” A voice rang through the gym.

Everybody turned their attention to the door of the gym. The school headmaster, Mr. Scott, stood there. Two teachers followed him. “I’m really sorry for what happened today, this is something that we all don’t even know, but I can promise you’re all safe now,” he said.

“But, Sir, can we go home? It’s safer there,” Caroline asked with a small voice.

“That was my plan,” Mr. Scott sighed.

“Was?” Forctis asked.

“Yes. Looked like our school wasn’t the only place that have been attacked,” he said.

Gasps filled the gym. Sounds of cries followed soon.

“Everyone, please calm down, I know we have a difficult time here, we all have, but please just believe in us, we’ll make sure you’re alright,” Mr. Scott said. “Because of some attacks in the city, our school is one of the refugee now, some soldiers and medical teams are on their way here to keep this place safe. I know this might be hard for you all, but right now, we need some help from you to treat the victims. We’re begging your willingness.”

Soon after, people started to talk their minds out. ‘What does he mean’, ‘we are in danger, we also need some treatment’, ‘how stupid is he’, and other words of disagreement would be heard.

Skylar could see the stress from Mr. Scott’s eyes. Of course he was pretty stressed. The day went well and suddenly someone attacked his school, just like a declaration of war. Once he found a way to resolve the problem in the school, the same thing happened to the city and he was asked to do something for the citizens. The first plan of keeping his students safe changed into a plan to keep the citizens safe.

“Mr. Scott,” Dyn called.

The school headmaster turned his attention to the kuudere guy.

“Can you please lead us to where the victims gathered?” Kyria asked.

Mr. Scott’s eyes lightened up. The same thing happened to the two teachers behind him. “Please follow me,” he said.

Skylar nodded to her friends. They nodded back. And five of them followed their teachers.

Citizens filled the gym. Luckily, not many of them were hurt. Some people got some scratch there and there, but it could be treated quickly. That didn’t mean nobody was truly hurt. A few people had a large scar on their body. It opened up and blood flowed out. They could die in s short time because losing too much blood.

Apart from the wounds they have, the expression of fear and terror were showed by them. People young and old couldn’t help to stop theirselves from being scared. No matter how much they like fantasy world and used to be someone who protects people in their imagination, the attack was able to make them scared.

Skylar and her friends just finished treated the wounded citizens. When they arrived at the gym, the medical teams arrived too. She still had her katana with her. It slung over her shoulder by a black ribbon. The same thing happened to her friends. They got some strange looks from people when they stepped in to the gym, but the looks soon replaced by their fearful expression.

“Brother,” A sob was heard from the corner of the gym. The teenagers quickly turned their attention towards the spot. They saw two boys around 6 years old sat closely to each other. One of them was crying, while the other one seemed like trying to calm him down. They teenagers approached them.

“It’s okay, we’re safe here,” One of the little boys said.

Ama kneeled down in front of them. “Hello,” she greeted in a soft voice.

The boys looked up. Ama and the others were surprised by the little boys’ faces. It seemed like they’re a twin.

“What’s your name?” Ama asked.

“My name is Shawn, this is Sean,” the not-crying boy replied.

“My name is Ama, they all my friends. Skylar, Kyria, Dyn, and Forctis,” Ama introduced herself and her friends one by one.

Kyria followed Ama, she kneeled down in front of the kids. “Sean, why are you crying?” she asked as she put a hand on Sean’s shoulder. Sean just shook his head.

“Your brother was right, you’re safe here,” Forctis said.

“B-but, how about Mom and Dad?” Sean pulled his hands from his face.

Everybody were speechless. They couldn’t utter any words. They couldn’t just say ‘your parents are fine’ or ‘your parents are safe’. They didn’t even know the kids’ parents. And they didn’t know what happened out there.

“Don’t worry, we’ll find them,” Skylar said.

Her friends and the kids quickly jerked their heads towards her. The teenagers had an unbelievable look on their face. Forctis had a look of ‘what the hell did you just say’. But both the kids had a happy face. They rushed to Skylar. “Thank you so much,” they said in unison. Skylar just nodded her head.

“Now you both better take some rest, the food will be here when you wake up,” Dyn said. Seemed like he just played along with what Skylar just said. Kyria too, she went somewhere to find a blanket.

Shawn and Sean nodded. Sean stopped crying. They sat down on the floor and received the blanket Kyria gave them. After making sure at the kids’ condition, the teenagers left.

“Now Skylar, what are you gonna do?” Ama asked.

“Look for their parents of course, what else?” Skylar replied calmly.

“Skylar, you know how dangerous out there! The attack might be stopped but the possibility of them attacking again is not a zero, besides, it’s dark now!” Ama said.

“If you don’t wanna come, I’ll go by myself,” replied the short haired girl.

“Sky-“

“Ms. Allenloper!” A voice cut Ama’s sentence. Skylar turned her face to where the voice came from. Mr. Scott were running towards her.

“Is there anything I can do?” Skylar asked after Mr. Scott arrived in front of her.

“No, I mean, yes, someone wants to meet you,” the school headmaster said.

“Who is it?” Skylar asked.

“The king of Primera.”

Skylar just tilted her head, clearly couldn’t understand what Mr. Scott’s mean. But before she could ask, Mr. Scott pulled her to the school’s building.

Four guys. They sat on the sofa in the school headmaster’s office. Their clothes were completely different from other people. It looked like they live in a castle.

“How do you think her looks?” Vechter asked his brother who sat beside him.

“I don’t have any idea,” Fascino replied.

Suddenly, the door opened. “Excuse me, Your Majesty. I have the person you’re looking for,” Mr. Scott said. He stepped in to his office and mentioned Skylar to follow him. After that, he closed the door. He sat on an empty chair. Skylar sat after she was being told by him. She couldn’t stop herself from staring at the four guys.

“Skylar Allenloper?” Vechter asked.

“Yes, I am,” Skylar replied.

Vechter stood up. “It’s good to finally meet you,” he said as he pulled Skylar up from her seat and clasped his hands around the girl’s hand.

“Y-yeah, thank you,” Skylar replied. She backed away a little. He’s too close.

Fascino coughed, “Brother.”

“Oh, sorry,” Vechter grinned before he returned to his seat.

“Never forget that you’re the king here,” Fascino reminded his brother.

“Alright, alright,” Vechter said. “So, wehere do I start, Rio?” he looked at his advisor.

“Ms. Allenloper-“

“Um, Skylar is enough.”

Rio nodded. “Skylar, before I tell you everything, please let me introduce myself and them, I am Consiliario Draz, King Vechter’s advisor. Over there is Prince Fascino, the twin brother of King Vechter. And the guy over there is Glavo Machitis, the private guard.”

Skylar kept herself silent.

“We are from Primera, the country of living. I am really sorry because our visit was too sudden. We are here to meet you, someone that chosen by the tree to rule Primera after the king passed away,” Rio said.

“Wait, wait, I don’t really understand what are you trying to say,” Skylar said.

“Rio, can you explain everything one by one, I get it why she couldn’t understand what you said,” Fascino asked.

“Sure, I’m sorry, Your Highness,” Rio replied. Then he looked at Skylar. He started to explain everything.

After some explanation, Skylar finally got it. Though she didn’t really believe it. How could she? Some big attack happened then suddenly she was told that she was the soon-to-be queen of a country, not a kingdom, she never heard before.

“Oh, so that’s why Vechter is the king, right?” Skylar said.

“How did you get that conclusion?” Glavo asked.

“Simple, Rio said that the Zoi Dentro tree will chose the next king, even though Vechter and Fascino are twin, a country couldn’t be ruled by two persons, and the tree had chosen Vechter, like that?” replied Skylar.

“I’m impressed, but it looks like I need to teach you some manners, you can’t call the king and the prince by their-“

“It’s alright, Rio, she’s going to be a part of us soon,” Vechter cut his advisor’s sentence off.

“I’m sorry, Your Majesty.”

Skylar blinked her eyes for a few times. “A part of you? Don’t tell me you’re going to propose me?” she asked, half-yelled.

Vechter laughed. Fascino showed an amused smile. “Of course not,” Vechter said between his laugh. He stood up and kneeled in front of Skylar.

Skylar raised one of her eyebrows.

“You’re going to be our sister,” Vechter said softly. “And you’re going to be someone who rule the country after I die, just like what the tree told me.”

“But, how could it chose someone like me? I mean, I’m not special, and you barely know me,” Skylar asked his soon-to-be brother.

“The tree knows the best for us,” Fascino replied as he stood up. He put a hand on Vechter’s shoulder.

“Please tell us that you’re willing to be a part of us,” Fascino said. He bowed a little.

The room went silent. Nobody let any word slipped out of their mouth. They froze in their seat, waiting for the answer. Skylar had to think about this in a while. She didn’t even know them. It’s too sudden. What if she has to leave her friends and family? What if she loses people by accepting the request? She wanted to deny it, but deep down in her heart, something told her to accept it. And seeing, the king and the prince in front of her with a look like they need her no matter what, she couldn’t make them wait any longer.

“If that’s mean I can protect people, I will.”

Vechter showed a big smile. He pulled Skylar into a hug. “Welcome, Skylar Primera Maiestas.”
