Try to keep your intro as simple as possible, or else your readers might get confused or distracted by too many elements.
2.Highlight the key points in the first sentence
Usually we believe the very first sentence sets the tone of the introduction. Therefore, we attach great importance to the former part of the intro. Would you get attracted by a cliche such as "Hi, this is my first novel..."?
3.Readableness
A subtle poem or an intricate paragraph might scare off the readers who naturally assume the main body is as complicated as the intro.
4.Avoid cliches
Again, readers might assume the main body contains nothing new either.
5.Proofread
You can change your intro at [more-work settings] before releasing it. You can refine it under the guide of the editor even after you release it. The intro should not be an obstacle during your creation.
