Episode 4 — The Truth Behind His Name
The next morning, Hoor Pari woke up with only one thought in her mind.
Her father.
Why had he sent her to Korea?
And why did Ji Han know something about it?
She quickly got ready and went downstairs.
Her father was sitting in the living room.
Hoor Pari stopped in front of him.
"Dad, I need to ask you something."
He looked up.
"What?"
"Why did you really send me here?"
Her father's expression changed.
"What are you talking about?"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about."
"I sent you here because Meera wanted you with her."
Hoor Pari shook her head.
"No. That's not the real reason."
Her father looked away.
Hoor Pari's voice became firm.
"You told me they needed me here. Who needs me?"
Silence.
"Dad?"
He finally looked at her.
"Some things are complicated."
"I didn't ask whether they were complicated. I asked you a question."
Before he could answer, another voice came from behind her.
"She deserves the truth."
Hoor Pari turned around.
Ji Han was standing near the doorway.
Her father immediately stood up.
"Ji Han."
Ji Han walked into the room.
Hoor Pari looked between them.
"You two know each other."
Her father didn't answer.
Hoor Pari's eyes narrowed.
"How long?"
Ji Han stopped beside the sofa.
"Long enough."
Her father looked angry.
"This isn't your matter."
Ji Han calmly replied,
"It became my matter the moment you brought her here."
Hoor Pari stared at him.
"What exactly are you talking about?"
Ji Han looked at her.
"Your father once had a business relationship with my family."
Hoor Pari's expression changed.
"What kind of relationship?"
"A dangerous one."
Her father immediately interrupted.
"That's enough."
Hoor Pari turned toward him.
"No. It's not enough."
She stepped closer.
"You sent me thousands of miles away without telling me why. Now I find out that you have some connection with his family."
Her voice became quieter.
"What did you do, Dad?"
Her father looked down.
Ji Han remained silent.
Then Hoor Pari noticed something.
Her father looked afraid.
Not angry.
Afraid.
That frightened her more than anything else.
---
Later that afternoon, Hoor Pari went outside into the garden.
She needed some fresh air.
She sat on a bench, lost in thought.
A few minutes later, Ji Han appeared.
He stood a short distance away.
"You shouldn't be here alone."
Hoor Pari looked up.
"I'm not in the mood for another warning."
"I didn't come to warn you."
"Then why?"
Ji Han sat on the opposite side of the bench.
For a moment, neither spoke.
Finally, he said,
"Your father made a deal with my family years ago."
Hoor Pari looked at him.
"What kind of deal?"
"One that was never completed."
"And now?"
Ji Han's expression became serious.
"Now someone wants him to complete it."
Hoor Pari frowned.
"Who?"
"We don't know."
"Then why bring me here?"
Ji Han didn't answer immediately.
Hoor Pari's eyes narrowed.
"You know something."
He looked at her.
"There is a reason they wanted you in Korea."
"What reason?"
Before he could answer, a phone rang.
Ji Han looked at the screen.
His expression changed instantly.
He stood up.
"What happened?" Hoor Pari asked.
"I have to go."
"Ji Han."
He stopped.
"Tell me."
He looked at her for a moment.
Then he said quietly,
"Someone knows you're here."
Hoor Pari's smile disappeared.
"Who?"
"We're going to find out."
He walked away.
Hoor Pari remained on the bench.
For the first time since arriving in Korea, she realized that her arrival hadn't been a family decision.
Someone had planned it.
And whoever that person was…
They had been waiting for her.
