I wrote a character—a character who no longer leaves me alone.
Sometimes she just stares at me. Other times, she whispers in my ear. I find her sitting beside me on my bed, hiding beneath it, standing in the corner of a restaurant, or silently following me wherever I go.
One day, I finally asked, "What do you really want?"
With a devilish smile, she replied, "I am you."
I shouted, "No! I created you. I gave you your personality—a criminal mind, a violent nature, selfishness, arrogance, and a complete lack of concern for anyone else. But I'm nothing like you. I'm kind to people. I care about them. I'm not a criminal who delights in bloodshed. It's impossible."
After hearing my words, she simply laughed.
Then, without another sound, she vanished into thin air.
