The black car sped across the bridge violently while rain crashed against the windows.
Inside the car, the former S class hero suddenly started laughing.
Not like a normal person.
Like someone who had already gone insane long ago.
“You ruined everything for me, Nyra.”
Golden restraints tightened around Nyra’s wrists while blood slowly slipped from the corner of her lips.
Her powers were gone.
Completely gone.
The hero smiled darkly.
“My powers weakened because of you.”
His eyes slowly turned colder.
“And now you’re powerless because of me.”
Then he laughed again.
“So let’s die together.”
Nyra’s eyes widened slightly.
“What”
Suddenly..
The hero turned the steering wheel violently.
The car crashed through the bridge railing.
And fell straight toward the river below.
Outside
Vael’s motorcycle stopped sharply near the broken bridge.
His eyes widened seeing the falling car.
“Boss!”
Then..
BOOM.
The vehicle exploded before fully sinking.
Fire reflected across the dark water.
Vael’s breathing stopped for a second.
Then suddenly
He saw her.
Nyra.
She had escaped moments before the explosion by pushing the hero away from her.
But now
She was falling helplessly into the freezing river.
Without thinking..
Vael jumped.
Straight off the bridge.
Cold water swallowed both of them instantly.
Underwater
Everything became silent.
Vael grabbed Nyra tightly while trying to swim upward.
But the river current was too strong.
And he was running out of oxygen.
Nyra looked at him quietly underwater.
For the first time in years
She looked strangely calm.
Then slowly
She pushed him away.
Her eyes said everything she couldn’t speak.
(Save yourself.)
(You’re not supposed to die because of me.)
(I’m just a criminal.)
(You still have a future.)
Vael immediately grabbed her wrist again desperately.
But Nyra pushed him away harder this time.
His vision blurred.
The last thing he saw...
Was Nyra slowly sinking deeper into darkness while staring at him silently.
Then...
Everything turned black.
•••
When Vael woke up again
Morning sunlight filled the city.
People celebrated in the streets.
News screens flashed everywhere.
“S class villain Nyra Vale confirmed dead.”
“The nightmare of Novacron has ended.”
“The city is finally safe.”
Everyone looked happy.
Everyone smiled.
Everyone celebrated her death.
Vael stared at the screen emotionlessly.
Then slowly looked away.
His eyes looked empty.
Completely empty.
•••
Seven years passed.
The world changed.
But not everyone moved on.
Dr. Kael Arden eventually got married because of family pressure.
His parents constantly reminded him
“You can’t live alone forever.”
“You need a family.”
“You need children.”
Eventually
He gave up arguing.
Now he had a wife.
And two sons.
People called him successful.
But sometimes at night..
He still stared silently at rainy windows.
Thinking about someone long gone.
Meanwhile..
Vael’s life changed completely.
After Nyra’s death, people discovered his true identity.
He was the lost grandson of one of the richest families in Novacron.
The only heir.
The only successor.
And now
Vael Arden Vale became the CEO of one of the largest companies in the country.
Women everywhere fell for him instantly.
Tall. Beautiful. Rich. Cold.
Perfect.
But Vael never looked at any of them.
Not once.
Because seven years later...
He still belonged to one dead woman.
One afternoon, his black luxury car stopped near a small roadside flower shop.
The driver sighed awkwardly.
“Sir… the tire got damaged.”
Vael didn’t even look up from his phone.
“Fix it.”
The driver quickly got out before nervously speaking again.
“Boss, maybe you should wait inside the flower shop? It’s cooler there.”
Then he smiled slightly.
“I heard the owner is very beautiful.”
Vael looked annoyed immediately.
“I don’t care.”
Then quietly
“I already have someone.”
The driver froze slightly.
(So the rumors were true…)
(There really was someone…)
After the driver left, Vael finally stepped out of the car lazily.
The small flower shop smelled peaceful.
Warm.
Nothing like the dark world he used to live in.
Then..
The shop door opened.
And Vael froze completely.
A woman stepped outside holding white lilies.
Black hair. Soft eyes. Familiar face.
Nyra.
The flowers slipped from Vael’s hands immediately.
His breathing stopped.
“…Boss?”
The woman looked confused.
Vael immediately rushed toward her.
“Boss!”
But before he could touch her
Another man suddenly stepped between them.
“Excuse me, sir.”
The man gently held the woman’s shoulder protectively.
“That’s my wife.”
Vael’s expression slowly darkened.
The woman looked nervous.
“Mister… I think you mistook me for someone else.”
Her voice sounded softer now.
Different.
“My name is Evelyn.”
Vael froze.
The woman smiled politely.
“And yes, we’re married.”
Her husband smiled calmly beside her.
“She lost her memories years ago because of an accident.”
Vael’s eyes slowly reddened slightly.
But he still forced a smile.
“…I’m sorry.”
Then quietly
“Can I buy flowers?”
Evelyn nodded gently.
“Of course.”
While she prepared the bouquet, Vael couldn’t stop staring at her.
Every movement. Every expression.
Even the way she wrapped flowers was familiar.
Too familiar.
(You’re alive.)
(I finally found you.)
Evelyn handed him two bouquets carefully.
“Here, sir.”
Their fingers touched slightly.
Vael’s chest tightened painfully.
At that moment the driver returned.
“Boss, the car is ready.”
Vael slowly entered the car.
But even after the window closed
He kept staring at Evelyn silently.
Watching her.
Like someone afraid she would disappear again.
(I found you.)
(So this time…)
(I’m never losing you again.)
•••
A few days later, Vael investigated everything personally.
And the results only confirmed his suspicions.
Seven years ago
A man rescued an unconscious woman near the riverside.
That woman had lost all memories of her past.
Later they started living together.
People assumed they got married.
But there were no official records.
No legal documents.
Nothing.
The moment Vael read that
His lips slowly curved upward for the first time in years.
“She’s not really married.”
From that day onward..
Vael started visiting the flower shop constantly.
Three days a week.
Sometimes more.
He bought flowers he didn’t need.
Sat outside pretending to work.
Watched Evelyn quietly for hours.
Like an obsessed man starving after years of loss.
Eventually
Her “husband” finally got irritated.
One afternoon he confronted Vael directly outside the shop.
“CEO Vael.”
His tone sounded cold now.
“Why do you keep staring at my wife?”
Vael looked at him lazily.
The man frowned harder.
“Don’t you think stalking another man’s wife is wrong?”
Silence.
Then Vael smiled softly.
Coldly.
“She’s not your wife.”
The atmosphere instantly changed.
The man’s expression darkened.
“What?”
Vael slowly stepped closer.
His eyes looked terrifyingly possessive.
“You found her first.”
“Congratulations.”
Then his smile disappeared completely.
“But she was mine long before you ever met her.”
