SIX
Eric's heart pounded ever so violently as he stood in the office room. Blonde girl had rushed into the other room to do God knows what!– he felt worried and nervous. Was it something he did?- he hoped not.
Blonde girl soon rushed into the room holding a tissue to her nose and clutching something in her hand behind her. He thought she was quite small and fragile-looking; not that he meant any insult. It was just his inner thought.
"Sit." She muttered in a nearly inaudible tone as she gestured to an empty seat before the only desk in the room.
He sat and when she did too, he muttered an unplanned "Oh" in surprise- she had literally disappeared into the seat. One could barely see her full upper body. She rubbed her redenned nose a few times and looked up at him. "Okay, Eric?" She called him and glanced at a few sheets of paper on her desk.
"Uhm ... are you the youth president?" He hummed the question, unsure if it was right to even ask in the first place. Eric watched her face scrunch into a small frown. "Of course I am. What makes you doubt that?" She interrogated him right back.
"I'm sorry," Eric replied abruptly, feeling slightly embarrassed. "It's okay." She muttered.
Her voice was so tiny he could barely hear a thing; had to strain his ears half the time to pick up a single syllable.
"You're welcome to our parish, Eric." The young man felt a sensation shoot through his body on hearing her utter his name.
He adjusted in his seat a little and leaned forward with his hands clasped before him.
She continued; "There's youth fellowship after church; that's where the youth come together to praise God in their own way. There's bible club, picnic outings, there are also sports clubs, arts and ... well, the church doesn't have the funds for a science lab but, anyway teens who can't make it to regular service can make it to youth fellowship and that's the idea since it's so much funner." Blonde girl explained..
Eric watched her lips half the time– they were so small he wondered how it could produce any sound at all. "Okay," He muttered once he realised that he'd been staring.
"Yeah, well uhm ..." she pushed a few of the blonde locks out of her face as it reddened– blonde girl had noticed. "That's about all for now so you can leave." She tapped the table with her fingers a little as she rose from the seat and extended her hand for a handshake. He shook her hand. "So small," Eric unconsciously muttered.
"Did you say something?" She was tempted to ask. He shook his head in the negative. "Bye." Blonde girl muttered as she cut short the handshake that had extended for a bit too long.
He rose to his full height, towering about a foot over her –not confidently though– Eric noticed his height intimidated her a little so he sat.
"Uhm ... is there a problem?" She asked.
"No, no. I was just ... leaving!" He stuttered.
"Okay," she hummed under her breath and saw him out.
