"No way, you got yourself a sugar mommy." Steph said, I groaned. "Why did Zack agreed to this... He knows how much I hate rich people." I said, I squeeze the teddy bear me and Steph had found in a trash can when we were young. For some reason it's still here.
"She probably have lots of makeup collection." Steph beamed, I rolled my eyes, he had been talking about that woman the whole day. Probably because she's rich, and she have that thick red lipstick that she wore the moment she asked me... No, more like ordered me to be her daughter. She's exactly like how I imagined rich people are, just like how they are portrayed in movies.
"Kids, get in here." Zack suddenly emerged somewhere, I glanced at him, to normal people, Zack would be the dangerous person they warn kids about, but for me... In my situation, he was my savior.
We got inside, and I dropped myself on the couch, scowling... Though Steph got out, and went to the room. Like they planned it.
"Stop pouting Snitch." He ruffles my hair while he use his other hand to take a long drag of his cigar. I moved my head away. "I said I don't want to." I mumbled. "I... I don't even know her Zack..."
Zack sighed, sitting down somewhere, I reluctantly looked over his side, and he looked serious,I felt annoyed, why is he using that adult side of him now?
"This wouldn't had happened if you guys didn't stole something from her in the first place—" I sat straight "—Bullshit! She could've adopted someone else... Someone from the orphan or adoption center... Why would she want the one who stole her bag to be her daughter?"
Zack's face turned stern, I dropped myself on the couch again, my shoulder slumping. I don't want this...
"I don't know. But there's really nothing we can do. Snitch... I know this is hard but, you have nothing to lose. That woman is rich... You're lucky."
I snapped my head to his direction. "You're so quick to send me off." I stood up, leaving. I blink hard, trying not to let any tears fall, I'm done crying...
He then grabbed the hood of my hoodie, pulling me. "Stay. Sit down—" "No—"
"I said, sit down!" I froze... My eyes widened as I stare at the ground, I couldn't look up. I use every strength I have to not let the tears fall.
"Look..." I felt the way he rubbed his face with his hand. "I just want you to have a normal life... I know her, I was once her classmate before I dropped out, she's not what you think, she made her way up there, she's not the usual jerks."
"I do have a normal life. This is my normal life... I don't belong there..."
His hand made it's way on both my shoulders, sitting me down, I was too numb to fight, he kneeled down in front of me, though I couldn't look at his face. "Snitch, there's people out there who would kill to have a chance like you do... Don't waste this."
"I don't need this Zack... I'm okay being with you guys. Or just send Steph..."
"Steph is a guy..." "But he acts more like a girl than me..." I replied quickly, finally looking at him.
"She wants a daughter."
"What if she's mean?" He sighed, his hand dropping from my shoulder. "We have talked together, and Sam already checked her. She's not like that, nothing at all."
There was a pause, like his studying me.
He licks his dry lips, nodding slightly. "Okay, how about this... The moment she does something, run away.'
Run away... That's something I was good at.
"What if I don't know where to go? Zack... I don't need to do this... I can still reject this right? I can live without having to be there..."
"No. I don't know what would happen to you, right now you're okay, I provide for you... But what if I'm gone? What if something happened? What would you do?... I'm worried about your future... But this... If you just listen and go, you'll have a bright future ahead of you."
I've always try to dismissed the future. I always tell myself I'll be okay, but he's right... What would happen to me.
"You have to think clearly, sometimes... It doesn't go the way you want it. But that's life... It's unfair. I know you don't want to leave us... We were your only family..."
Tears spills down my cheeks.
"So I have no choice...?" "Yes."
I have no choice but go leave my family.
...
I got inside the van, the coldness instantly wrapped around every inch of my skin, I made sure to not sit too close to 'her' Zack said her name is Eve. She have white hair... With that thick red lipstick. I was so aware of everything, maybe even too much. I would glance everytime she shifts, or adjusted herself.
Suddenly, she turned to look at me, and my whole body tensed. I was pretty sure my body were pressed against on the side of the car, while not looking at her.
"Am I that scary?" She asked. Her voice is so mature... Deep, and... Elegant.
I shook my head. She sighed.
"Look, I'm not gonna do anything, so... Please, losen up."
Yeah, can't do. I don't know a single shit about her, what do you expect?
Kevin... Kevin was killed by a teenager, who's so rich... He owns a gun, and got away by money. The worst part, his parents didn't do anything about it... I remember when they said... 'throw the body away... To the river, get it out of the road.' I couldn't speak that time, like... It was just too much, like... I wanted to do so much that I blacked out.
And I realized, they thought their child that way. Their all fucking assholes... And I swore... I will never be like them. I would struggle myself to live... But I won't be like them. I desire money, but I won't be like them.
I snapped my head to her direction when I catch her hand about to grab my shoulder. "Don't touch me!"
To be continued.
Trust 🤞🏻, this is actually GL.
