Hinata returns to her class and hands the strawberry juice to Kaito.
Kaito: "I'm going to drink this then."
Hinata: "Go ahead. I don't even like strawberry juice."
Kaito: "Yeah, I know."
The scene shifts to the evening. Hinata arrives at Kojo's cafe.
Hinata: "Good evening, Kojo."
Kojo: "Good evening."
They begin their work and continue until 7:30 PM. By then, all the customers have left.
Kojo: "I've noticed since school today, you look quite downcast."
Hinata: "Maybe it's just because today wasn't a good day for me."
Kojo: "Why? What happened?"
Hinata: "When I came to your class today, I was getting really scary vibes."
Kojo (laughing): "The students in my class were just surprised to see you."
Hinata: "Do I look scary?"
Kojo: "Not at all. Why would you think that? Is that why you thought they were staring at you?"
Hinata (laughing): "I was just pretending to be upset. By the way, your Class President is quite good-looking."
Kojo: "Let's head home."
Hinata: "No, I have to go somewhere else. You go ahead."
Kojo: "Alright, see you tomorrow."
Hinata leaves and, after walking a short distance, starts checking the location of her Class President on her phone—the one her teacher had sent. On the way, she bumps into Hanako. A plastic bag Hanako was carrying falls, and its contents spill out. Hinata helps him pick them up; inside were packets of noodles, lychee juice, and strawberry juice.
Hanako: "Where are you going at this hour?"
Hinata: "I'm going to the location shown on my phone."
Hanako: "But why? Whose location is it?"
Hinata: "It's my Class President's house. She hasn't been to class for two weeks. My teacher asked me to go check on her and see what's wrong."
Hanako: "Can I come with you?"
Hinata: "Sure. I actually wanted to talk to you about something anyway."
The two of them start walking toward the location on the phone.
Hanako: "You said you wanted to talk to me. What is it?"
Hinata: "You know, when I was little and had just started Elementary School, my dad used to drop me off every day. Just before reaching the school, there was a park. Some kittens lived there. My dad and I used to feed them every day. Then summer vacation started, so I didn't go to school for a month. When I finally went back with my dad, I went to see that kitten again... but it didn't recognize me. It felt terrible at the time. I told my dad about it, and he said, 'It's not that the kitten doesn't recognize you. It's just that the kitten is afraid that you'll make it get used to you, and then leave it behind again.' After that, I went to see that kitten every single day, whether it was a vacation, a holiday, or a school day. And my dad told me one more thing. Do you know what he said?"
Hanako: "Yes."
