PROLOGUE: THE PROMISE.

Location; A Villa in Italy
20 years ago, Luca Kim's grandfather, Gustav Kim, was laying on his death bed. Hijun Park, his dear friend, sat beside him while reading him a tale.
The room was filled with morning sun rays and the faint tag of books and medicine. The window was open and a gentle breeze caressed their skin. It was quiet and peaceful, the only thing that showed time was moving was Hijun Park's slow, deep and gentle voice as he read.
Then suddenly, with his eyes gazing up, Gustav spoke, his voice low and weary, "Hijun... I want our bond.... to be more than friendship." Confused, Hijun ceased reading, furrowed his eyebrows and said while closing the book, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, Gustav. But I don't like men."
Hijun frowned as he glanced aside, "It's quite something for you to open up to me after fifty years of our friendship. If you are into that kind of thing, there many more men who would---"
Hijun's words trailed off as the book in his hands suddenly landed heavily on his face, then down to the ground. Placing his palm on his face while in pain, he looked at Gustav and said,"You are quite lively for a d*ad man, Gustav."
To throw the book at Hijun, Gustav had to move his body slightly, and feeling unbearable pain, he groaned "Ugh.." and layed back in bed, wrinkling his sheets.
Hijun Park noticed.
He then removed his palm from his face and stood up to smoothen Gustav's blankets. After making sure that Gustav was comfortable, he sat back down.
Then Gustav while laying still, glanced at Hijun and said with his voice weary, "You know... I didn’t mean.... it that way." Gazing up, he continued, "I want.... our bond to exceed.... friendship."
Hijun narrowed his eyes, clearly still confused, but he said nothing and waited for his dear friend to finish his train of thought.
His gaze followed the ceiling as he said, "I want us to become.... A family."
Confused, Hijun picked up the book that fell onto the floor after Gustav threw it at him. Then he sat up straight and said while pointing the book at Gustav, "That b*stard son of yours will never be family. Over my d*ad body will he marry my Serena!"
Gustav's lips let out a sound,"Tsk!!" He glanced at Hijun, who was completely Infuriated. He then said, "Hijun, why would..... I let our precious Serena... be bound to the likes of.... Dante?"
His gaze followed the ceiling as he scowled and said, "My foolish son... is destined to.... d*e alone. The only good thing about Dante..... is that he is good with business.... and fathered, my precious grandson..... Luca."
Hijun Park placed his palm on his chest as he breathed a sigh of relief.
The he tilted his head to the side with furrowed brows as he inquired, "Then what do you mean by 'Become a family' Gustav?"
Gustav glanced at Hijun and said, "I... Want my grandson... Luca... And your granddaughter... Lisa... To wed.."
"OVER MY D*AD BODY!!" Hijun stood up angrily, clenching his fists hard that the book in his grip began wrinkling beyond measure.
Gustav turned his head to look at Hijun. That movement alone caused him great pain. But what made Hijun's anger cool off was the tears in Gustav's eyes and the bitter sweet smile on his face.
"Please, Hijun.." He begged.
Hijun still standing up, glanced away, unable to bear seeing his friend like this.
"Please, Hijun... This... Is my dying wish..." He begged.
Unable to contain his simmering rage, he threw the book in his grasp to the door.
"BAM!!" The book hit the door, making it open slightly. "Creak!!"
"Flop!!" The book fell to the ground.
Meanwhile, someone who was walking by the room heard the noise and stopped.
Meanwhile in the room, Hijun roared, "YOU ARE NOT DYING, GUSTAV!!"
Gustav let out weary chuckles and said, "Promise me... Hijun... That you'll honour my dying wish...."
Exasperated, Hijun began, "BUT I---"
Gustav interrupted him saying while he moved his head up to look at the ceiling, "I want.... Luca and Lisa... To be wed on the... 20th of June, 20 years from now..."
Exasperated, Hijun began, "But Lisa is still 5 years old and Luca is still 8 years old, they shouldn't---"
Gustav interrupted him saying while he glanced up at the ceiling, "Draw up their marriage certificates... That'll be renewed on that date..." He glanced at Hijun with a bitter sweet smile, "Please.... You can do this... Please..." He begged.
Hijun sat on his chair, elbows on his thighs and his palms on his face.
"Promise me... Hijun..." Gustav begged.
Looking at Gustav he said exasperated, "Ugh! FINE, FINE, GUSTAV!!! STOP BEGGING ME ALREADY!!!"
Gustav smiled pleased while Hijun stared at him in anger.
Meanwhile the person outside their room who was overhearing opened their door and said happily, "Good! I'll help you draft the certificates, Mr. Hijun."
Both men glanced at the door and frowned at seeing who the person was.
Hijun stood up, grabbing his chair, he hurled it the person at the door and yelled, "WHO WANTS YOUR HELP, DANTE?!!!"
Dante, the man who overheared their conversation, stepped to the side in the nick of time, missing the chair and smiled saying, "Woah there! We are technically family now.. No need to use violence."
Looking at his father he continued with a smile on his face, "Right old man---"
Suddenly a pillow hit him hard on the face making him lose his balance for a moment.
Hijun smiled and looked at Gustav, giving him a thumbs up.
In pain, Gustav smiled and gave him a thumbs up in return.

EPISODE 1 (Episode Overview): Arrived In Seoul.
At 7pm, a private jet known as the Bo*bardier Global 8000, landed in the Incheon International Airport. It was flying from Italy to South Korea, Seoul.
As soon as a man got out of the jet, he saw a dozen R*lls-Royce Boat Tail riding towards him. Most were white, apart from one black.
Then a black r*lls-Royce parked right beside him. Then the man who was driving got out of the car and greeted him.
Bows slightly, "Greetings Mr. Kim..." Stands up straight, "I hope you had a great journey."
.......Time Skip......
Driving towards Gangnam, "Umm.. Apart from expanding Kim Industries here..."
Glances at Mr. Luca Kim, "Did you.. Come for something or someone else?"
"Do you know my Fiancée?" Mr. Luca Kim asked. "Umm.. Yes, Miss Lisa Park. CEO of the Fashion Department under Park Group." His driver and personal assistant, Matteo Rosso, answered.
Mr.Luca Kim remained silent and simply sighed.
Mr. Matteo Rosso glanced at Mr. Luca then back to the road and tuned to say, "Umm.. You've been engaged since childhood but you have never met each other.. Um"
Mr. Luca Kim closed his eyes and said, "We are to be wed a month from tomorrow."
