As the city's sounds swirled around us, I took a deep breath, my heart still reeling from his story. I knew I had to tell him - the truth about me, about us.
"I know what you're thinking," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "But I'm not just a listener, I'm a part of this story too."
His eyes narrowed, a mix of confusion and curiosity. "What do you mean?"
I smiled, a sense of liberation washing over me. "I'm the one who wrote the letter, the one who brought you here tonight."
His expression shifted from surprise to shock, and finally, to a slow-burning smile. "You?" he whispered, his voice full of wonder.
I nodded, my heart racing. "I saw you in the bookstore, lost in your world. I wanted to know more."
The air between us thickened, charged with a connection that went beyond words. He leaned in, his lips brushing against my ear.
"My story's not over yet," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down my spine. "And neither is yours."
The world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, suspended in a moment of raw, unspoken tension...
To be continued...
