They say he has no heart.
Dante — the name alone sends shivers through the city's underworld. He's the devil in a suit, the nightmare behind every locked door. They say he tortures without blinking, kills without guilt, and owns every corrupt soul with a smirk.
But they don't see him like I do.
They don't see the way he pulls me into his chest at night, like he's afraid I'll vanish. Or how he memorized my favourite songs, just to play them softly in the car. They don't know that he keeps a picture of me in his wallet— worn, folded, hidden behind black cards and bullets.
I wasn't supposed to be part of his world. I'm quiet, ordinary. I work in a bookstore and introvert. But the moment our paths crossed, something shifted. He say I'm the only thing that makes him feel human.
And when someone tried to hurt me..... Just once... The city bled.
"They should've known better," he said, knuckles still bloodied. "The world can burn . I don't care. As long as you're safe."
He doesn't promise forever. He promises protection.Fury. Fire.
But in his arms, I've felt safer. And in his kiss, I find something no one else sees:
A villian the world fears, but a man who's only Soft for me.
The End.
