This is basically just a rant, sorry.
My ex boyfriend hurt me for the entire time we dated. We were in 8th grade. I'm selectively mute, so I couldn't say no to him. I tried, and I tried getting away. I cried. Nothing. He did nothing and kept hurting me (ifykyk how, bad way, not something 13-14 yr olds should we doing).
Anyway, we broke up last july (July 2024). I had told my sister and a few friends about what my ex was doing to me, but nobody did anything while it was going on. In the summer after we broke up, I went to the park with my sister and friend. I told my friend what my ex did. My friend had already hated my ex but this just made him hate my ex even more. He made me tell someone, so in september of 2024 I told the school counselor. They obviously contacted my parents, but didnt say any specifics. I told my parents the specifics on what happened a few days later. They were like "oh my god he r**** you we have to go to the police." So they did.
The "funny" thing is, is that the police didn't do a damn thing. The reason? Because me and him were both minors (I was 13-14 and he was 13 at the time). He got in no trouble whatsoever. Absolutely none. They diagnosed me with severe PTSD tho. I had texts from him specifically telling me to not tell anyone what was going on, but the police didn't believe me. They thought we were just 2 kids fooling around and did things we shouldn't have been doing and cried r**** when we were caught.
Bullshit.
I'm basically asking for your opinion now on this, cause I am so fucking lost and I don't know what to do or think...
I feel betrayed by first my ex, and then the law. They should have protected me, but they said since we're minors there was no crime. No trauma for me. Nothing.
He made sure I was always at his house, where my parents thought his parents were supervising us. They weren't. He didn't like coming to my house because we'd be supervised.
He'd tell me things like "if you can't come over today, then next time you have to do everything i want. No saying no". I still have those texts as well, but the police couldn't give a single fuck.
Everyone's always saying crap like "police are there to help you, tell them or a trusted adult when ____"
I did do that and it ruined my life more.
