(In a Garden inside the Palace)
"Your Highness today we have chrysanthemum tea." Vyara answered the empress as she served the tea.
The empress smiled at her and forwarded another cup towards the emperor.
"Hah! Vyara your tea is the best I've ever had" The emperor understood the empress's intention and praised her genuinely.
"This humble one is pleased to be at your service Your Majesty" I replied politely.
"Vya how many times have we told you to talk comfortably with us" added the empress as she heard my reply.
"How can we as subjects speak like that to Our Highnesses" a voice came and interrupted us suddenly.
"Ros you are back from your trip" the emperor smiled at the arrival of the man.
"You little kiddo" the empress scolded him teasingly while pinching his ear.
"Ah!! Sister, leave my ear. Ouch!! " He said as he tried to free his ear.
"One day you will separate my ears from my body".
He picked up a cup and drank the tea.
"Raya your hands really have magic." he smiled and said to her.
"Many thanks for the praise Duke Kairos." I replied courtly.
"Still the same, I see" he tutted.
"Why are you always buzzing around my lady in waiting, hmm Ros?" the empress asked to tease him.
"Now what can I do when your dear lady in waiting ignores me brutally" he said while sighing and shaking his head.
A small smile crept up my lips and vanished the next moment, but it was still caught by Kairos.
Our eyes met, and he winked at me.
My eyes widened as I quickly broke our eye contact and discreetly looked towards the emperor and empress but saw that they were busy in their own world.
I glared at him then looked away.

(At night inside Vyara's bedroom)
After taking a shower I was reading a book under the night lamp when I sensed movement in my room's balcony.
I walked quietly and snapped open the door only to see.......
"Oh my Raya, do you want to murder your husband." he said as he dodged the door and climbed inside my room.
"What is the Duke doing here so late at night?" I narrowed my eyes and looked at him.
"Don't be so harsh Raya" he said as he stepped towards me and I took a step back.
He bent down and swiftly planted a kiss on my cheek.
*Eyes widened*
"KAI" I screamed at him.
"Ah finally calling my name now" he smirked at me.
"Get out" I pointed towards the door.
He held my hand and pulled me and I crashed into him our chest pressing against each other.
He gazed at me deeply while my breathing quickened.
I avert my eyes from him.
His eyes gleamed as he kissed my jaw then jumped back to the balcony's railing.
"I'll be going to settle some matters tomorrow. Wait for me to come back." he said and jumped down from there.
"Ah!!" I ran to the balcony and saw him standing below and blowing a kiss towards me.
I rushed back into my room, locking the door.
"This rascal" I muttered then went to sleep.

(In Empress Dowager's Chambers)
"That Kairos is having too much power in his hands and my stupid son just keeps letting him do as he please." the Empress Dowager threw a cup at a maid frustratingly.
"Please calm your anger Your Highness" the maid pleaded as she knelt down on the floor.
"It's good that he isn't here at the moment. This time I'll definitely take his authority."
"But... But Your Highness, how can we attack the duke?"
"Who said we are going to attack him. We will trap that wretch of a lady in waiting of that woman. Don't they all cherish her dearly? It's time to teach them a lesson."
"I've heard that she has the blood of the dragon in her veins."
"Now you go and..... *whispers*..."
"As you say Your Highness" the maid bowed and went away.

It's been one month since Kairos had gone on his mission.
Today is the Royal Banquet that is held every once a year.
I was helping Her Majesty in getting ready for the banquet.
"Vya why don't you also wear something nice" The empress held my hand as I was choosing a necklace for her.
"I'm already wearing my dress Your Highness" I replied as I resumed my work.
"Well you are right. You look gorgeous in whatever you wear." she replied.
"You are overpraising me Your Highness." I replied as I did the final touch up.
"It's done Your Highness." I stepped back.
She looked at herself in the mirror "Ros says correct, your hands really have magic Vya".
I just smiled at her.
We went outside and started walking towards the main hall.
"Hiss" I sucked in a cold breath as an eye opened on my forehead and my head throbbed.
I saw a vision in which Her Majesty picked up her staff and gave a speech but fainted midway. The staff was laced with poison that enters the body with a mere touch.
I walked to her quickly and said in a low voice "Your Highness, you can't touch the staff it's poisoned."
Her eyes widened "But without the staff we can't continue the banquet".
We reached the hall as we were whispering.
Her Majesty stepped forward and just as she was about to pick up the Royal staff I pushed her.
