Surprisingly, Adura could still see very somewhere, why are you bringing me to the basement. ” Adura asked, at this point, nothing made sense to her anymore.
“ just follow me ” aunt Sirena said.
When they finally came down from the stairs, Adura saw a kind of circle on the ground. The circle was decorated with different patterns and shapes, she noticed that there was a kind of writing on the circle, it was a language she had never seen before but she was able to read it.
The writing translated 'teleportation circle'.
“ stand in the circle ” aunt Sirena said
“ ....” Adura was puzzled
When aunt Sirena noticed that she was not moving, she pushed Adura into the circle and handed her the previously packed suit case.
“ remember what I told you, everything you see there is real.” aunt Sirena said.
Before Adura could react or say anything, she heard her aunt mumble something in another language and suddenly a red light glowed from the circle under her feet and she was instantly transported to another place.
When Adura opened her eyes, she found herself in a very big empty hall.
“ where the hell am I ” Adura asked as she looked around.
“ Adura ...” a soft voice called out her name lovingly. Adura swiftly turned to the direction of the voice.
“ who are...” her sentence was cut off Midway. The person who called out her name was standing right in front of her.
It was a woman who looked to be in her early thirties, the woman was extraordinarily beautiful, she had reven black hair and purple eyes.
“ Adura, is that really you ” the woman said, her voice was filled with so much emotion. Hearing that voice, Adura felt her heart skip a beat. She had never seen this woman before but she felt a very strong connection to her.
“ y..yes, I'm Adura. Please, who are you.” Adura asked, but deep down inside of her she felt that she already knew the answer.
“ I'm your mother.. ” the woman said as a tear slipped down her cheek.
“ my m.. mother ” she said with difficulty.
“ no. You can't be my mother, aunt Sirena said that my mother and father are dead ” Adura said with disbelief while shaking her head fervently.
“ were not dead Adura, both of your parents are alive. I'm your mother, believe me.” the woman said, the woman could not control herself, tears streamed down her cheek like a river.
Adura refused to accept, she kept shaking her head and saying her parents were dead, but then....
“ Adura...” she heard another voice say.
The voice belonged to a man, she saw a devilishly handsome man walk out of the shadows.
“ Tina is saying the truth, she is your mother and I am your father ” the man said.
Adura was rooted in that spot. Suddenly finding out that both her parents whom she thought were dead, are actually alive was something she could not handle.
“If you're really my parents, why were you not with me. Why did you leave me with aunt Sirena ” Adura said after some minutes of silence.
“ I'll explain everything to you, but first you have to follow me ” Tina said.
Adura reluctantly followed them, they took her to a room so that she could sit down and relax.
“ now, please tell me the entire truth ” Adura said when she sat down on the sofa.
“ when you were a baby.. ” Tina started
“ we left you with Sirena in the human world because we didn't want you to get hurt”
Tina added.
“what do you mean by that” Adura asked.
“ actually... We are monsters ” Tina said.
That sentence was like I bomb, Adura's mouth was left agape. She could not believe what she was hearing.
“ m.. monsters. I don't understand ” Adura stuttered.
“ I am a serpentine and your father is a vampire ” Tina said
“ what.... ” Adura eyes were wide open, it seemed as if her eyes would fly out of their sockets.
“ wait.. wait..wait.. if you are monsters, and you are also my parents, does that mean I am a monster too ” Adura asked with an emotion that sounded like fear but was not really fear.
“ yes, you are a monster ” Tina said
“ what, kind of monster am I ”
“ that, we do not know. ” Tina answered
“ what do you mean by you don't know ”
“......” Tina did not know how to explain it to Adura.
“ let me explain it to you ” Adura's father said
“ if two monsters of the same species have child, the child will be of the same species as their parents, but if the parents are of different species, the child will neither be like the mother nor the father, instead the child will be of a totally different species ” Adura's father said.
“ so how can I find out what kind of monster I am ” Adura asked but she got no response from her father, he just stood up and went to a wardrobe at a corner of the room. He opened the wardrobe and brought out a big glass orb. He brought it and kept it on the centre table.
“ stretch out your palm above the orb” Adura's father said with a blank expression.
Adura stretched her hand out just as she was told.
Adura's father held her hand, Adura could feel her heart race. Even though he was her father, he was still a very handsome man, she could not help but admire his looks.
She was suddenly jerked back to reality when she felt a sharp pain in her palm.
She yelped and tried to withdraw her hand but her father's grip was too tight, she could not escape it. He used his sharp nails to cut her palm.
her blood dripped from the cut on her palm to the glass orb which absorbed it.
After a few seconds, nothing changed in the glass orb.
“ nothing is happening..” Adura said, she did not notice that her voice sounded disappointed, it was as if she wanted something to happen.
“ does this mean that I am not a monster like you guys ” she added.
