When Adura pushed the girl out of the way, she ended up falling on the ground and bruising her knee which started bleeding. She was in too much pain to stand up, she watched as the tiger walked towards her. She closed her eyes as she waited for the pain of being eaten to come.
—so is this how I'm going to die — she thought.
But instead of feeling the pain, she felt the tiger licking her injured knee. She immediately opened her eyes, she was too stunned to react.
She saw as the other tiger approached her, the second tiger walked up to her and started licking her face.
“ stop that, it tickles ” she said as she laughed and tried to push the tigers away. The tigers obediently stopped licking her and moved back, they sat on the ground and looked at her. Adura was amazed.
“ you can understand me ”she hesitantly asked the tigers with wide eyes, to which they nodded their heads.
“ how's that possible, I don't understand“ she complained with a confused expression on her face.
Thankfully, the girl Adura saved ran away immediately the tigers turned their attention away from her, or else Adura would not be able to explain the fact that she could talk to tigers.
Adura stood up from the ground, it was at that time that she noticed that her injured knee had completely healed.
” w.. what is happening to me “ she said with wide eyes.
By the time the securities arrived at the scene, Adura had already put the two tigers back in their cage. but strangely to them, the tigers did not try to escape even though the lock of their cage was broken.
They all asked Adura to explain exactly what happened, but she just told them that the tigers went back into their cage on their own.
She did not tell anybody that she was the one who told the tigers to go back into their cage.
Because of the incident, she missed lunch period, she missed the chance to have lunch with her crush. She was sad, she was also worried that he would think she stood him up.
Through out the remainder of the day, Adura thought of ways she could apologize to Veer. She finally made up her mind to go and look for him in his own department.
His was part of the botany department which was right beside her department. During her between-class- break, she went to look for him. She located his class but when she got closer to the class she heard something that shocked her to the core.
” so you mean that chick stood you up“ an unfamiliar voice said.
” yeah. but who the hell does she think she is to stand me up “ a familiar voice said angrily
— that's Veer's voice — Adura thought as she sneaked closer to the classroom.
” I guess there's a first time for everything. “ the unfamiliar voice said in a teasing manner.
” if not for the fact that she's hot, do you think I'd even talk to her “ Adura heard Veer say. It was like a blow to her heart.
— is that what he really thought about me — Adura could feel her eyes sting as tears threatened to fall.
” the only reason I'm interested in her is because of her body “ veer said again.
Adura could not take it anymore, she left the botany department. Tears were already streaming down her face, she did not expect that she had been crushing on such a monster. She ran to the washroom in her department and cried her eyes out.
She did not come out of the washroom until school was over.
She went to her class and picked her bag and left the school, she walked aimlessly till she reached her house.
” Adura, what happened “ aunt Sirena asked with worry and concern etched on her face. Adura's eyes were swollen from crying. As soon as she saw her aunt she burst into tears again. Her aunt didn't ask any more questions, she just tried to console her.
Adura cried for a few minutes before she was able to control herself again.
” aunt, I..I don't want to go to that school anymore“ Adura said with small sobs in-between her words.
” yes my dear, you won't go to that school again “ aunt Sirena said. She hugged Adura and Adura soon fell asleep. She was exhausted from all the crying.
” Adura, I think it's time to meet your parents“ aunt Sirena whispered.
Adura woke up by 9 pm, she was on the couch in the living room, she stood up and called for her aunt. Adura went to her room and saw her aunt packing her clothes in a travelling box.
” aunt, why are you packing my clothes. Am I going somewhere. “ Adura asked.
” yes you are. Go and freshen up quickly “ aunt Sirena said.
” o..ok “ Adura said confusedly.
Adura was done freshening up in 10 minutes, she still did not know where she was going, she asked her aunt but her aunt did not say anything.
”aunt, please tell me where you're taking me “
Adura asked.
” I can't tell you that, all I can say is, whatever you see when you get there is real “ aunt Sirena said seriously.
” what do you mean by that aunt “ Adura asked, her brain was on the brink of shutting down because she had a tried to understand what her aunt meant.
Aunt Sirena took Adura to the basement which was always kept locked for reasons Adura never knew, but she never questioned her aunt.
The basement was pitch black, it was as if the light from the other room was afraid of passing through the door into the basement.
