A child I was, in golden days,
Where laughter danced in endless plays.
No worries, no fears, just dreams so light,
Bathed in warmth of morning’s sight.
But then my heart began to yearn,
For time to shift, for age to turn.
Oh, let me grow! Let me be tall!
Let me run where the wild winds call!
As a teen, I spread my wings,
Chasing thrills and daring things.
Adventure called, the world was wide,
I sought the stars, I tamed the tide.
Yet soon enough, the days ran fast,
Adulthood whispered of the past.
I longed again for youthful glee,
For innocence, for being free.
Then love knocked, so soft, so true,
A bond to hold, a path anew.
A home, a hand, a promise made,
Through joys and trials, unafraid.
The years then passed, both swift and slow,
Wrinkles told of what I’d known.
I watched the sun sink in the west,
And wished for time to grant me rest.
Then came the day, the silent sigh,
The moment when I closed my eyes.
But life moves on, as it must be,
A cycle spinning endlessly.
Some bloom early, some are late,
Yet all must walk the hands of fate.
For life, a circle, wide and vast,
Links the future to the past.
