Genre: Zombie Apocalypse / Survival Horror

The first outbreak started in the city. By the time the government acknowledged it, the infection had already spread to small towns like ours. One bite, one scratch—that was all it took.
I ran with a group, but we kept losing people. Now, it was just me and Josh, my best friend since childhood. We had barricaded ourselves in an old gas station, surviving on stolen supplies and fear.
One night, as we sat in silence, I asked the question that had been eating at me since the world fell apart.
"Josh… tell me why you never got bitten?"
He looked at me, his face pale under the flickering lights. "What?"
"I've seen you fight them off—close calls, scratches—but never a bite. Never infected. How?"
He didn’t answer. Instead, he rolled up his sleeve.
His skin was riddled with scars—bite marks.
I stumbled back. "No… that's not possible."
Josh finally met my eyes. "It is."

Ending:
Josh sighed. "I was bitten. The fever came, but… it passed. I didn’t turn."
My mind raced. Immunity? That meant hope. That meant a cure. But before I could say another word, the sound of pounding fists came from outside.
The undead had found us.
I turned to Josh. "We need to run."
But he didn’t move. Instead, he pulled out his knife and handed it to me.
"If they take me, don’t let me turn."
I swallowed hard, gripping the handle. The door began to splinter.
And then, the fight for survival truly began.
