Suddenly, I remembered something. I remembered late at night, I heard rustling, so I got out of bed to see what it was about and saw my dad. Roughly pushing mom unto the mattress, she told him to stop. She pushed him away but he didn't stop.
It's almost the same thing he did to me. How he touched me. How it hurt. How I wanted it to end.
I wondered if I had retaliated if he would've stopped. What would of happened if I had struggled. I was his daughter but I was also scared. I wondered if she was also scared. She probably was, wasn't she?
Suddenly I felt someone touch my shoulder and panicked hitting the hand away.
I looked up to see Mr. Pyer, with a hurt expression on his face. I couldn't look at him in the eye as the memories flood back in. I clenched my arm, digging my nails into the clenched hand.
I felt disgusting, dirty, unclean. I didn't like feeling like this. Suddenly I heard someone shout " Alex"
I looked up, pain in my eyes and tears flowed down.
" I promise I didn't mean for that to happen, I'm sorry" I said softly, removing my hands from my now scratched skin.
" It's fine, Arinna. What happened?" Dr. Amsley asked.
" My mom, she was .... raped, wasn't she? and I was too? " I muttered under my breath.
I looked at you. You didn't seem surprised.
" You knew?"
Alex didn't say anything.
" You knew and you didn't tell me?" I said angrily.
" Arinna, who are you talking to?" Dr. Amsley asked worried.
" Why didn't you tell me? We could have helped her. We could've saved her and we could've saved ourselves" I said angrily.
I felt gentle arms wrap around me loosely as I said," We could have saved her. Why didn't you try to save her?"
" Arinna, please talk to me" Dr. Amsley said softly.
My eyes drifted to hers as I said, " Alex knew Mom...... I was ... raped...... and he didn't tell me"
" When did that happen to her? Your mom?" Mr. Pyer asked with a hand covering his mouth.
" Right before, she..... stopped talking"
Tears slid down my face as I pushed away from Dr. Amsley and got up slowly.
" I'm sorry" I said before losing control. Full Control was now given to Adrian.
Adrian shifted nervously before saying, "Arinna didn't feel like talking anymore."
" Adrian, is that you? Can we talk to Alex?" Mr. Pyer asked anxiously.
Adrian nodded letting himself lose control and letting Alex gain it.
Alex looked at Mr. Pyer, his face drained; something Adrinna hadn't seen on his face as she agrued.
" I didn't mean to keep it from her..... I..... I was just trying to protect her" he muted softly but Mr. Pyer was able to hear it.
" What are you trying to protecting her from?" Mr. Pyer asked sincerely looked at Alex who was hunched over, his hands resting on his head.
He checked to see if Adrinna was still awake before saying " Herself"
