The day of the final exam arrived, and Alexa was feeling confident. She had studied hard, and she was ready to take on Richard.
As she walked into the exam room, she spotted Richard sitting in the back, his eyes fixed on her. Alexa felt a surge of adrenaline and smiled sweetly at him.
The exam began, and Alexa focused on the questions, her mind racing with answers. When it was over, she felt a sense of relief and accomplishment.
As they walked out of the exam room, Richard turned to her. "You think you won, don't you?" he said, his eyes glinting with amusement.
Alexa smiled. "I know I did."
Richard chuckled. "We'll see about that."
The wait for the results was agonizing, but finally, the day arrived. Alexa and Richard stood outside the school office, waiting for the principal to post the results.
As the principal pinned up the list, Alexa's eyes scanned the page, her heart racing with excitement. And then she saw it: her name at the top of the list.
She had won!
Alexa turned to Richard, a triumphant smile on her face. "Looks like I won," she said, trying to sound casual.
Richard's face fell, but then he grinned. "Congratulations," he said. "You won fair and square."
Alexa's eyes narrowed. "Don't think this means you're off the hook," she said. "You still owe me."
Richard's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Oh, I haven't forgotten," he said. "I'll make sure to pay up."
Alexa's heart skipped a beat as she wondered what Richard had in mind.
