"I'm listening," Alexa said, her curiosity piqued.
Richard pushed off the wall and took a step closer to Alexa. "Let's make a bet," he said, his eyes glinting with excitement. "If I win, you have to go out with me."
Alexa's eyes widened in surprise. "What? No way."
Richard shrugged. "It's just a bet. But if you win, I'll...I'll do something for you."
Alexa raised an eyebrow. "What could you possibly do for me that would be worth risking a date with you?"
Richard smiled. "Oh, I think I can come up with something. Maybe...I'll tutor you in math."
Alexa snorted. "I don't need your help in math."
Richard chuckled. "We'll see about that. So, what do you say? Are you in?"
Alexa hesitated, her mind racing with the possibilities. She didn't want to go out with Richard, but at the same time, she didn't want to back down from a challenge.
"Fine," she said finally. "I'm in."
Richard grinned, his eyes sparkling with triumph. "Great. Let's shake on it."
As Alexa shook Richard's hand, she felt a jolt of electricity run through her body. What had she just gotten herself into?
