Visions - the dark entity
After a very tiring day, June got back home and placed her keys on the wooden desk placed near her front door. 'Some old habits never die', she thought to herself as she took a few more steps. June glanced at the clock; it was almost time for her favourite TV show. She plopped down to her couch, quickly put on the show, and began watching with her eyes half closed. 'The sleepless nights are catching upto me', she mumbled as she grabbed the half empty glass of coffee from morning. She sipped on her coffee as she thought it'd wake her up a bit.
But that's the moment she noticed-- a silhouette... of a girl. A shadow... or maybe something more. Something or someone. It was sitting on the other side of the couch, with brown stains on her attire. But the face wasnt clear. Ever since June was a child, she never believed that ghosts existed-- until of course, that day.
She got a bit startled and spat out her coffee. While she struggled to clean up the mess she made, she took a peek at the couch where she saw the girl a moment ago. As expected, it, or she wasn't there anymore. 'Maybe I'm having hallucinations', June said to herself while trying to calm down. After that, nothing weird happened and so, she was convinced that the incident was just her overworked mind hallucinating.
The next day, she went to work as usual. But right as she passed by the conference room, she noticed a figure. The same girl she saw at her apartment. She dropped her papers out of shock and fear. The girl was lying down. Her hair was wet and her body was twitching and turning, as if it was resisting something. June took a closer look and that's when she realised that the only person who was in the room, other than that figure was her client. The man called out to her, signalling her to come in. 'Alex? Our client? I should warn him--' her thoughts got cut off by her manager who called her at the right time. She bent down and collected her papers one by one, as she felt the cold stares from across the room. She ignored it and followed her manager silently.
Even after she got off work, she couldn't help but think about that girl. She was driving home in her shabby car, listening to her favorite tunes. Suddenly, the frequency changed and it switched to the news. 'A woman was found to be dead in a bathtub of an apartment. Reports show that she was brutally r*ped.' The news was too much for June to listen to. She tried to change the frequency and that's when she heard--
'Alex, 39 male, is the main suspect of attempted se*xual hara*sment in this case, along with another individual, who is suspected to be an employee at xxx company, that has not been caught yet. The police are still'-- She turned off the radio and stopped her car, all while trembling.
'No.. it can't be', June mumbled softly. But that's when she saw that while she parked her car by the side, another car behind her had been speeding and it crashed onto the car that was infront of her. She heard loud screams from the people inside both the cars. This horrible sight was too much for her. She couldn't take it anymore. She started driving with great speed as fear and confusion took over her mind. She soon reached her apartment.
She opened her door, still a bit shaken from what just happened. As she was going to place her keys on the usual spot, she suddenly heard the jingle of a set of keys. She followed the source of sound, tip toeing throughout her small apartment. She reached her balcony. The sounds became louder. She started hearing the screeching of car tires, and loud cries. Almost exactly like what she heard just a few minutes ago. She looked down from the balcony, gripping on the metal railing tightly with her shaky hands. June gasped at the sight that she saw. It was the same girl that she was having hallucinations about. The same girl she saw on her couch and office. But this time, the mysterious entity had a missing arm. Her left arm was gushing out blood and leaking everywhere on the pearly white balcony floor. Even though June was very frightened by this, she still felt a little empathetic and approached the body. She knelt down and tried to turn the entities face towards her own and that's when she got a notification. It was from her mother.
'Hey darling, I hope you're okay. I heard that there was a car crash near the road you usually pass by. A young woman died on impact. Where are you right now? Text me immediately.', the message read. She quickly checked the news on her phone as she knew that her mother was talking about the car crash that she witnessed with her very own eyes. Her eyes scanned the news headlines. A news blog named 'Car crash incidents on xx road' caught her eye.
'Woman of 23 years old has been found to be dead on impact on road xx. Her left arm was cut off clean by a sharp object inside the car.' She read as she connected the dots in her mind. She quickly looked down to see that the girl has disappeared, yet again. She rushed to her living room and went near the couch she first saw the entity. She spotted the cup of coffee from yesterday morning and looked inside. She poured out the coffee on the ground, hoping to find an answer. There was a sharp little piece of glass at the bottom. Drinking it would have been a deadly mistake. Then, she finally understood exactly what has been happening to her.
The girl-- She wasn't just a hallucination. She was a vision. She was the sneak peek to June's own future. The entity stopped her from drinking that cup of coffee, it blocked her from entering the conference room and it also made her stop her car. The mysterious entity, has been the deadly outcomes of June's own actions.
The visions wasn't meant to be feared-- as it was meant to protect her.
