Yesterday, I found an old dusty diary in the attic near my old school books. I had no idea who it belonged to but-something about it felt strange .. usually I’m not the type of person who is curious about things but looking at this diary makes me want to open it. After hesitating for a long time, the unusual curiosity got the better of me. I dusted it off and flipped through the pages. The first few pages were stuck together ,so I skipped them. I know I should have read them as usually the first pages are about the person the diary belongs to but it was stuck together in such a way that if I forcefully separate them then they will tear.
At first it seemed like any ordinary journal filled with personal thoughts and events. But as I read further, I noticed the similarities between my life and the diary owner’s life. I felt my stomach twist. With sweaty and trembling hands I turned to the next page and what i saw shocked me to the core.
Every major event of my life was written down in perfect detail, from my birth to the present. My first day of high school ,my crush, the fights i had with my parents , even the topic of the argument i had with my best friend yesterday-it was all there. my pulse quickened.
”WHO WROTE THIS ??”
A stalker ? Someone who had been watching me my whole life ? The idea send chills down my spine. But then ,the writing seemed too personal for it to be written from a third person’s point of view and too personal for it to be just a coincidence for the diary’s owner life to match mine.
Maybe it‘s just a really once in a hundred thousand’s lifetime coincidence. I need to know more.
“The next pages are blank ?! NO?! It cant be like that! I need answers!!“
Now I must view the first page of the diary. I need to know who does this diary belongs to.
I slowly and carefully with trembling hands started to separate the first page.
“*THIS DIARY BELONGS TO SKY RIVERA*”
i gasped. “T-this d-diary—“
I couldn’t believe it. I rush towards my room Leaving the diary on the attic.Suddenly the lights went off and —
*BOOM!*
“*Sky* ! SKY! wake up! Don’t you have to go to school?”
“SKY RIVERA ! YOU BETTER WAKE UP ELSE I WILL THROW THIS FREEZING COLD WATER ON YOU!!”
My eyes snapped open. Sunlight poured into my room. My mother stood by my bed, looking annoyed. My heart pounded against my ribs. What just happened?
I had been on my way to the room. I had been reading the diary. How did I end up here?
Ignoring my mother’s confused look, I scrambled out of bed and rushed upstairs. My hands fumbled to grab the diary where I had left it. But when I opened it…
It was empty. Every single page—blank. Except for one.
On the first page, in neat handwriting, was my name.
