As the howl grew louder, Jungkook’s senses sharpened. His pack was close. Too close. Tae’s crimson eyes darkened with worry as he scanned the woods, his grip on Jungkook tightening for a fleeting moment.
“No,” Jungkook said firmly, his voice trembling slightly, “I’m not running away this time.”
Tae’s brows furrowed. “Jungkook, don’t be reckless. If your pack finds you with me—”
“I don’t care,” Jungkook interrupted, stepping closer until their foreheads touched. “I’ve spent years hiding, lying, and denying what I feel for you. I can’t keep living like this. If tonight is the night we’re discovered, then so be it.”
The determination in Jungkook’s voice made Tae’s chest tighten. For centuries, he had been conditioned to suppress his desires, to prioritize his clan over his own happiness. But looking into Jungkook’s warm, unwavering gaze, he felt something crack within him—a need to fight for the love they both deserved.
“Jungkook…” Tae whispered, his voice breaking. “Do you mean it? Are you willing to face the consequences? To stand by me no matter what?”
Jungkook nodded without hesitation. “I’m yours, Tae. I’ve always been yours. And I’m tired of pretending otherwise.”
Tae’s breath hitched, his emotions swirling like a storm. For a moment, he was at a loss for words. Then, with a sudden burst of courage, he said, “Then let’s do it. Let’s stop hiding.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened in surprise. “You mean…”
“Yes,” Tae said, his voice steady now. “If we’re going to fight for this, we do it together. No more sneaking around. No more fear.”
Their moment was cut short by another howl, this one so close it made the ground beneath them tremble. Jungkook’s ears twitched, and he instinctively turned toward the direction of the sound.
“They’re coming,” Jungkook said, his tone resolute. “We need to face them. Together.”
Tae hesitated for only a second before nodding. “Together.”

Minutes later, the clearing was flooded with the presence of Jungkook’s pack. Wolves of various sizes emerged from the shadows, their eyes glowing with suspicion and hostility. The pack leader, a towering black wolf with piercing yellow eyes, shifted back into human form. It was Yoongi, Jungkook’s older brother.
“Jungkook,” Yoongi’s voice was cold, a mixture of anger and betrayal. “What is the meaning of this? You’re consorting with a vampire?”
Jungkook stepped forward, shielding Tae from the pack’s view. “This is Tae,” he said firmly. “He’s not just a vampire—he’s the one I love.”
Gasps and growls rippled through the crowd. Yoongi’s expression darkened, his fists clenching. “Do you have any idea what you’re saying? This goes against everything our kind stands for. Vampires are our enemies!”
“I don’t care about the centuries of hatred,” Jungkook shot back. “Tae isn’t my enemy. He’s the one who’s been by my side when no one else was. He’s the one who sees me for who I really am.”
Tae, sensing the hostility in the pack’s stance, stepped forward despite Jungkook’s protective position. “I don’t want to cause trouble between you and your family,” he said calmly. “But I won’t deny what I feel for Jungk.

Tae stepped back, his grip on Jungkook’s hand still strong. The sound of approaching footsteps made the air thick with tension, but there was no hesitation now. Tae’s decision had been made. He would fight, even if it meant everything they had known would be torn apart.
“Come with me,” Tae said, his voice low and commanding, but there was a tenderness that lingered in his words, a promise of something more.
Jungkook followed him without question, the world outside fading as they moved further into the woods. Their journey was swift, the moonlight guiding their way through the trees, but neither of them seemed to care about the danger that loomed. The pull between them was magnetic, undeniable.
As they reached a secluded spot by a stream, Tae stopped and turned to face Jungkook. The world seemed to hold its breath, the distant howls from the pack still echoing in the air, but this moment between them felt like it existed outside of time.
“This is it,” Tae said softly. His crimson eyes locked onto Jungkook’s, the weight of the decision settling over them both. “Once we take this step, there’s no going back.”
Jungkook nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. “I’m ready. I’ve been ready for so long.”
Tae’s hand reached up to gently cup Jungkook’s cheek, his touch both soft and intense, as though memorizing the feel of his skin. “You’re all I’ve ever wanted, Jungkook. But this world… it’s not kind to love like ours.”
“I don’t care about the world,” Jungkook replied, his voice steady and sure. “I care about you.”
With a final breath, Tae leaned forward, his lips finding Jungkook’s in a kiss that spoke of all the years of longing, all the years of restraint. It was fierce and passionate, a claim on each other, a promise that nothing would stand in their way anymore.
When they broke apart, both were breathless, their hearts racing, but neither could look away from the other.
“We’ll make our own world,” Tae said, his voice low and resolute.
Jungkook smiled, the weight of the moment settling over him like a warm embrace. “Together.”
The distant howls of the pack grew louder, but this time, Jungkook felt no fear. The pull of their love was far stronger than any threat that could come from their clans.
“We have to go,” Tae said suddenly, his tone sharp. “They’re closing in.”
But Jungkook was already one step ahead. He had no intention of running this time. He wasn’t hiding anymore. “I won’t run from you, Tae.”
Tae’s expression softened, and with a swift motion, he pulled Jungkook close, wrapping his arms around him in a tight embrace. For a moment, they stood there, just the two of them, their hearts beating as one.
“You know what this means, right?” Tae said, his voice rough with emotion. “The clans won’t tolerate this. They’ll hunt us down.”
Jungkook nodded, his hand resting on Tae’s.
