Landed on my window
As I sat on my bed, lost in thoughts,
My mind was dry, my creativity worn,
A blank page stared, with no story brought
Until a glimpse of beauty, which was born.
An oriental magpie-robin, black and white,
With feathers of blueish black, a wondrous sight.
He sat on the floor, of my barren land,
And I, with wonder, gazed at his grand plan.
Our eyes met, and he took to the air,
A short flight, and he landed with care,
On my window, where I sat in surprise,
Pushed back, stunned, with a gentle sigh.
He flew, but not away, just to the wall,
And I, with bated breath, watched him stand tall.
He played, and danced, with feathers so bright,
Bringing peace, and relief, to my troubled night.
I sought to repay, his gift so free,
With salty biscuits, crushed, an offering to see.
I placed them on the window, a token true,
But he, without landing, flew away, anew.
Though he's gone, his memory stays,
A lesson learned, in his playful ways.
He taught me to spread, my wings of freedom wide,
Even in the darkest cage, where fears reside.
I hope he'll return, one day, to my sight,
And I'll be ready, with a heart full of delight.
For in his visit, I found a peaceful nest,
A reminder to soar, and be my best.
