Adeline Riley was a young girl who loved her little sister more than
anything. But one fateful night, everything changed when her little
sister went missing and was later found dead in a nearby lake. The
investigation team prohibited anyone from seeing the little girl’s
body, but Adeline’s heartbreak pushed her to take matters into her
own hands. Unable to bear the uncertainty, she sneaked into the
nearby ambulance where her sister’s body was being held. The sight
that met her eyes was beyond anything she could have imagined.
Her sister’s body was covered in burn marks and horrifying signs of
torture. Not a single inch of her skin was untouched by brutality. Her
organs were missing, and blood stained the surroundings, creating a
nightmare that would haunt Adeline forever. She stood frozen,
horrified and deeply traumatized by the sheer cruelty inflicted on her
sister. Despite the trembling hands, Adeline forced herself to steady
her nerves. She was filled with sorrow as she tried to understand what
could have caused such a terrible act. Why had her sister suffered so
much? She quickly left the ambulance and went home with her
parents, her mind was filled with pain and unanswered questions.
She had no idea this was just the start of a journey that would reveal
the darkest truths around her.
The next day, Adeline’s father told her that the police had closed
the case, claiming it was simply an animal attack. But deep down,
something didn’t sit right with her. She felt that there was more to the
story, something hidden beneath the surface of her little sister’s
death. Still, she pushed those thoughts aside. A few days later, after
a long and exhausting school day, Adeline was walking home when
she saw something unusual. A little girl, who used to live in her
neighbourhood, was strolling towards an old apartment building,
holding her father’s hand tightly. The walls were cracked, and the
place looked abandoned, as if no one had lived there for over a
decade. The sight sent a chill down Adeline’s spine. Something
about it felt wrong. Adeline was too scared to act, so she turned and
hurried back home. The next morning, Adeline woke up to the shocking news: the little girl she had seen was missing. A few days
later her body was found in the same condition as Adeline’s sister. A
chilling realisation struck her – this had to be connected to her sister’s
death. Something deep inside her snapped, and she knew she
couldn’t ignore it any longer. This time, Adeline knew exactly where
to start, She replayed everything in her mind and clearly
remembered the last time she saw that little girl – she was walking
into the old apartment with her father. A sense of unease grow inside
her, and she decided too investigate the apartment herself, hoping
to find clues that could help solve the mystery.
That same day, she went inside the apartment. It was covered in
dust, as far as the eye could see. The furniture looked as though it
hadn’t been touched since the mid-80s. Despite everything,
something caught her eyes in the corner of the room. There was a
door, glazed over and secured with a password lock. Adeline found
it strange – why would there be a locked door with a password in
such an old, abandoned building? She couldn’t do anything about
it, though – she didn’t know the password. The sun was setting so, she
decided to wait outside the apartment for few days, hoping to
catch someone going in or out, or perhaps find some clues that
would explain the mystery behind that locked door.
Three days later, Adeline saw the bakery owner heading towards the
mysterious apartment. She followed cautiously, staying hidden in the
shadows. As he approached the door, she noticed him glancing
around before punching in a code on the keypad. Adeline held her
breath, her curiosity growing, and managed to catch a glimpse of
the password before the door opened and the man slipped inside.
For a moment, she debated following him, but the darkening street
reminded her of the time. Her family was probably started to worry.
Reluctantly, she decided to leave the mystery for another day and
went back home.
The next morning, Adeline woke to the sound of birds chirping and a
crisp wind tousling her messy hair. The air felt fresh and full of
excitement, hinting at the adventure ahead. After freshening up and
eating a quick breakfast, she packed her bag carefully: a small
bottle of pepper spray, a sleek pocket knife, and a flashlight. She
needed to be prepared for whatever lay ahead. She reached her
destination, The apartment, it stood in front of her, its dark shape casting long shadows against the dangerous mountain behind it. It
looked scarier than ever. With a deep breath she approached the
keypad and entered the password she’d memorised. The door
unlocked with a faint beep, and her heart pounded as she pushed it
open. To her surprise, the door opened to reveal a long, dark tunnel.
Flickering lights lined the walls, casting shadows that danced in the
dim light. The air was cold and damp, filled with a strange and
metallic scent. The tunnel stretched deep into the darkness, too far
for Adeline to see What was at the other end. Her heart raced, and
fear gripped her, but she refused to turn back. Taking a deep
breath, she whispered to herself, “I have to finish this”. With her hands
trembling, she stepped into the tunnel, determined to uncover the
mystery once and for all. After what felt like an eternity, Adeline
reached the end of the tunnel and saw a strange, dim light. Was it
moonlight? But she had entered in the morning, and only an hour or
two had passed. Confused, she wondered why it seemed like night.
Curiosity overwhelmed her fear. She couldn’t resist the pull of the
light. Without a second thought, she began to run towards it, her
heart racing. The closer she got, the brighter it became, drawing her
in. She reached the end of the tunnel, but what she saw felt like a
thunderstrike to her senses. Before her lay a whole new world.
Towering, majestic buildings stretched into the sky. It felt like night,
yet she entered in the morning. A blood-red moon hovered above a
tall spire in the centre of the city. Adrenaline rushed through her
body as disbelief gripped her – she could hardly process what she
was seeing. As she stood frozen, she noticed people walking the
streets, all wearing plain masks. Their identities were hidden , but one
thing stood out – each person had a strange Tattoo on their neck, a
triangle with a snake wrapped around it. Adeline’s mind raced. The
sight was both fascinating and terrifying, leaving her a state of
shock. This placed was unlike anything she had ever known, and it
was somehow tied to the mystery of her sister’s death. With a mix of
fear and determination, she began to explore, hoping to find
answers. As she went deeper into the strange city, she stumbled
upon secret dealings – people selling weapons, exchanging
forbidden information, and much more. The underworld was alive
and thriving here, and Adeline knew that to uncover the truth, she
would have to dive deeper into its shadows. Adeline ventured deeper into the strange city, her heart pounding with both fear and
curiosity. Eventually, she stumbled upon an old building that seemed
like an abandoned house. She crept inside, her eyes widening in
horror as she realised what was happening. Human trafficking was
taking place right before her eyes. People were being sold like
property, treated as nothing more than commodities – slaves,
organs, lives, all being traded without a second thought. Disgust and
fear washed over her, but she knew she had to act. She quickly
pulled out her phone, snapping pictures of the transactions as
evidence. This had to stop, and the police needed to know. But as
she tried to leave, she bumped into someone, and her mask nearly
slipped off. Panick surged, but she calmly adjusted it, relived the
stranger hadn’t seen her face. As she adjusted her mask and looked
up at the stranger, an overwhelming sense of familiarity hit her. It was
as if she had known him for years. The strange connection was hard
to ignore, especially in such a dark place. Confused and distracted,
Adeline quickly shook it off. She couldn’t let her feelings cloud her
judgement. With a final glance, she hurries towards the exit, her mind
racing with questions she couldn’t yet answer. Overwhelmed, she
decided to rest for the night, planning to report everything to the
police with the evidence she had gathered the next day.
That night, Adeline couldn’t shake the thought of her sister suffering
at the hands of such cruel people. She knew their father, who loved
both daughters deeply, was the second person who cared most for
her sister. Before reporting to the police, she decided she had to tell
him everything first. He deserved to know the truth.
The next day, Adeline went to her father to reveal everything she
had discovered. But as she stood behind him something felt off-
uneasy, almost as if the air around her had shifted. She couldn’t
explain it, but her instincts told her something wasn’t right. Confused,
she called her father. He turned around, and in that moment, her
world seemed to freeze. Her eyes widened in shock. She couldn’t
process what she was swing. Her father- this man she has trusted and
adored- had the same tattoo she had seen on the people in the
underworld. The triangle with a snake wrapped around it. Her
breath caught in her throat. She couldn’t believe it. She had always
seen her father as her protector, the one who would never hurt her.
But now, in that moment the truth hit her like a gut punch. The man she had called “dad” was somehow connected to the darkness she
has uncovered. How could this be? Adeline compose herself and
walked away from her father, her mind racing. The only people who
could help her now were the police. She rushed towards the station,
determined to find answers. As she neared the entrance, a van
pulled up, and to her horror, the police chief stepped out. She froze,
her heart pounding as she saw the same tattoo on his neck.
That was the moment it hit her: she had fallen into an abyss of
corruption and lies. The realisation was staggering. Everyone she had
trusted- the people she had trusted- the people she thought were
her protectors- was connected to the very darkness she had
uncovered. Her own father had killed her sister for money, and now
she understood the depth of the betrayal. As anger and helplessness
rushed within her, Adeline promised herself that she would make
them pay. Though she was still just a teenager, she swore to seek
revenge for the children who suffered at the hands of these greedy,
inhuman beings. She would bring them down, no matter the cost.
