Ch-4 (If I Find You, I Will Kill You)
**Fight or Flight**
Suddenly, the doorknob rattled. **Tick-tock... tick-tock.** Time was slipping away, each second filled with dread.
The chair under the knob trembled with each twist. Whoever was on the other side was trying to get in. Samira could feel the panic rising in her throat. She had to move. Now.
Grabbing her phone, she bolted for the bathroom, slamming the door behind her. She locked it with a loud **click**. For a moment, all she could hear was her own breathing—**shhh... shhh...**—and the relentless pounding of her heart—**badum, badum, badum.**
Then came the footsteps.
Soft, slow, deliberate. Moving through the apartment. **Tick-tock. Tick-tock.** They stopped right outside the bathroom door.
Her phone buzzed again. She stared at the screen, her vision blurry with fear.
**New Message: “I’m inside the apartment now.”**

**The Final Moment**
Samira pressed her back against the cold tile wall, clutching the phone as if it were her lifeline. Her heart pounded so violently she thought it might burst—**badum, badum, badum.**
The doorknob to the bathroom **twisted slowly**.
She held her breath, trying not to make a sound. She knew whoever was on the other side could hear her—**feel her fear.**
The phone buzzed one last time. Samira didn’t want to look. But she had to.
**New Message: “I found you.”**
The door creaked open.
A shadowy figure stood in the doorway. **Its face hidden, its presence thick with menace.**
And then she heard it. That same low, deliberate whisper:
**“If I find you... I will kill you.”**
Her heart gave one final, violent **BADUM!**—and everything went dark.

**The Aftermath**
When the police arrived the next morning, the apartment was empty. No signs of forced entry. No sign of Samira.
Her phone lay on the bathroom floor, screen cracked but still flickering. The last message glowed faintly in the dim light:
**“I told you I’d find you.”**

**The End.**
