Once upon a time in a peaceful pond, there lived a little green frog named Freddy. Freddy had one great love in life—cakes. He wasn't interested in the flies other frogs hopped after or the fresh, juicy bugs his friends savored. No, Freddy's heart belonged to cakes of all kinds.
Every day, Freddy would hop to the nearby bakery owned by a kind old turtle named Mr. Tuttle. Freddy would gaze through the window, his eyes wide with wonder as he watched Mr. Tuttle bake cupcakes, layered cakes, and pastries of all shapes and sizes.
One day, Mr. Tuttle noticed Freddy's longing eyes and decided to surprise him. "Why don't you come inside, Freddy? I have some cake crumbs just for you," said Mr. Tuttle.
Freddy's heart leapt with joy. He hopped inside, and from that day on, he visited the bakery daily. Mr. Tuttle would always have a fresh slice of cake ready for him. Freddy ate and ate, savoring every crumb, every bite.
As time passed, Freddy grew rounder and rounder. He became so plump that he could hardly hop anymore. His once energetic jumps turned into tiny, tired hops. The other frogs in the pond began to worry.
"Freddy, you need to be careful! Eating too much cake isn't good for you," they warned.
But Freddy didn’t listen. He was too in love with the sweet taste of cakes. One evening, after a particularly large slice of chocolate cake, Freddy felt so full that he could barely move. As he waddled back to the pond, he found himself too heavy to hop over a small rock in his path. He tried to jump, but he just couldn't do it.
Freddy realized then that he had let his love for cakes get the best of him. He missed the days when he could hop high and fast, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Freddy decided it was time for a change.
The next morning, Freddy went to see Mr. Tuttle. "Mr. Tuttle, I think I've had enough cake for now. I need to start hopping around like a real frog again," Freddy said, a little sadly.
Mr. Tuttle smiled and nodded. "That’s very wise of you, Freddy. How about I make you a special treat once a week instead? You can enjoy it without overdoing it."
Freddy agreed, and from that day on, he began hopping around the pond again, slowly but surely losing the extra weight. He still visited Mr. Tuttle, but now he ate just a little cake and spent the rest of his time playing with his friends and catching flies.
Freddy learned that while cakes were delicious, enjoying them in moderation was the key to staying healthy and happy. And so, Freddy the frog lived happily ever after, with his heart full of joy and just the right amount of cake.
