THE AURELIUS ACADEMY was spacious, the academy itself look like a small castle. It was once a prestigious school with almost over a thousand student, that is until two years ago. The academy became one of the places where suicidal rate was high. That was the end of Aurelius Academy as one of the prestigious academy, only a few had the courage to even enroll in here after what happened two years ago.
And I'm one of those students. Aurelius Academy had been one of my dream school since gradeschool, although my parents was against my decision to board in here, they let me go.
That incidents didn't stop me from pursuing this school. It wasn't disappointing, I can see why this once was a prestigious school. Everything was being accountable for, from students' dorm, uniform, food, everything. And since there was only around hundred plus students, they seem to be giving it all. I'm honestly surprised they did not close after being on the news.
“Aren't you tired reading that same papers, Chiara?” Anika, my classmate and friend said glancing over at the journal papers in my desk as she sat down in front of me. “Are you planning to memorize that? You've been reading that since day one.”
I smiled, “I'm just analyzing it, honestly I get some more infor as i read it over and over, it's fun!”
“Reading is fun? Sure.” She waved her hand sipping at her avocado milk.
Well, to some it may be a boring hobby, but it's fun for me. Not only does it help me analyze the words and structures of the paper but also help me gain deeper knowledge the more I read about it. Especially if it's about an incident or unsolve cases. They're fun to read, connecting the dots and theorizing who the killer is and how exactly did they executed the murders.
“You know, it's kinda boring, there's only 15 students per class here.” Anika stated, looking at our classmates.
Every class from first to third years, there are only fifteen to twenty students in each rooms given the fact that there's only a hundred student enrolled and almost all of us are high school. The college buildings were just here like decoration. One might think that the current third years would stay, but most of the graduates here, go to other colleges.
It is quite a lonely academy with such few students. There are some instances that students from other academy visits us, but that's just it, there's only a very few chances to get new students.
“The only hot guys in this academy that is the same year as us is Elios from class C and Asael. I wanna date either of them so bad!” Anika turn towards the boy in front talking to some classmate. "Isn't he gorg'!" She said fluttering her eyelash.
Asael Miranda. I guess you could say, he's your typical hunk in the class, not gonna lie. I do am attracted to him. I'm a sucker for good looking guys. But I'm not gonna say I like him — like I have a crush on him, because I don't. Merely an admiration.
"Hey, do you think he and I make a great match?" She asked out of the blue.
I let out a chuckle. "Of course, you yourself can pull him off."
Anika has a strong charm, honestly I look quite dull in comparison with her. I'm not saying I look ugly, I know I'm pretty, but if i compare myself to Anika, then I'm pretty much at loss. She has this amber colored eyes, it's one of her distinct features.
"Why? You don't think you could?" She asked raising a brow. I shook my head and let out chuckle. "C'mon, Chiara! Have more Faith in yourself, you have a luscious brown hair and eyes, plus your pretty like me! And you have something I don't!"
"And that is. . .?" I trailed off.
"Boobs!" She yelled which made the entire class to look at us. I could feel my face burning by her statement.
Oh gosh, how can she yell that? Besides, she doesn't have a flat chest, it's small, but she still has boobs. And does she think it is nice to have. . . Big boobs? It hurts when I run, I can't even run down and up the stairs. Button up shirts doesn't always work for me. and some cute dresses will always be short in front and longer at back for me. Crop tops too.
"It isn't nice as you think." I uttered shaking my head.
"Come on, boys like it big, just like how I like theirs." She jested, her brows going up and down. I pushed her lightly because the boys were already staring at us. Goodness, this girl. "Oh come on, it's true!"
"Keep it down, Anika. . .the boys are looking." I whispered, lightly bobbing my head to the gathered boys in our class.
Anika puffed air, crossing her arms around in her chest. "Who cares? I'm just stating a fact." She dismissed.
Only I sighed in retun, I gaze back looking at the journals.
"What? What are you jerks laughing at?!" I heard Anika spat. The boys also started chuckling when she did.
I ignored the banter that had started between Anika and the three boys along with her so called crush, Asael— but it didn't seem like he was bantering back. Glancing upon them, he was just there, laughing.
"Guys! Guys! GUYS!"
Suddenly, Danica— Anika's cousin and one of our classmates came rushing in with a mortified expression. She was pale, and her hand that she placed on the door frame was apparently shaking.
The boys who was close to the door— Julius, approached her. "Whoah there, calm down. What's with you?" He asked, guiding her inside.
Everyone in the room approached her.
"Marlon. . . He. . ." Danica's voice cracked, tears started streaming down her face. If I'm not mistaken, Marlon was her suitor. She was supposed to answer him today.
"Okay, breathe in." Anika immediately went to her side, pulling out a handkerchief as she wipe the stream of tears off her cousin. "What happened? What happened to Marlon?" She asked, concerned, continuing wiping Danica's face.
Danica took a deep breath, I watched her gaze upon Anika. Soon she began wailing in anguish.
". . . Marlon, he's. . . he's dead."
