"Dangerous love at dangerous times."
The country is peacefully ruled by the government, but hidden from the eyes of the public is the underground world of the mafia. In the middle of these two seperate worlds are the agents --- organization of detectives, assassins, and spies.
Jenica Laurel. The female protagonist who deserted her dying husband and lost her son when she returned five years later. She goes by various aliases, including secret agent J, divine doctor Acinea, and top hacker Code X, which she uses to make relationships with influential families in order to finish her mission in the country and find her missing son.
Alexander Fuego. The terminally ill male lead who sought a wife who would inherit his wealth in order to prevent his selfish relatives from squandering his hard-earned money. He is the country's covert Mafia King, and his identity is the motivation for numerous assassination attempts. He is skeptical of Jenica's claim that they have a son, yet he orders his men to search for the youngster he never met. His fake engagement to another woman is a ruse he created in order to capture the assassin as well as investigate the events of five years ago (the reason his wife fled).
