There in the snow he lied back.
Back into the icy cold
A thought generated that he couldn't retract
"This is the reddest I've ever seen my blood show" he said with a laugh.
Was it the loss of or perhaps it was the snow
Perhaps but even so is it the snow or the white that makes it seem to glow
A few feet away a blacken mist slowly manifested and twist
With each twist fades the mans humor until its gone with its intense presence
Curious whats within the fog his eyes transfixed
Head raised body laying down
Down shot lightning bolts cracking the earthly ground
As the cloud turned black and gray his hands balled into fists
The wind began to whistle and hiss
The supernatural manifestation grew darker and revealed itself as a cloak flowing from a creature many thought didnt truly exist
One that has a hood that is overly well known
It was the grim reaper claimer of souls
Crpyt keeper who etches your name in stone
His upper face may have been hidden from view
Yet the man could see his scythe and already knew what the apparition came here to do
His job he must be good at it too
For his job is also his name if thats not a clue
With each step the figure took to get close
A new symptom was imposed to the man whose blood pressure rose
One
His ears rang and sounds distorted and fell to the point
eventually he couldn't hear himself shout
Two
Please stop he thought but his breath wasn't strong enough to get the words out
Three
Instead burst forth more red as he coughed releasing air that would be replaced with liquid in his lungs
Four
He no longer could hold his head up to count the steps anymore
Back into the snow his head flung
He didn't need to see cause his vision was blurred and noise unheard over the sound his ears rung
His breathing almost non existent and weak
No oxygen depleted brain activity to process the words left to speak
Then over him it loomed drawing back the legendary sickle evoking ones doom
This is the end of it all was his last thought now awaiting his tomb
In this moment the pain was so severe he was ready for it all to stop
Deep into his chest the sharpened tip sought
With the puncture of his skin a bright light engulfing everything consuming him from within
Then everything was gone his eyes tried to adjust
A noise of a projectors reels in the distance clicked and speakers buzz
Looking around to see himself in a theater alone to be sure he looked left and right real quick
He shouted then leaned back No one else to hear his calls
Screen in front of him glowing black on the wall
With anticipation he sunk his finger in the arm rest and dug in the seat with his back
Then a flicker and a screen in the darkness began to glow and through the speakers noise started to crack
The film was a video that took him down his entire life's road
He had various emotions as his story unfolds.
At the end the projector shuts off and lights return to bright and gold
Realizing his situation his stomach ached as if he was going to be sick wishing it all was a nightmare or a joke
Then he heard a noise that made his blood run cold
Something was amiss
He panned the seats until behind him a noise of someone's multiple tsks
He spun to see the Reaper who burst into a hysterical comical howl slapping his leg each time popping his wrist
Producing across the mans face a angered scowl the Reaper couldn't have missed
His eyes transfixed on the empty eye sockets of the reapers skull
His laughter faded and he jumped right in and didn't stall giving it to the man in full
"Did you have a life worth living? Or was it worth watching at all?"
Then with a jackyl laugh His head dropped to look the man in the face with a dramatic
pause leaning closer till they were hollow hole to nose
So close he could see the cracks in his bones
"Or were you a failure who wasted your chance creating a show not worthy of a single solitary theater rose"
The man stood and looked into the creature's pits where its eyes once lied and now only empty sockets sit
And what was his words that he spit?
The same as yours when you have to give the reapers scythe an impending try
What will you say when you die?
Was your movie worth viewing or would you ask for another try?
Something to think about as you lay unable to fall asleep into the night
You will see him I assure you
It's just a matter of time
Before the final bell tolls signaling the cease of your life
What will your answer be when you wave the world goodbye
Did you truly live or were you even alive
That's all folks and as always he said with a nod and a grin
Each tooth flickering evoking that of intentional sin
Stay grim out there farewell and till we meet again
And with that he was gone burst into ash with a spin
Left alone for a moment till the lights flickered off and eyesights began to decend
Are you ready for the ride?
Or better yet are you ready for it to.....
