Jungkook, a servant without voice, is forced to trick a Oman named Taehyung into marrying his employer through a false photo. However, Taehyung falls in love with Jungkook and tries his best to be with him.

Handsome but mute, Jeon Jungkook is raised by the powerful Choi Seojung, to whom he is loyal. But he treats him like a slave. Jungkook is also unnecessarily beaten by Seojung's brother Choi Beomgil, a violent psychopath. A ruthless and cruel man with a large appetite for young women, Seojung kills anyone who dares to defy him.
Seojung sees Kim Taehyung, a happy innocent villager, and wishes to marry him. However, Taehyung wants to see a photo of his future husband first. Aware that he would instantly reject him, so, Seojung sends him a photo of Jungkook. Taehyung instantly agrees, and the wedding proceeds.
However, before the ceremony is completed, he discovers that Jungkook isn't his groom and faints; Seojung orders the priest to continue, though the marriage would be invalid while Taehyung is unconscious. When he regains consciousness, he sees Seojung trying to consummate their marriage and is shocked upon learning they're married. He imprisons and tortures Taehyung.
Taehyung tries to commit suicide but Jungkook saves him. He accuses him of ruining his life but upon realising his(Kook's) innocence thanks to the son of Seojung's doctor who sometimes serves as his interpreter, he is sorry. When Taehyung's brother Daehyun comes to see him, Seojung threatens Tae to lie to him that he is happy otherwise he will kill Daehyun. Taehyung does so.
However, Jungkook, unable to see Taehyung in misery, reveals the truth to Daehyun by writing in the dirt as Daehyun is about to leave. Seojung and Beomgil kill Daehyun who returned to rescue Taehyung. Moments before dying, he has Jungkook promise him to save Taehyung; he and Jungkook flee Seojung's mansion. Enraged, Seojung begins a murderous search to find Taehyung and Jungkook with the help of an old friend of his who is a corrupt Cops.
After a long chase through the jungle and mountains, Jungkook uses his survival skills to kill Seojung's men. Seojung and his men leave due to being disadvantaged. During this, Taehyung and Jungkook begin to fall in love. Unexpectedly, Seojung who is back with reinforcements sees and captures them by shooting Taehyung in the arm.
Jungkook is brutally beaten by Beomgil, and the corrupt Cop, and Seojung slits his throat, then leaves him to die in the mountains; and Taehyung is sold to a brothel after Seojung discovers he loves Jungkook. There, Tzuyu, Seojung's former lover who was disowned by him after she too fell for Jungkook once (when he tried to protect her from being raped by Beomgil and was beaten by him when Jungkook stopped defending himself in the process for reasons unknown) and was sold to the same brothel, saves Taehyung from what had been done to him. To stop Tzuyu from doing so, Beomgil at his brother's orders, humiliates her in public, before stabbing her with a knife when she tries to do the same to him in order to protect Taehyung. Jungkook is found and saved by a village boy who brings him to his grandfather (a healer), who operates on his throat while he is still unconscious. The healer, who discovers that Shankar is not mute by birth, is able to repair some of the damaged nerves in Jungkook's throat, enabling him to speak.
While recovering, Jungkook recalls that when he was a boy¹⁰, his father discovered diamonds in the coal mine, however, he and his wife were murdered in front of Jungkook by two mysterious men; when young Jungkook threatened to tell his parents' colleagues what they did, someone came up from behind him and shoved hot coals into his throat, rendering him mute. Seojung, who had known Jungkook's parents, ordered the police to kill those men, but unknown to everyone, Jungkook included, the police led by the corrupt Cop only pretended to kill the men while Seojung adopted Jungkook. Jungkook recovers and returns; first, he fights and kills Beomgil and is reunited with Taehyung after rescuing him from the same men that killed his parents, and bought Taehyung from the brothel, killing one of the men in the process. Simultaneously, while killing him, Jungkook discovers that Seojung was the person who made him mute and who ordered his parents to be killed so he could steal their wealth. In the meantime, he reunites with Seojung's doctor and son who believed him dead.
With the help of Taehyung and the doctor's son, he kills Seojung's other henchman and then reveals Seojung's crimes to his coal miners. Taehyung arrives with his uncle and aunt, forcing them to admit their involvement in making him marry Seojung. Seojung's doctor and his son turn against him, revealing that he not only deceived Taehyung, but is also responsible for numerous killings and rapes. They order everyone to throw rocks at him and his men. Seojung manages to shoot a few of the workers and his doctor in the arm. In the chaos, the corrupt Cop scares everyone away by throwing grenades but is killed by Jungkook, who then chases and corners Seojung, who begs for his life. He tries to give Jungkook reasons to spare his life, pointing out that he adopted him and saved his life, however, Jungkook disregards this by countering that Seojung adopted him to make him a slave. After dodging a pickaxe thrown at him by Seojung, he kills him by spilling oil and coal around Seojung and setting him on fire with a burning rock. Jungkook and Taehyung embrace each other, finally at peace.
