Have you ever slept in a graveyard? Moreover on a tomb? I don't know if you did, but I have. It's not as you are thinking a dare. I am not that brave enough to accept such a dare. This is the story of how I spent my night in a graveyard.

It was a beautiful night that day. I sat on the window seat of the bus, looking at the silhouettes (of trees or something else but as there was no street lights I couldn't see it clearly) rushing past us. I was exhausted after a long journey and longed for a good night's sleep.
That's right, We (me,my mates and some of our teachers) were on a tour to a hill station called Munnar. It is said to be one of the most beautiful hill station in Kerela. The green mist covered hills is indeed a pleasant sight to the eyes.
As I was musing over how I am going to enjoy myself in Munnar, the bus came to an abrupt stop. We were all anxious that ,Why would the driver suddenly stop the bus? After a complete check up on the bus, the driver said that our bus has broke down and we will have to sleep here instead of the hotel we were heading to(coz we won't be able to do anything about the bus till the morning).
So,we decided that some of us will sleep outside while the others will sleep inside. I love sleeping in the open, looking at the stars. So, me and my mates who vouched for sleeping outside set out in search of a suitable place (Hey, don't forget I took my banana patterned blanket with me). We found a place where there was stone slabs or probably concrete slabs (whatever,it was pitch black and even with our flashlights we couldn't make out anything) in rows and columns, slightly elevated from the ground, perfectly cut out just to fit us. We felt extremely lucky to have found it. Finally, We called it a day and settled down to sleep.
I laid down, staring at the starry night and the bright moonlight filtering through the trees. I could hear the chirpping of the crickets and the distant howling of the wolves. The cool breeze kissed my cheeks and I felt at pure state of bliss. I slept peacefully throughout the night. As I was immersed in deep sleep, I suddenly felt a weight settling down on my stomach.(My brother used to sit on my stomach and would scream in my ear to wake me up). Assuming that it was my brother I slightly shifted the lump of weight on my stomach. Something didn't feel right. Niether the texture of his skin nor the sound he produced was his. I opened my eyes to come in face to face with a monkey. I don't who intiated to scream first,me or the monkey but I was sure of one thing we scared the hell out of ourselves and our mates(note:the other monkeys who where messing around are the mates of the monkey) as well.
My mates had woke up welcoming the sunlight and monkey troop had fled from here to the cluster of trees surrounding the graveyard (I don't know what attracted the monkey's attention to me,Oh yeah! It's probably the banana patterned blanket! ). Wait...did I say graveyard? Oh yeah, That's when I noticed a headstone near my foot with an R.I.P written on it. And then the realization struck me that the slab that I slept on was actually a tomb, and the magnificent night that I enjoyed so much was actually in a graveyard!
Suddenly the night that I enjoyed much seemed to be less attractive. I could literally feel the chilly cold air, hear the spooky noises and see the souls of the dead haunting me and choking me while I was sleeping. I sat there petrified, unable to ware of the initial shock.

Have you guys had any such funny yet spooky experiences? Though this was not the only creepy experience I have had. It was yet unforgettable. Now I can confidently say to any one who dares me to sleep in a graveyard that I've already slept in one!🤣😂
