"Run Kes! Run!" Aden yelled at me through the bluetooth earpiece.
"What else do you think I am doing?" I bit back and forced my aching feet to break into a sprint. I could hear footsteps gaining on me so I took a sharp left and continued running.
"How could you forget extra bullets?" Aden asked obviously amused and panicked at the same time.
"Oh, pardon me for thinking that I'll have to handle only four people." I retorted as I remembered when Aden told me early this morning that I have a mission to eliminate four people but turns out there are thirteen of them. I've managed to kill eight of them but five are still behind me and I have absolutely no ammo. This successfully shut up Aden and I sighed in slight relief.
Footsteps grew louder and now I could even hear the five chasers yelling at me.
"Stop right there or I'll shoot you." One of them yelled.
"I would like to see you try." I replied while maintaining my pace and threw a cart filled with fruits behind me to obstruct the goons. We were playing chase in a street market and instead of helping, people just watched us with fascination or screamed in panick. Some of them even yelled at me for creating a ruckus.
Stupid citizens, I am doing this for their safety and what do I get in return? Yelling and scolding. Yup that's what I get.
I was leading the hooligans somewhere less crowded to avoid any casualties. So when I found an alley I made a beeline towards it. I made sure that the guys saw me entering the alley.
I climbed up the pipe which led to the terrace of a run down house. The house wasn't very tall and it looked like no one resided in there. When the guys came looking for me I couldn't help but crack a psychotic smile.
Fortunately the alley was long enough to keep the goons distracted for a minute as they looked around in search of my pretty ***. Once they were all inside I jumped on one of them who stood at the entrance of the alley in hopes of blocking the opening of the passageway and it successfully did the trick.
The guy who I attacked shrieked in surprise catching the attention of others as they turned around abruptly to look at me.
Without a second thought I snatched the gun away from the man who was lying on the ground with his back facing upwards while I was practically sitting on his shoulder blades.
I stood as fast as humanly possible and shot him in the head.
One down four left. My subconscious cheered and a small smirk played on my lips.
The four hooligans looked absolutely shocked and when they recovered they took out their guns and pointed the nuzzles at me.
"****" The one at the right corner muttered under his breath but the sound echoed in the silent alley.
"Drop that gun right now bitch." The guy in the front shouted trying to sound intimidating.
I just shrugged and crouched down to drop the gun. The guys visibly relaxed even before I could place the gun on floor and taking the opportunity I shot the guy who called me a bitch in the stomach from my crouched down position.
That's what you get when you start name calling me.
The others flinched in shock and the guy I shot fell to the ground while writhing in pain.
I ran towards the three guys left and as if snapping out of their trance they started shooting in my direction. Dodging the bullets I picked up a cardboard which was lying around carelessly and used it as a shield. I shot another guy in the chest and he fell perished on the ground.
Only two guys left. My subconscious counted.
By now I was out of ammo again so I threw the gun at one of the guys and it hit him right on the head. Next I took hold of the same pipe and lifted up my body with its support and kicked the other guy in the face with both of my legs.
He fell on the ground due to the impact while dropping his pistol in the process. I picked it up and shot him in the heart.
I was about to make my way out of the alley when a bullet came flying in my direction. I merely dodged the bullet and looked at the shooter. It was the same guy who I threw my gun at. Oops forgot about him.
The guy shot me again but this time right in my chest. I gasped in shock and he had the audacity to smirk at me.
"Seriously dude, you thought I would come here without wearing a bullet proof jacket? Rookie move. You should have shot me in the head but your bad." I shrugged and now I was the one smirking. I shot him using the gun which I picked up just a second ago before he could process anything and he too fell dead on the ground. Well that was enough action for the day.
"Kes you alive?" Aden's voice boomed as the bluetooth earpiece came to life again.
"Very much." I replied happily and tucked the pistol behind my back in my jeans. Aden sighed in relief.
"Thank God. Anyways our people will be there in a minute and will take care of the bodies so you can come back and report to agent Dylan." He said and I nodded forgetting that he couldn't see me.
"Okay thanks." With that I made my way back to the area where it all started and where I parked my bike.
The black beauty stood proudly in a corner and at one glance a smile appeared on my face. My bike is an all black Ducati Panigale V4. It cost me a fortune but it was worth it. Ever since I laid my eyes on it, I knew it was mine so I saved money and bought it. The thrill of riding it still leaves me awestruck and I am completely addicted.

Taking off my helmet I marched inside the building and made my way towards the receptionist.
"Hey! Kestrel." One of the receptionist greeted like usual and I passed her a smile.
"I suppose Aden is in his cabin, right?" I asked and threw a nod at those who passed me and smiled my way.
"Yup. Remember to take the right elevator. Left one is under maintenance." She reminded me and I nodded back.
"Got it. Thanks." I took the right elevator as told and pressed the button to the third floor.
I knocked once on the door and entered before I was invited in.
"Why do you even bother to knock?" The brown haired lean guy asked while feigning annoyance.
"Something about good manners I guess." I replied back and plopped on the chair in front of his desk. Aden just sighed in return.
"Anyways, I am surprised that you made out alive." He said impressed.
"Well what can I say, I am the best." I flipped back my hair and chuckled.
"Hey give the guy behind the screen some credit." He yelled playfully. Aden is a pro when it comes to technology so he handles everything behind the screens and fetches information using internet. Therefore he is a part of the IT group and is the best at his job amongst others. Hence, he has his own cabin. But no matter how smart he is he also makes mistakes but that happens rarely like he did today with the false count of goons. He has been my partner in a number of missions, this mission was no different.
"Anyways here is the file of the mission. You can report to Agent Dylan now." He said passing me the manila colored file and his brown eyes fluttered back to the computer screen.
I gave him a mock salute before making my way to Agent Dylan's cabin.
I knocked thrice precisely before the door was opened. Agent Dylan's head popped out and I gasped in surprise. I wasn't expecting him to open the door himself.
"Oh, Hello Agent Choi. Anything you need." He muttered quickly almost in a panicked tone. I frowned at his weird behavior but shrugged it off.
"Yes sir. I am here to report about my mission." I said after composing myself and straightened my back. He nodded his head in understanding and opened the door for me.
"Drop the files on my desk. I'll look at them and call you once I am done with the meeting." He commanded and I mumbled 'yes' before marching towards his desk.
As I entered the room I saw five people sitting on the couches in the corner. Two of them were females while the others were males. They all sat erect like someone pushed a pause button. They all had an awkward smile stuck on their lips. They looked very familiar but they surely weren't CIA agents.
CIA agents are composed and can handle stress like its nothing but looking at them I could sense something was wrong. My eyes briefly landed on the coffee table between the couches. It had a few files lying on it one of which was left open. I caught a glimpse of what seemed to be a blueprint of an airplane before one of the girls closed the file. My eyes flickered to the girls face. A smirk was etched on her lips and she raised an amused brow that's when it hit me. She was a criminal that I caught nearly an year ago. Infact two of the males were also criminals who I caught weeks ago.
Something was extremely wrong and I could feel it. There is one thing CIA taught me and that is to trust my instincts.
The people here were all sharing some confidential information but why would some criminals have access to information which I knew nothing about.
They could be blackmailing agent Dylan. Maybe he's in trouble. My subconscious said and my body tensed instantly.
There is only one way to find out what's going on and that is to eavesdrop. I kept the file on the desk and took out a pen to place it on top of the file with my right hand while I used my left hand to discretely pull out the bluetooth earpiece which I used for my mission and turned it on. I called Aden and once I was sure that Aden was listening, I dropped the pen and crouched down to pick it up. While picking it up I threw the bluetooth earpiece under the desk so no one could see it.
This wasn't the usual bluetooth earpiece. It was capable of hearing all the people in this room very clearly which the normal device can't do.
Once I was sure that I had done what I intended to do, I left the office.
___
I made a beeline towards Aden's cabin and practically barged in.
"Why did you call me using the bluetooth?" He asked completely confused.
"Tell me you didn't end the call." I said alarmed and took sharp intakes of breath.
"No, I didn't." His confusion only increased and I sighed in relief.
"Thank god. Now put it on speaker and let me listen." I commanded and he obliged.
Agent Dylan's voice boomed in the room as he said "Will you be able to do it?"
"Yes. Hijacking the plane won't be a problem but how will we get out before it blasts." A girl asked and my breath got caught in the throat. What the heck was going on?
"Don't worry. Two of my people will be there and they will help you get out." Agent Dylan reassured. "And you know if you do us this favor we'll take down all the charges against you and you'll gain your freedom. Help the CIA and CIA will help you."
Aden stared at me wide eyed and I was sure that I mirrored his actions. This was some fucked up shit. They were practically conspiring to blast a plane and then set these criminals free. A part of me yelled at me to run and forget about it because if Agent Dylan found out that I was hearing I would be dead in seconds. But the other righteous part of me knew that I'll have to stop this by hook or by crook.
The righteous me is so fucking dominant that I couldn't help but ignore the thought of running away and just like that I signed my own death warrant.
