...CHAPTER 1...
It was the spring in the middle of March when their fateful encounter had aligned. A beginning of solitude feelings as well as devotion, untainted feelings that shouldn’t have existed in the first place, to love someone is both a blessing and a curse for it takes your everything just to risk everything for just one person. I should have walked away the moment I laid my eyes on your dangerous allure yet here I am silently yearning for your warmth, only to be rejected afterward. I wish to turn back time so that I would have never met you, you who isolated my heart to you whom I love most as well as the person I hate the most. I hoped for nothing but affection though that will now be impossible as I have committed my vanquish sin. I wondered what made me go this far, to you, a lady whom I devoted my all, I could never understand myself, so let’s take this back from the very beginning.
The year 1489 March 19 was the middle month of spring, all the flowers were in full bloom, the flower petals were all over the place. The duke Von Heine was taking his peaceful walk on Walter street, all the people were busy taking care of the ornaments for the upcoming flower festival. The duke was inspecting all the operatives' craftsmanship, as the Duke inspected around his eyes had caught a fair lady’s presence. Adelaide Fol Glanzsmitch the duchess of the Volteiferde Kingdom, the fairest lady of the land. Duke William had gotten bewitched out on the sudden bliss of the wind.
His gaze could not waver nor withstand to simply ignore the lady’s majestic presence, even a stern man like Duke William will fumble upon the lady’s beauty, he watching her silently as she chatted around her fellow ladies. The duke felt confused about the things he had been experiencing now, his chest started to throb quite oddly. It was the first time this has happened to him after all things like this are mere nonsense as for his belief. Duke William as a child was a man of focus, commitment, and sheer will, he would not allow such thoughts to bother him deliberately. There was old teaching in the Von Heine family such as an unspoken rule in a royal family.
“Do not allow anything to bother your work, things such as thoughts should not distract you, my child”.
Duke William’s father surely made it clear that there should be no distraction that would bother him most especially when it comes to his work. Which made the little duke William follow such rules, at a young age he believed that thoughts were just mere distractions or so Duke William said otherwise, the Duke only ended up eating those exact words he had said. It was a mere thought that had stumbled on the duke’s mind little did he know it would bother him this much until he saw this fair lady. She was an angel glistening marble eyes, hazel coloured hair, lips with a luscious allure. cheeks red as a rose and a unique physique. He stared as he got lost in his thoughts, asking himself such indiscrete questions. A lady whom he barely knew started to make him wonder thoughts he was never aware of nor did he give attention to.
“Who would dare hold such a slender waist?”
“A fragile girl, who seems frailer than glass..”…
The Duke’s eyes slowly averted as the young lady met his fiendish gaze, she chuckled gracefully brushing her hazel locks onto her petite ear. It was a mere thought it was supposed to be that simple, however, it seems like it turned into a frigid attraction. The young lady had noticed the Duke for quite some time, she had been observing the charming Duke's observations. Duchess Adelaide was quite fascinated by Duke William, he was rather a dependable man, unlike the rumours that had been gossiping around the kingdom. According to the rumours, Duke William was a heinous man he had no mercy for other people, once you've infuriated him you are dead meat.
Though regardless of the rumours scattering around, it still doesn't change the fact that the Duke is a responsible and meritorious man, and on top of that, he is extremely good-looking. The young Duchess couldn't help but let her heart falter for the decent man, he was rather appealing to contemplate. The Duke was rather embarrassed to look at the elegant Duchess, however, Duke William did not want to be rude so eventually, he approached the young Duchess and gave his warm greeting.
"A lovely afternoon for you Grand Duchess Fol Glanzschmitch ". The duke bowed as he greets the young Duchess.
"Likewise Duke Von Heine". The Duchess greets the duke gracefully.
" Are you enjoying your stay, my lady?". The duke questioned the Duchess with the intent of pure curiosity.
"Indeed I am Duke, the people here are quite admirable". The Duchess praised the hard work of the workers in the metropolis.
" Is that so…". The duke was quite intrigued with the Duchess's response, she was rather a sly fox judging by her mischievous answer.
"Then what about you Duke Von Heine? Are you enjoying your stay?". The young duchess implored him with such a soothing matter of speech.
"I'm also enjoying my stay, however, there are still a lot of things I must do". The duke responded with such integrity and solitude.
" Oh, I see, just as I speculated Duke Von Heine is indeed an honourable man". The Duchess giggled as he held the Duke's arm. She gently puts a handkerchief on the Duke's palm.
"Please do use this Duke Von Heine think of it as my token of gratitude". The Duchess's cheeks were flushed red and her eyes shined like the blazing sun.
" I gladly accept you're humble gift, Duchess Fol Glanzschmitch, I shall treasure it". The duke wholeheartedly takes the handkerchief the Duchess gave.
"Alright, then Duke Von Heine have a safe journey". The Duchess spoke her farewell to the Duke.
"Likewise, Duchess Fol Glanzschmitch". The Duke bowed as he bids the Duchess his farewell. The Duke as returned from his post
