The cellphone sitting on the night table vibrated. Groggily, Nie AnAn picked it up and looked at the content.

“Miss, we just got word that Qin ZiMing will be at Club Mei for some business discussion at 8 PM tonight. If you want to see him, you should start getting ready to head on over.”

Sender: Cucumber.

What the hell was that?

Nie AnAn casually scratched her head and groggily sat up.

Except that, once she had a clear look of her surroundings, she was completely stunned.

Wasn’t she on the flight heading toward her competition? Where the hell was she now?

Oh, wait! She recalled the plane rocking back and forth violently, then all the oxygen masks dropped down. There was panic and chaos on the plane.

And then what happened next?

Nie AnAn’s heart was pounding in her chest, and all her grogginess was gone in a heartbeat. She bounced up from the bed.

She quickly looked around her. Noticing that she was the only one in the room, she picked up the cellphone.

Sure enough, she was able to unlock it with her thumb. After Nie AnAn had finished browsing the content on the phone, she finally arrived at a startling conclusion –

She had transmigrated into a novel. One she read previously by the name of “Doting Wife of a CEO” and she had become the adoptive sister of Huo YanXiao, the villain boss.

The adoptive sister in the book has the exact same name as her – Nie AnAn.

In the book, it was said that Huo YanXiao ran into Nie AnAn when he was just 9 years old. He had been on his way home from collecting protection racket with the boss.

He didn’t even know what had gotten into him that day, but when he saw Nie AnAn sitting in the corner by herself eating a steamed bun she had picked up from the ground, her large, bright eyes hidden behind her messy hair, the evil incarnate suddenly had a stroke of kindness and handed her all the protection racket that he had just collected.

Nonetheless, the three-year-old little girl, money in hand, followed him. Anywhere he’d go, she’d follow.

Block after block he walked, when he crossed the streets, the little girl would grab onto the corner of his clothes. Intimidated she was, but in her eyes, there was a determination that she was going to follow him no matter what.

Finally, he took her home with him.

Since then, every time he went to collect protection racket, she’d follow him like she was one of his goons.

When Nie AnAn was just 5 years old, she had already gone from a goon to a thug of her own merit. That was because she possessed this unusual strength. She could fight a 10-year-old when she was just 5. When she was 10, she was already the strongest fighter on the block.

The book was supposed to be about the loving relationship between these two siblings. Nonetheless, Nie AnAn ran into Qin ZiMing, the male lead of the book, on her 20th birthday.

What Nie AnAn had for Qin ZiMing was love at first sight. Ever since that encounter, all she could ever think about was Qin ZiMing.

Huo YanXiao, who had built his own business empire from the ground up, was one of Qin ZiMing’s biggest rivals in business. Ergo, no matter whose side Nie AnAn was on, she would become the enemy of the other side.

As the male lead’s charm was unparalleled in the book, Nie AnAn finally betrayed Huo YanXiao.

From that point forward, the relationship between Nie AnAn and Huo YanXiao continued to deteriorate and finally to the point of being at each other’s throat all the time.

The worst part of it all was, no matter how devoted she was to Qin ZiMing, he just was not interested in her.

As the villain boss of the novel, Huo YanXiao, also contracted incurable disease toward the end of the book and died.

When Nie AnAn recalled that detail, she couldn’t help but sigh.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door and the servant said to her from the outside, “Miss, your car is ready. Do you wish to take off now?”

“Who is it?” asked Nie AnAn instinctively.

“I’m Cucumber,” said the man on the outside. “Are you still asleep, Miss? Qin ZiMing is going to be at the club shortly, if we don’t leave soon….”

Nie AnAn responded with, “Okay, I’ll be right out!”

Even though she had no feelings whatsoever for this Qin ZiMing, she wasn’t familiar with this new environment at all. As she had already transmigrated over, she might as well follow the plotline for the time being while checking out the male lead at the same time.

Recollecting herself, Nie AnAn stood up and looked for something to put on from the closet.

When she saw all the outfits that exude viciousness like that of wolves, Nie AnAn, who had always embraced the soft and cute style since she was a child, shuddered.

Finally, in the bag that was still unopened, she found a white dress with pearls on it.

After donning the dress, Nie AnAn was going to check in the mirror, but there wasn’t one in the room. Finally, she gave up on that idea and left her room.

Cucumber, standing outside her room, was stunned when he saw her walking out as though he had seen a ghost, “Mi… Miss….”

“What’s the matter?” asked Nie AnAn in a soft voice.

“Since when did Miss dress some femininely?” Cucumber paused and rephrased his words, “So lady-like, I meant.”

“Was I not lady-like before?” smiled Nie AnAn, her voice soft like a breeze on a summer night.

Goosebumps crawled up Cucumber’s skin.

They came all the way to Club Mei and Cucumber told her, “Miss, I don’t have the membership of this club, and this is as far as I can go. Qin ZiMing is in a private room on the third floor.”

Nie AnAn muttered an acknowledgement casually and walked inside the club.

This scene was mentioned in the novel – when the original owner found out that Qin ZiMing was on the third floor, she went straight up to profess her love for him, but was insulted thoroughly by Qin ZiMing and his friends.

Nonetheless, the original owner didn’t even realize they were insulting her and just thought that they were messing around with her. That went on until Qin ZiMing was done with insulting her and looked at her like he was looking at some trash and said, “Nie AnAn, you are the most unique woman that I have ever seen in my life. You know why? ‘cause any other woman would either be ugly or stupid, but you are both ugly and stupid. I have no idea who gave you such courage to be able to stand in front of me and pollute the air that I breathe.”

This was when the original owner finally realized that Qin ZiMing didn’t like her at all.

But that did not stop her from trying to get close to him, to the point that she was hurt thoroughly and her loved one had left her.

Nie AnAn couldn’t help but be flustered when she read to this point. How was it possible to have a woman that stupid in the whole wide world? Author, are you serious?

She never would have thought that she would wake up one day and became that fool.

Nie AnAn walked inside. As soon as the worker saw her, he started shivering, “Miss Nie, the person you are looking for is not at our club.”

Nie AnAn pondered a little. Just when she was about to say something, the worker had already fallen onto the ground in fear. Pointing at the elevator, he said, “Mr…. Mr. Qin is on third… third floor, private room no. 302….”

The corners of Nie AnAn’s mouth lifted. She didn’t think she was so infamous.

When she arrived outside of private room no. 302, she felt an urge in her body –

A cool and bright male voice came from inside the room, “C’mon in.”

As soon as Nie AnAn pushed open the door and walked inside, she immediately met the gaze of a young man.

He had on a white shirt and black pants, no tie. The top two buttons were unbuttoned, and there was a slight smile on his handsome face.

But his smile quickly disappeared as soon as he saw Nie AnAn, and it was replaced with unhindered disgust.

So, this must be the Qin ZiMing, huh?

The very next second, the man raised his brows, turned his body slightly to let her in and said, “Miss Nie, c’mon in.”

Nie AnAn felt a little suspicious. She thought this Qin ZiMing wouldn’t even want to touch her with a 10-foot pole.

But recalling her reason for being here, she straightened her back and walked inside.

Qin ZiMing’s buddies sat in groups of twos and threes on the large couch. Right now, they all looked at Nie AnAn waiting for the drama to unfold.

“Nie AnAn, did you come to profess your love for Young Master Qin again today?” mocked someone. “Hey, I’ve noticed some improvement on you. Your outfit complements the tattoos on your face perfectly! What was it called? Oh, right – the combination of innocent and viciousness….”

Nie AnAn stroked her own face subconsciously. What were these tattoos they were talking about?

The boisterous laughter interrupted her thoughts.

“Nie AnAn, our Qin-ge arrived minutes before you. Your nose is, indeed, as good as that of a dog’s! This must be what true love was like!”

“Oh mi, why dodn’t I have a dog following me and wagging its tail at me day in and day out? If I have one, I’d at least feed her some bones from time to time. After all, she must be tired from wagging her tail all day long, right? Wouldn’t you agree, Young Master Qin?”

The one referred to as “Young Master Qin” was still standing there sluggishly. On his handsome face, there was the look of sarcasm and disgust as he looked at Nie AnAn.

Right then, it seemed someone suddenly remembered something. He quickly looked over at a corner in the private room and said to Nie AnAn, “Little wild dog, we had a wager before you got here. Would you like to know what it was about?”

He continued before Nie AnAn had a chance to say anything, “If you’d ditch your brother in front of Young Master Qin, Young Master Qin will give you a kiss. So what’s it gonna be? Are you going to ditch your brother?”

Nie AnAn was completed baffled. Before she could figure out what was going on, someone called out toward the corner of the room, “Mr. Huo YanXiao, don’t you want to come and witness your sister’s decision?”
