I was looking through the window with a blank gaze. It was almost dusk. Rain water was splashing on the glass. I was standing with a cup of coffee and watching trees running crazy in the storm, just like my life. I came back to consiousness suddenly. My phone was ringing, mom was calling me. A faint smile appeared on my thin lips.

"Hey mom. How are you doing?"

"Mine is not that important, Lily. Your dad is here for me. Don't worry. Have you packed everything already?"

"Almost everything. But I am afraid I cannot shift tomorrow. It's pouring outside."

"Alas! Just be careful on everything. We are really worried for you. A city you have never been to & you are on your own."

"Sure mom. How is dad? Where is he?"

"He just went to sleep. Do you need anything sweety?"

"I just miss him. It's already late. Go to sleep."

"Ok. Goodnight sweety."

"Goodnight mom"

I hung up the phone and turned around. The room was full of boxes. Yes, I have never been on my own. As I was moving to B city, it was a bit risky. I grabbed my mug tightly. I have to do it. There's no escape. There's no place for being afraid. I don't want to be that helpless again.

Two years have passed. If not for the accident, I would have had a loving family with a baby & my husband, Will Carter. I was pregnant for five months. Will and I were walking back home after having our anniversary dinner in a nearby restaurant. Will stood me up on the foothpath & went to an ice-cream vendor as I was craving for some strawberry flavour. Suddenly a covered van lost control & hit me. I lost my baby, had broken ribs and injured womb. I was bed ridden almost for one year. Doctors said the percentage of me being pregnant again was less than 10%.

I was broken physically & mentally. But as a husband, Will never stood by my side during that time. On the contrary, he blamed me for losing his heir as if it was not my child! Will was orphan but had a famous family background. Their family business was famous in city A. We had an arranged marriage, but my parents never expected such treatment from him. So my parents took care of me the whole time.

After being cured I signed a divorce paper & sent him. The whole time I cried for my baby. But now the only thing I can do is to start a new life & live for my parents who loved me most.

I wanted to be a independent lady as well as some alone space. So I decided to move back to city A from my native village. My parents were still unwilling but did not stop me. Now I have realised that what people say is true, you cannot run away from your memories. As a result, I was going to shift to a new city.

I was an unsocial being from childhood. Consequently, I had no friends at all & undergo an arranged marriage. But now I had to face the society, alone.

My flight was at midnight. I called the shifting company to entrust them with my home keys as the workers had not reached yet. They asked me to give the watchman my keys. The goods might be delivered a bit late but I will get them by the day after tomorrow. I actually had no ways left. So I did as they said.

At the airport I accidently found Will returning to city A. My lips hooked up a bit. I was going to fight back.

I landed on city B and took a taxi to my apartment. Dad's earnings are not huge but children comes first. So hee purchased this tiny house without hesitation but did not furnished it as I forbade him.

The apartment had one two sided glass walled room, one kitchen & one bathroom. I heaved a sigh of satisfaction. Dad knows the best. I had to eat outside today as my belongings were yet to arrive.

At night the workers arrived. I spent the next day sorting my belongings up. It was already weekend & I was going to adopt a dog that I decided long time ago. So today I came back home with my kid Piko, a tiny golden retriver. I went to bed early. I had a big day tomorrow.

I was in front of the company wearing a light green knee length dress along with a light pink lipstick. I walked into the building and reached the reception desk.

"Welcome to CTG. How may I help you?"

"I was selected as a graphics designer. I am here to join."

"Oh! Then you may be Ms.Jones. Please proceed right & grab the lift where that gentleman standing to level 19," the receptionsist said pointing at a slim figure wearing an off white shirt with a black pant.

I headed to the lift leaving a gentle smile & thanks to the desk. The man looked at me once and ask, "Are you new new here?"

"Hmm. How did you know?" I was a bit shy and surprised.

"You don't have any worker's id. And also this is not the visiting hour. So I guessed."

I praised that man in silent.

"You don't speak much, right?"

I felt a bit awkward. So I just nodded. The lift arrived. He requested me to get inside first.

"I am Seth Anderson. You?

"Lilly Jones. I am here for the assistant graphics designer's post."

The lift arrived at level 19.

"Okay. See you around miss Jones."

"Sure" I said with a mild smile. Suddenly I felt a loss. I could not recognize that feelings. The farther the figure went the more I was being zoned out. If not for the help desk girl, I might spend the whole day standing like that.

I had to join in my job. So I stood in front of the HR department hesitantly. I entered the room knocking and suddenly my eyes were shut wide open.

"We meet again ms.Jones."

It was Will Carter. He was talking to Jack, an HR officer who was his cousin.

I directly headed towards table 4 as the help desk girl told me. Unfortunately the lady was a bit harsh. I filled up the joining form and submitted to her.

"Young lady, you are married still you don't know your husband's name? Seriously? Fill it up. Do it fast!"

Her words hit me hard and the whole HR department was laughing. I could feel the sneering in her tone. I looked back and found Will with a devilish smile. My sight came back to my feet. I wanted to find a hole somehow to escape.

"Let it be ma'am. This is not a compulsory information. There are so many single mothers in society. Are you going to ask them who is the father of the child? Everyone has a soft spot. Leave it," another officer supported me. I hurriedly took the id and left the office. "Why this Carter should be here? On my first day! Is God playing with me?" With a mind full of questions, I went to level 20 to meet the CEO.

"Miss Jones. We highly look forward to your work and our mutual progress. To work here you have to understand my personality. Everyone working here knows that. I am a tyrranical CEO at work!"

His words and facial expression were contradictory to each other. The young man was saying those with a smile. I could not find any word to say. So I just nodded with a smile. He called his assistant to take me to my work space and introduce to my colleagues. She took me to level 19 again. My heart began to beat like a drum. Anyone could sense the tension from my existance only. "Is Will still here? I should not meet him again. That bastard just looked at me with those vicious eyes! I felt like I was being cursed then. Oh God please help me this time!" I was pleading to God in my mind.

"Is everything okay, miss? Don't be so nervous. I hope you wil enjoy being here. Our CEO might scold you so badly. But the next moment he will be very friendly. He will help you with your mistakes. And our working environment is so worker friendly," the young girl sensed the tension and was trying hard to ease me while walking through the corridor. We crossed the HR department safely and reached the work zone.

The work zone was divided into two departments, accounting zone & graphics zone. The office was so lively! It was full of natural light and green plants just as my likings.

"Everyone, attension please! This is Miss Lily Jones. A new assistant graphics designer here. Hope you guys get along with each other," she introduced me so beautifully. Then we headed towards the graphics zone. The smile of the coworkers vanished my nervousness completely, especially that gentle smile. I felt at home. It was like I was destined to be here. I thanked God wholeheartedly in silent, "God, you are really amazing!"
