Dear mom, I hope this letter found you well. you were the only one who ever truly loved me out of this whole pack, and I'm sorry I have to leave you but after what happened I can't stay anymore. I know I've only just shifted a few months ago but I promise I'll be fine I'll call you when I can but till then i guess I'll live life as a rouge I love you mom ~ Kazzy

I folded up the letter and laid it on my dresser then wrote to mom on it I had everything prepared over the last month and tonight is the night I finally leave this horrid pack.

It was 2 in the morning I tied my hair back and put my backpack on I quietly opened my window and climbed out onto my roof then I quietly closed it jumping off my roof and running for the woods as fast as I could.

I went straight for the pack territorys border and as I reached it, I stopped I shifted into my white wolf and picked up my bag then ran off the territory.

After running for the whole night I got near a town and changed back into human form and put on some clothes that were in my bag. I put it back on my back and walked into town and found a diner.

I had roughly $100,000 on me and yes I stole it from my dad's safe but he deserved it. I walked into the diner and sat at a booth. after a minute a waitress walked over to me and gave me a menu "anything I can get you to drink dear?" She asked 'just water please' I wrote on a piece of paper I had pulled out from my bag and she nodded and walked away.

I didn't or more like couldn't talk, not since I was little when my dad gave me something that would make the voice box unable to work but honestly even if I could talk I wouldn't to at least I don't think I would.

I stared at the menu and a few minutes later she brought me my water "what can I get you to eat?" She asked  'just some of the mac and cheese please' I wrote again and she wrote it down "that'll be right out" she said with a smile and I smiled back.

a little while later she brought me my mac and cheese and walked away to go behind the counter again. I noticed that she was on the phone when I looked over to her again and she was looking at me.

I continued to eat when I heard the bell of the diners door open the diner seemed pretty busy so I didn't think much of it untill a tall man probably about 6'0ft tall sat down across from me he had black hair and piercing green eyes and he looked to be in his early or mid 20's.

I stopped eating and looked up at him "hello" he said as he looked at me "what's your name" he said again I didn't write a word and went back to eating "you know, your on my territory" he said in a serious tone and my eyes went wide.

I went into my bag and pulled out a map and looked to see where I was 'shit" I thought to myself I put the map away and pulled out money to pay for my food  closed my bag and started writing 'I'm really sorry I didn't know I'll leave right now' I wrote and was about to leave "wait" he said "sit down" and I sat back down.

"How old are you?" He asked 'how old are you?' I wrote and gave him the paper "I'm 23 your turn" he said in a serious tone I sighed 'I'll be 18 in a month' I wrote and he nodded. "And your name" he said still serious, I rolled my eyes 'Kasmine Rivera' I wrote and his eyes went wide "your james rivera's daughter" he said and my blood boiled I grabbed his arm "that man is not my father" I growled back through a mind link and his eyes went wide again.

Probably because I was able to mind link him and not be in his pack. I was honestly never sure how or why I could do it but I had to touch the person for it to work if their not in the same pack as me.

"You know he's looking for you right" he said and I nodded still angry "why'd you run" he asked "that's none of your business" I linked back "and why don't you talk" he asked

"Again none of your business" I continued to link him "well if you don't want to tell me I guess I could just call your father" he said pulling his phone out "Ill tell you but we need to go somewhere private I can't risk anyone hearing your loud mouth" I replied through the link and he nodded I put the money on the table and followed him out to his Jeep and got into the passenger seat.

"Talk" he said looking at me I gave him a look and rolled my eyes I then grabbed his arm again "that pack isn't as good as it seems. They lie cheat and beat well mostly me and the reason I don't talk is because my father poisoned my voice box I haven't been able to speak for years eventually I had enough and I left" I linked looking down a my hands I could sense the anger radiating off of him. "What pushed you to your breaking point" he asked through gritted teeth. "When they raped me" I said through the link looking up at him, tears filling my eyes. His eyes went wide and he started the Jeep. "What are you doing" I asked "taking you to a hospital" "your not taking me anywhere until I at least know your name" I linked him.

"My name's Anthony" he said then put the Jeep into drive and drove off.

Anthony's POV

How could a pack do such a thing to such a kind girl. I couldn't help but be mad just the thought of someone doing that to my mate... My mate. She wouldn't even know untill she turned 18 she wouldn't for a month If I told her she might not believe me I have to keep her here at least till then. And her voice if it's that beautiful through the link how beautiful it when she speaks I hope the doctor can fix her.

Kasmine's POV

We arrived at the hospital and Anthony had

helped me out of his Jeep. "This doctor

isn't a human right I can only link with

wolves" I asked him through the link, at

this point my wolf has gotten used to

linking him, so, I didn't have to touch him

anymore.

"Yes, he's a wolf" He replied with a

kind smile and I felt my little bit of fear

disappear. We walked into the building and

a nurse immediately led us to a room. I sat

on the bed and he sat in the chair across

from me, after a few minutes, the doctor

walked in.

"Hello Alpha, I assume this is the girl you

linked me about" The doctor said and

Anthony nodded. "Hello Kasmine, I'm Dr.

Richards, the pack doctor, I'll be examining

you today. he stated putting his hand out

for me to shake "um hello and just call me

Kazzy" I linked when I shook his hand.

"You weren't kidding Alpha, how magnificent, I've never seen anything like this" He exclaimed, turning around to Anthony, "You'd really think I would lie to you 'doc'?" Anthony replied and Dr. Richards shakes his head. "Mind if I examine your larynx first?" he asked

turning back to me as I shook my head "no".

He started to feel around my throat l could feel him tense up when he felt it. He

had turned to Anthony, and at that point I

knew he had linked him.

"What's wrong?" I asked, grabbing the

doctor's arm and he turned back to me.

"Well just feeling your voice box alone, I

could tell it is very damaged "l want to do a CT scan of your throat to see what

damage there is, if you don't mind" he said

looking at me worried and I looked over at

Anthony.

I don't know" I said, linking them both at

the same time, "l say do it who knows

maybe we can fix your voice" Anthony

interjected. I nodded cautiously in

agreement.

Half an hour later, I was inside of the

machine. I was trying to stay calm, l'd

never been in one before, so it was weird.

Shortly after I was done, I was brought

back to the room. I sat on the bed and

waited for the doctor to return.

After a while the doctor came in "Alpha can

I speak to you for a minute?" Dr. Richards asked, poking his head through the door.

Anthony nodded and followed him whilst

closing the door.

Anthony's POV

"What is it doc?" I questioned, after

closing the door. "It seems Miss Rivera has

a form of Vocal box paralysis, along with

laryngitis. The Vocal box paralysis is

what is causing her inability to speak.

Meanwhile, the laryngitis is causing the

swelling. The only thing I'm confused on, is

laryngitis is normally caused by overuse of

the vocal cords." he stated in a serious

tone. "Can you cure her?" I asked, crossing

my arms.

"With how long she's had it, I'm not sure

yet, there could also be other factors, but I will try" He replied.

"WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?" I heard a man yell. "That's Alpha James Rivera. How did he find out she's here?" I asked Dr. Richards. "I didn't call, you gave me strict orders not to." He replied.

I walked over to her father, who had

stormed into the hospital. "Alpha James,

what a pleasure..." I had said, when he

interrupted me, "Where is she?" He spat.

"Who?" I questioned. "Kazzy, where is she?

l am sure she's here." He said angrily "ls

she the girl that can't talk?" I replied "Yes,

where.." "Sir, we've found her" some man

interjected. "No! Let me go, let me go.

heard her exclaim through the mind link.

"Sedate her!" he yelled, and the next thing i

know, they are dragging her, unconscious body to him.

"Where are you taking my mate, Alpha

James?" I interrogated. He looked at me

shocked, "I'm taking her home you may be

her mate, but until she's 18, she is mine."

he said harshly, making him seem like a

protective dad.

"Fine, I will see you next month on her

birthday. Alpha James if you don't give me

my mate, at that time, a war will start" I

stated, and he glowered at me, then stormed off. if the hospital hadn't been on neutral ground, I would've killed him. I sighed "l promise, I'll get you back, Kazzy" I said, guilt in my voice.

Kasmine's POV

I Woke up in a familiar place, my home. No,

I couldn't be. How did he find me? "Hey

Kaz." I suddenly heard "Lucky for you,

you're stuck with me for the next month.

Ready to have some fun?" the familiar

voice, of my ex best friend Walter, rang

through the room.

He was once my best friend, now he was

my nightmare. Just Like the rest of this

pack, except he was worse, no matter how

much I tried I couldn't fight him off. "Oh,

don't give me that look." he pouted, walking

over to me with a needle, filled with pink

liquid. "As always, Ill make sure you enjoy

it he grinned, as he got close to my ear,

then stuck the needle into my neck.

I almost immediately started to feel hot.

Everything became so hot and vague. All

he did at first was touch my arm and a

moan came out of my link, like it was

uncontrollable. He slowly walked his

middle and index finger down my arm and

I Let out another moan. "See, doesn't that

feel good babe" he smiled, taking my pants

off and kissing my thigh. "You will bear my

pups, sweet Kazzy, I promise" he smiled

cruelly, as he started taking more of my clothes off.

Soon we were both ***** skin on skin.

At that point, I had closed my eyes and

blocked all the so called feel goods out.

That stupid drug may have made me feel

good at the time, but after it happened, my

heart and mind felt torn. I had a mate. I

may not have met him yet, but he was

there, how could he accept me when he found out that all this had happened.

weeks went by and the same thing happened everyday. after what felt like hours he finished for the day. this was what my life had become. To him I was him I was his toy that couldn't fight back, and as always when Walter left the room I began to cry.

it's sad because this was the third week, it had happened. My heat was due anytime, with or without the drug. He may not have known when, but he knew it was before my birthday.

It was the day before my birthday my heat had already come and gone and I could only hope that I wasn't pregnant. so far there were no signs but that didn't mean much. my wolf was in pain she felt as if she had betrayed her mate and I couldn't help but feel the same.

"hey Kaz" I heard Walter say as he leaned against the door frame "I swear to God I will kill you" I linked him "oh don't be like that we used to be so close" he replied "that was before the Alpha wanted to make you Alpha when you were still a nobody" I replied through the link.

his eyes went black and in the blink of an eye he had me by my throat and against the wall "you respect your future alpha" he growled "respect has to be earned" I growled through the link. he threw me to the ground and walked out of the room closing and locking the door.

I sat up rubbing my throat from how hard he had just held it. I need to get out of here. I thought standing up and dusting myself off.

the next day I woke up to the most wonderful scent and yelling from downstairs today was my birthday and I would be able to find my mate from this day on.

"bring me my mate!" I heard a man day from down stairs "Anthony is that you" I linked if he was here then he would get it unlike from his pack which was past the link distance. "where are you?" he linked back.

"I'm in my room upstairs 3rd door on the left" I linked back "I'll have someone go and get her" I heard my father say from downstairs. "after a minute my door was unlocked and I busted through the door and followed the scent down stairs when I got to the bottom of the steps, I saw Anthony we looked each other in the eyes and that was the moment I realized he was my mate.

I saw the look in my so-called father's eyes he didn't want me to go "Kazzy you can't go with him I've told you the stories he's ruthless" my father said running over to me and grabbing my shoulders.

"he can't be worse than you father" I linked making sure the entire pack plus Anthony could hear. my father's eyes went wide he knew that with Anthony as my mate he couldn't keep me here "what's going on" my mother said walking into the room.

my mother had been glad my father found me and she always visited me over the past month but she was oblivious to what was happening. "I found my mate mother and I'm going with him" I said through her link she looked over at Anthony and her eyes went dark. "you will not take my daughter you monster" she screamed.

the next thing I knew she was running towards him I ran In between them to stop her from doing anything stupid "please mom trust me" I said through her link and she calmed "fine" she said and left the room she was obvious mad. "are you ready" Anthony said and I nodded, I hated leaving my mother on these terms but I knew my father wouldn't hurt her.

we got into Anthony's jeep and started the 10 hours' drive back to his pack "are you really the so called ruthless Alpha Williams" I linked him while I looked down at my lap "yes" was all he replied "why didn't you tell me" I replied through the link.

"last month when you told me what you had gone through, I was going to tell you that I was the horrid Alpha and also your mate but I decided that it would be better for you to discover I was your mate yourself. and as for the ruthless Alpha part well your father decided to storm the hospital before I could tell you" he said keeping his eyes on the road.

after that we went back to silence and I eventually drifted into darkness.

Anthony's POV

we on the road almost 6 hours when I finally noticed she was asleep guess I was stuck in thought all I could think about was the scent of that mutt all over her I swear if he did anything, I would kill him.

but right now, that wasn't important what was important was Kazzy and getting her to be herself again well if she ever was herself.

eventually we got back to the pack house it was already dark and I told the pack not to welcome their Luna today telling them she's been through a lot.

I parked the car and quietly got out and made my way around to the other side opening the door and carefully unbuckling her then picking her up and I took her into the house.

we made our way to my bedroom and I laid her on the bed and carefully took her shoes off.

I pulled the blankets over her and watched as she slept. she looked so peaceful and beautiful. I walked out of the bedroom and went down to my office so she didn't hear. I sat down and pulled out my phone.

I dialed a number and it rang 3 times before she picked up "hey little cuz I heard you found your mate" she said in a happy yet serious tone. "Diana, I need your help" I replied, I told her what had happened with Kazzy or at least what I knew of it and how I wanted her to talk to her to find out how her mental state was.

"I'll see what I can do, how's tomorrow at 4 sound" she asked "perfect" I said "see you then" and I hung up the phone.

Diana was my cousin she was a professional counselor and I had her do psych evaluations on everyone who entered my pack. she was only 27 and was one of the best counselors in the country. I guess it was a good thing she was my cousin.
