Chapter 1 - Captured!
I can't see where I am...
A huge bag was covering my whole face. I can barely even breathe.
Last thing I remember was reading a note from my mother, saying that she was leaving me.
I guess that I really am all on my own now...
Suddenly, the bag was pulled from my head to reveal a fancy traditional Japanese room.
In front of me was an old man who almost looked as young as most of my teachers.

I'm terribly sorry for the way in which my men treated you to get you here.

They shall be punished accordingly.

Boss
You have no need to worry. I do not wish to harm you.

I am Satsu Lucas, the boss of this territory. You may call me Boss.

Chapter 2 - School Life
It's been a day since I agreed to marry the son of the gang boss my mother owed money to.
She promised me to stop gambling after that minor win she got, but she never did stop.
I found myself walking to school the very next day, my mind in the clouds per usual.
The lease for my apartment was renewed for another month, just until I marry and move in with the Boss's son.
I wonder what he's like. If he looks anything like the Boss, then he must be handsome!
No, stop fantasising. I'd rather marry a respectable yet ugly man than a crooked yet handsome one!
As I walked through the gates, my homeroom teacher, Mr Lucas, smiled at me.

Good morning, Alyssa.
Alyssa Fields
Oh, good morning, Mr Lucas.
Mr Lucas is a young teacher who apparently graduated early from teaching school.
He's a great Maths teacher and prides himself on being easygoing and kind.
However, I don't know why, but I don't seem to connect as much with him compared to the other students.
Anyway, he's my homeroom teacher and my maths teacher, so I do see him a fair amount in the week.
Pulling me into a classroom angrily, my best friend Lila huffed at me.

How is it fair that Mr Lucas always says hello to you without you saying anything to him??!
Oh, did I mention that she has a huge long-term crush on Mr Lucas?

H-Hardly... it's probably because I'm the top student here...
She squinted at me before sighing and falling back, sitting on a desk.

You're probably right! Anyway, where were you yesterday?

You left at lunch and never came back.
I was being held in a gang boss's lair against my will.

I decided to spend the day studying. I have to keep my grades up.

My phone credit has run out long ago...
The bell then chimed and Lila smiled brightly.

Yay~. Time for homeroom. Come on, I want to see Mr Lucas as he walks into the room.
And just like that, I was trailed around school once again.
Lila is an eccentric friend who loves to be in love with Mr Lucas.
I support her since I'm her friend but a teacher-student romance isn't going to happen between them.
No teacher would be dumb enough to risk their career on that. Especially one as young as Mr Lucas.

Hello, class. Take your seats please.
Mr Lucas walked into the room, his register in hand.

Ah, look! Isn't he dreamy?
Sometimes, I can't help but roll my eyes at Lila's choice of crushes.
Liam Lucas
Okay. I'm going to take the register today.

Oh! Sir, you seem relatively happier today!

I got some great news yesterday, so that must be why.
His eyes then seemed to fall on me for a split-second before leaving me once again.
Anyway, I got through first period maths.
The questions he put on the board was simple for me to understand.
After all, I've already gone through this year's syllabus over the summer, to get ahead.

What about this question? Alyssa?
Wait, he never calls on me! I then stood up and looked at the board.
Alyssa Fields
The answer is either x is 3.25 or x is 4.56? No, 4.57.
The whole class looked at me in awe.
Liam Lucas
Yes, that is indeed correct. But remember, we're working this out, so why don't you want us through your process?
It was strange. Mr Lucas never called on me before. I just assumed that it was because he knew I knew the answer to it.
When the bell rang, I suddenly got a text message.
That's weird, I don't remember having any credit.
I took out my phone and saw that the message came from an unknown number.
Boss
"Hello, it's your future father-in-law! I took the liberty of retrieving your number and renewing your phone."
Boss
"Here is your future husband's number! XXXXXXXXXX! Save it and when you have time, call him!"
So this is the number of his son, my future husband.
I guess that I might as well save it.
When I was making the new contact however, I got stuck on the name.
Come to think of it, I have no idea what his name is!
So, the only thing that came to mind was Husband.
I put it into the contact and saved it.
I guess that it's not as if I can get out of this.
I then opened up my text messages and stared at it before sighing.
How am I supposed to compose a message to someone who I don't know and who I'm going to marry.
So, I ended up saying "Hello, this is Alyssa Fields." and sended it.
I waited and waited most of my lunch but there was no reply.
That's right! His father told me that he's a civil servant, so he must be working right now!
Lila Hookes
Hey, I need to go to the bathroom! Need to freshen up my makeup!
And just like that, Lila left.
My eyes then drifted down to her desk and noticed her makeup bag was still on it.

Hey, Lila! Wait up, you forgot your makeup!
I rushed after her, hoping to catch up to the lightning bolt that I have as a friend.
